  • This video shares my experiences living with mental health illness specifically depression, anxiety and low self esteem and how I defeated it. I kept my thought records from all those years ago and share some of them in this video as well as the type of thoughts I had at the time.
You are amazing, you can and will beat this illness trust me ❤️
    P.s sorry about the tears!!

I have came here because I'm really struggling right now , when you cried j cried only because you are giving a really good insight into this condition , and when you talk about something that has effected you it's natural for it to bring up emotions. I find I can't talk to my sons as j don't want to burden them

I feel like I’m really stuck in it right now and I’ve been looking for videos like this, not necessarily for advice but just to know what other people’s experiences are so that I have people to relate to. The way you articulated your struggle with depression felt so honest and real and I’m so glad that this video exists so that I can feel less alone.
I can’t even fathom getting out of this, and I’m at a point where it’s really hard to even believe it for myself, but seeing clearly that someone else who was in much the same predicament I am in, and who was so clear and open about their experience has gotten through it, does give me a shred of hope for myself that some day I might get out of this hole I’m in. Thank you so much for making me and many others feel less alone.

    • @SecondsOutFightStore

Definitely do not be hard on yourself my friend. This is an illness and not a true reflection on you. The first step I’d say is talk to your friends and family. And try putting yourself in on situation every day that makes you uncomfortable. For me one was going to the supermarket 2 nights in a row (I used think the staff would laugh at me being pathetic shopping twice in 2 days, nothing better to do with my time!) completely inaccurate! But by doing things I found difficult it really helped me realise these were nonsense thoughts

Feel I was still holding onto a lot and doing this really helped get it out and seems to of really helped others which is just brilliant.
I’m so glad it was of some help on your journey, I have no doubt just reading your message that you will also get out the other side stronger and in a better place.

I agree 100% about the Stigma around mental health. Look at you, You're Gorgeous. I had a Wonderful Mother who taught me to Think Positive. I had such negative thoughts.. I wrote super faint in pencil on the wall while I slept my life away.."Think Positive" It's easy for a person to think negative... how hard it is to think Positive and turn it around. It takes work but it can be done. Exercise, Good Music and Humor are my go to's. Good Luck to Everyone

I'm going through the exact same thing I've been boxing for 6 months and I absolutely hate myself. I have a fight next month and I'm constantly convincing myself I'm not good enough and going to get battered, for everyone to see. My self esteem makes me hesitant in sparring because I don't believe in my ability. Social anxiety, despising my body, negative thoughts about everything and being a door mat for everybody with no back bone to stand up for myself. This video has seriously resonated with me because we've found similar passions, I love boxing I'm the fittest I've ever been, although still chubby, it's ruined my life for so long that I convince myself I'm just weird. I hope I pull through like you, I think the day I see my abs I will finally begin to believe.

    • @SecondsOutFightStore

You’ll get there my friend no doubts. Keep doing the right things and don’t stop boxing, heck I got knocked out in my first fight in front of all my friends, it sucked at the time but I got back in there and won my 2nd fight. You’ll never know what will happen unless you try. And trying your best is all you can do. Better to try and fail than never try at all. I’ve got a feel you might just surprise yourself mate 👊

Great video! One thing I would like to add though: stay away from "Psychiatrists". At least in the USA, all these MD's want to do is throw medications at you. Meds that will mask whatever's going on. I'd strongly urge people with depression or anxiety or anything to first go see a mental health counselor, / mental health therapist. There are so many ways to combat depression/ anxiety including lifestyle changes and cognitive behavioral therapy, and more.

I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through this my friend. My best advise would be to speak to your family/close friends. People are so understanding. Definitely also see psychiatrist and sit down to talk about how you’re feeling. If this is your darkest days find a way to stop the downward spiral, even if it’s not increasing it, just stopping it so it doesn’t get worse. Maybe also plan a day that you can look forward to, might just be a visit somewhere local, a meal with a friend. You’ve got this Ken 100%, and I promise these dark days don’t last forever🙏

Mate, what a brave, respectable and honest person you are. Your thoughts mirror mine in virtually every way. I'm 48 years old and it's taken me over twenty years to admit to myself that I have problems. I don't know how but I managed to get married and have a family and hold down a job but through it all I've put my loved ones through years of distress. I have also missed opportunities as well as alienate numerous friends and associates.
I now face a crisis in my marriage and this has forced me to admit to myself that I have to deal with this. I'm now seeking counselling and hoping that this will get me out of this dark space and save my marriage.
I wish you all the best and judging by what little I know of you, I certainly think you have a lot to offer a lady in a relationship and I sincerely hope you get that in your life because I think you deserve it.

I’ve been opening up & telling my loved ones that I’m not myself. I never cried & have been crying almost daily.
My wife says she can’t deal with this. My depression only started after my eye surgery. My entire physiology changed, I had palpitations & couldn’t sleep for days. Prior to that I was always happy & laughing all the time.
But what hurts me is my inner circle have been there during my happy times, but bailed on me during my worst times.
I’ve tried another AD & started vitamins & I’m getting changed. Stopped gluten, take nutritional yeast, vitamins D, B1 fish oils, saffron. I’m saving up for my CBT session. God has not shut the door on me. I’ve stopped crying in the last 3 days.
Were you on any AD ?

I’m not saying suicidal people should give up but I wouldn’t call it “stupid”. Suicide seems to get stigmatized harshly when I’m sure most victims of it have perhaps avoided suicide for a long time because no one wants to die, and in their case just stop the pain because they are thinking there would be no more pain if they are dead but like any other illness you either beat it or you don’t. The peers around you may think it’s simple but emotional healing is significantly more complicated for the person going through it.
