Top 5 Reasons To LS Swap On A Budget. Yes - I'm LS swapping my Mercedes. It’s such a bad idea, no one has done it before! th-cam.com/video/ywvh-kpMAmc/w-d-xo.html
Do Boy's Garage Just double check that the thread is going in the correct direction. I'm 99% sure it will be, but I'm trying to imagine it in my head as I write this comment. I'm gonna go check out your channel. Looks interesting!
Good luck! I believe there are some small differences in the S14. The brackets come with instructions. The main thing is that brake lines will not line up with the master cylinder so you'll need to re-bend the lines. I'm working on a second video now for the hydraulics. Also, I would recommend you bench bleed your new master cylinder before installing it.
good video. looks really good. once you get the tap started you can also use a 12 point socket. makes it go a little quicker. what are your plans for the back brakes?
Thanks Kevin! Yeah, I didn't figure out the socket until later. It takes a while to start the process. My plans for the rear are Z32 brakes from a 300ZX Twine Turbo.
This is a super helpful video. The part numbers have helped a lot. I want to do the same swap on my R33. Do you know what offset your RPF1s are? I know they come in two spoke designs.
Tremor Check Rock Auto with the part numbers listed in the video description. They have a few options. Stay away from drilled though as they will crack.
+BMkeys14 The calipers are very light. Probably the same as OEM. The rotors are quite a bit heavier. I haven't measured the difference but I'd guess 10lbs per rotor.
I haven't done the 6 piston swap, but the steps should be the same. It's a different bracket kit. Also available from the link in the description. They have detailed instructions. They are currently working on a bracket for the rear brakes, but it's a totally different procedure. You need to pull the axles. I'll be doing a video on that in the next few months.
Hey nice video! Have you measured the offset of the caliper to the center of the brake disk? I'm a bit reserved about the washer between the spindle and the caliper.
You absolutely need the washer to make the caliper line up perfectly. I tried it with it off and the rotor was not centered. It's easy to see for yourself. I've been driving the car with no issues, but next time I am at the shop I will measure it.

aha. i didnt know that :) would it be possible to grind off a bit from the calippers where its closest to the wheel or would it compromise the structural integrity of the calipper?
What is the bolt size to mount it? I have a 2003 Infiniti m45 which is similar to the 300zx setup. If the ctsv bolt is a M14 then I don’t need to make the hole Bigger
Subbed last night while watching the live stream. Great video and I'm going to have to check more of them out. I'm doing a complete 300ZX brake and 5 lug conversion on my 240 in the next month. I'll be making a few part series of the install on my channel.
Thanks a ton for the support! I'll do the rear brakes soon too. I'm just trying to make helpful and also entertaining videos as well. The 300ZX conversion is very similar to this. The only difference is the bracket. There's a good instruction guide online if you Google it. I'll be checking out your channel.
It will be tight but they should. I have 17x9 +22 RPF1. The barrel will clear for sure. Pretty sure the spoke will clear too. If you want to be 100% sure; go to the Brembo website and download a template of the caliper. You can test fit it inside the wheel. I show you how to do that in this video near the end: The Best Wheel Offset Video th-cam.com/video/LEQVxtABknk/w-d-xo.html
@@luxurygeneration407 It’s not something I’m going to do soon. It will be months before i get to that. Google it for other videos. Search TH-cam. Check out Fitment Industries here on TH-cam.
Check the barrel of your wheel. You need about 10mm between the caliper and the barrel to account for expansion. You’ll also need to check to make sure the caliper clears the spokes of the wheel as well.
Great video!, Will the Duralast Reman or BrakeBest etc OEM replacements from local auto stores also fit in this application as I noticed you also noted the AC Delco oem alternatives?
Thanks Adane! Yes, any brake pad for the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V will fit. I gave the OEM one as a reference. In my experience so far, you probably don't need a very aggressive pad as these calipers provide a massive amount of stopping power. I'll do a video on the rear replacement soon as well.
Hey I have a s14 on the ctavbrakeswap site there's a 4 piston and also a 6 piston my question is I have a built streetcar not tract car which makes more sense?
I'm about ready to swap my s13's brakes, still debating z32 vs the CTS-V's, do you know if the cts-v's require a wheel bigger than 17" like an 18 for example?
Actually that's not correct. The brake line is at the top of the caliper, not the side so they bleeders will need to be flipped. Thanks for checking out the video!
Exactly. Why remove the bleeders and just flip the right side up. The banjo bolt doesn’t matter how’s it’s oriented because you don’t bleed the brakes from there.
The rear brakes are a lot more work to do than the front brakes. I'll definitely be doing a follow up video where I show you how to upgrade the rears to z32 brakes. I also like to do things in steps to help diagnose potential problems.

Please do z32 rears and do a video on it
I definitely will! It's going to be a few weeks as I'm in the middle of a lot of traveling. Just hang tight. I promise I'll do this!
@@revmatchtv did you ever do it, I cant find the video??
@@elitecol69 I never did the video. I sold the car a few years ago. I'm sure there are other videos on it.
@@revmatchtv But.. you promised?!
@@elitecol69 I never installed the Z32 calipers before I sold it. Sorry.
Fascinating as always :D
Thanks Georg!
Is there a reason you had to tap it starting from the back instead of the front?
Do Boy's Garage You could probably do it from the front as well, but it was easier to do it from the back.
RevMatch Awesome thanks. Just double checking if there was a particular reason. Ordered my setup this morning for my S13.

Are these same exact parts usable on a s14? Or is it different part numbers I mean of course the bracket is the s14 bracket instead of the s13
Shouldn’t the bleeder be on top to better let air escape?
Ordered everything doing mine next week
Probably a good idea to put the bleeder on top actually.
hey man about the rotors, you forgot to post the link to get them, im having trubble finding which are the right ones
+Antonio Gonzalez I'm not at my computer right now but try Rock Auto or put that part number into Amazon. Let me know if you still need help!

can you recommend a slotted rotor to fit this application. Much thanks

Much thanks... yup just looking for slotted... Great videos! Keep up the good work! *Waiting patiently for the rear brake upgrade.
Subscribed. Make a Z32 Brake swap all around! (rear mostly)
Revmatch, how much extra weight does this add? I'm thinking about going this route with my S14 in the near future. Thanks for the video
+BMkeys14 The calipers are very light. Probably the same as OEM. The rotors are quite a bit heavier. I haven't measured the difference but I'd guess 10lbs per rotor.
I found that the number part of the rotors is 12742076 and also this 12542076 (as you posted) I'm confused

why add spacers when it fits? i hate spacers so much..

How can you find out if the Calibers fit on any car. Or what do you need.
It's car by car. If you're doing an odd swap you have to measure, fit, test. There's no chart of calculator.
@@revmatchtv do have a video on how to start the Measurements Or what to measure.

Isn't the nipple on the caliper suppose to be at the top and not the bottom? So when you bleed it the air will be released.

My 1989 240 has 4 lug hubs. What 5 lug hubs are those?

Jai Clarke There's a good chance. They have to be at least 17". I ended up putting on a 3mm spacer to make sure the spokes clear.
Yeah I'll be running 18x9 so they should work,
Dude, thanks so much for posting this video. Now I can buy rpf1s!

use cutting oil.. oh yeah maybe get an actual tap wrench?
will this kit work on an R32?
Chharith Oeun It's very similar, but you don't need the bracket:
What rear calipers are you using to match the front?
Currently stock. Its not well matched. I plan to upgrade to 300ZX rear brakes.
Is it an easy install to do a rear 300zx caliper?
You need to pull the rear axles and run a different parking brake cable to the brake lever. So, no, it’s a lot of work actually.
Great video man. Jus subscribed.. whats the widht of the rotor. I cant found the exact model!
Agustin Gerosa Thanks!! They are 12.75". Try Rock Auto. The exact part number is in the description.

WD 40 is not a lubricant for tapping.
Thank you for the video! just wondering why your switching the lines to the bottom and bleeder to the top?
You don't want air to get in, so you always have your bleeders at the top. Otherwise bubbles rise up into the system.
Why remove the bleeders and not flip it the other way and just install the banjo bolt from the bottom?
This kit fits on z51 corvette brembo calipers to 240?
You would have to check with the kit maker.
u r the cutest guy on the internet
Joey Azhang Why thank you? You know I'm not getting the ladies! Haha
What about the rear?
Haven’t gotten to it yet.
the caliper is upside down, the trap must be facing up
Do these fit 2013 escalade? Since I see them go on every car?
Unlikely, but go on the Enkei website for sizing
the 6 piston version what rotor needs?
Not sure. These 4 piston calipers are far too much brake for the car as it is.
You could have just put that caliper on the opposite side and you wouldn't need to change the bleeders
Actually that's not correct. The brake line is at the top of the caliper, not the side so they bleeders will need to be flipped. Thanks for checking out the video!
What?
Exactly. Why remove the bleeders and just flip the right side up. The banjo bolt doesn’t matter how’s it’s oriented because you don’t bleed the brakes from there.
What size are thos wheels?
