    I love it! I searched and watch everyone's videos on this exhaust and other types. Even though this video has been done a lot of times already. I know there are people like me, that need to see them all before making a big purchase like this.

      This is the best exhaust! I've heard muffler deletes., J Pipe to stock exhaust, etc. They sound terrible. This exhaust is, perfectly in the middle. Great for long distance trips or cruising. If you want it louder get a J Pipe. MORE...Get Headers, or GO catless. This is great starting out or leaving it for good. You will SAVE money in the long run by getting the R400.

      Thanks! The R400 exhaust checks a lot of boxes. Great sound, very stylish, durable and good power gain. Also not so loud you neighbors won't leave notes on your car. Only cons are, it's a bit heavy and a little pricey.

    • @epicpeaker3155
      @epicpeaker3155  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both the catalytic converters are still on the car. The R400 is after the cats (catback), so there is no smell. You get smell if you replace the J-pipe (downpipe) with a catless one.

    • @epicpeaker3155
      @epicpeaker3155  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is pretty quiet if your car has a stock J-pipe. But way louder, and better sounding then the stock exhaust. Also not much drone. Now that I have the Cobb J-pipe, it's loud enough to annoy the neighbors but not enough to call the cops. The Wrx isn't my daily, so I don't start it early in the morning or late at night. The cold start is loud AF!

    • @wolfovodin7193
      @wolfovodin7193 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Epic Peaker nice! I figured a change of the down pipe would help with that a bit. If you don’t have one already, you should consider making a video on it. I was considering swapping my daily from a Mustang to a WRX because of my family and I want to figure out which exhaust sounds the best. I don’t like quiet cars lol

    • @epicpeaker3155
      @epicpeaker3155  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. You'll need an adapter gasket, if you have a stock jpipe. I got the Grimmspeed one. If you have an aftermarket jpipe get a regular 3in Grimmspeed one. Even if Invidia has one for where the catback meets the jpipe, having the Grimmspeed one is way better. The Grimmspeed ones never wear out, but the Invidia ones do. I'm not sure but I think when I got the Cobb jpipe it came with the donut gasket. It doesn't fit very good though.

    Does it give you good pop and how many aftermarket parts have you put into your car

    • @epicpeaker3155
      @epicpeaker3155  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the pop from the MAPerformance 93 OTS map. The R400 makes it a bit louder. I think 2018+ has better sound insulation and thicker glass, so car is quiet inside. Also R400 isn't that loud as it has 4 mufflers, just deep sounding. I have stock airbox with drop in K&N. Perrin turbo inlet. Boomba BPV and R400. The intake noises are much louder than stock without a CAI harming the motor. I wouldn't put on CAI without a protune. I like the sound it has with this setup. It sounds like more of an explosion than a long pssst sound.

    Have a shop cut out the resonator and weld in some pipe. You'll hear the turbo spool :) I also own a 2018 WRX in crystal black silica! Here in New Mexico, hey neighbor!

    • @epicpeaker3155
      @epicpeaker3155  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was told it was only $100ish to do that. I asked about if it was stainless steel and he said no. And there was only one location that did SS and it was $300. I might still do the resonator delete or might go Tomei to save weight. But if I did the Tomei I would probably have to use the silencer to defeat the noise and sacrifice the awesome look of the R400.

    2021 wrx (non sti completely stock).. super torn between q300 and r400, really just want to avoid drone on the highway/not to be obnoxiously loud but do want to liven up the car a little bit. Worried the q300 might be too quiet for the 1K price tag... any input would be great!

    • @epicpeaker3155
      @epicpeaker3155  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a lot of good catbacks out there. My R400 still looks new. Sound and noise level is subjective to each person. My car now has intake, non resonated J-pipe, headers, and full tgv deletes. It is NOT too loud for me (even on the highway and WOT) and I'm 48 years old. If you're completely stock I would go R400 for sure. It gets a bit louder with more mods. Not sure if you are planning more mods after the catback though. Maybe the Q300 if you plan on doing more mods and want a quieter sleeper car. The cold start will be significantly louder though, with either catback. So if you have jerk neighbors it might be better to get the Q300. Don't get the Tomei if you work early in the morning.

    Wanted to ask... I just installed the invidia Gemini r400 catback on my 2018 premium wrx and install wasn't bad but trying to get tips centered wasn't fun.. did yours line up easy?? I have redline olm exhaust finishers they are thicker than stock maybe that's it really close to touching the inside on both sides..

      If your thinking about CBE, just go for it. The R400 has a resonator that eliminates most all the drone. This exhaust isn't loud either, just a deep tone. I personally would like it a bit louder. Perhaps a J-pipe or cut out resonator and weld new pipe would make it perfect. I've had girls comment that they like the sound of my car. Not a complaint yet.
