Marriage license is like $80 bucks. Divorce takes away all ur current assets and also ur paycheck for the next 20 years. U also pay for the lawyer who is helping ur wife take away all ur stuff.
I went back to Saigon to marry my high school sweetheart in 2000. After 24 years, I'm still with the same woman who also gave me 2 wonderful kids (a boy and a girl). We're crossing the half way mark of our lives on earth and planning to keep going to the finish line. 😎

Sage advice. After my girlfriend in Ecuador moved in with me, she became a different person. I saw an attorney to understand the legal implications of kicking her out. Even a six month relationship is complicated in Ecuador. If you're an expat in a foreign country, talk to an attorney before you pass a commitment milestone. You're married in Ecuador after two years of living together and she gets half of your US assets.
The most lonely man is a married man whose wife no longer loves him . He is stuck as he cannot have any relationship with anybody else, while the woman , who is supposed to have a relationship with him and have sex with him , refuses to do so and even refuses to talk to him. Compare that to a single but attractive and reasonably financially well off man, who can go with almost any woman or even with 10 to 30 beautiful women, all at the same time, without having any problems , as long as he continue to stay single .
@@newafricanforum Losing over half your stuff. Ironically I'm stuck in hell because of my kids. My wife has BPD and has made my life a living hell. We've basically been roommates for 8 years. It certainly has cultural shift in plain sight and still going strong. Do to foreigners flocking to Asia weather for amusement or companionship demands women are certainly level up. You noticed the mentality of traditional women there are decreasing. While the adaptation of expectations and mimicking a sense of entitlement from the west are increasing.
Feminism is very attractive. And actually most of those westerners flocking there, from English teachers to influencers to aid workers are ALL feminists and spreading ghe virus. I once met an esol teacher who was introducing the alphabet soup stuff to kids ...and I read some of their textbooks, they are all written with a feminism vibe. So buyers be aware...unfortunately. oh another lady I met in a dating site. Was taking me to fancy restaurants for free meals, kind of foodie call. One day I kind of suggested we should stay in the hotel and chill. She said no. I said then let's call it a day. See you later. She went back ...and later sent a message in broken English saying it was woman abuse or something like that. I was like, how? I didn't touch you . I didn't say anything nasty...and we had been to more than 5 food dates 😂😂
And if you are smart enough not to marry But have a child with the female. That is another way of the system going into your pockets. 20% min of what u make before taxes.
As a married Vietnamese-American woman, I understand very well the cultural mix/clash of Vietnamese and American views on marriage. There are a lot of underlying nuances especially from the Vietnamese side about what marriage symbolizes. If you're a non Vietnamese man intending to marry a Vietnamese woman in VN, I highly recommend you first and foremost take time to really get to know each other. Beyond the superficial how she likes her coffee, get to know her family, how she gets on with them, how they treat each other. What was her childhood like? What expectations do they have for her? What expectations does she have for herself? Have you seen her at her worst? When she's stressed out? How does she handle stress? I think a lot of problems with marriage nowadays is most couples marry in a hurry because of familial/societal pressure, pressure to have kids because bio clock is ticking, etc. They don't know their partner well enough so soon after the wedding, the marriage dissolves. It's especially difficult for long distance marriages where you're in town only a few times so you've only seen them while both of you are on holiday mode so you think they're the best thing since sliced bread so you think getting married is a great idea. Bottom line, think twice, 3 or 4x before deciding to get married. PS. I'm married to a Singaporean just in case someone thinks I became an American because I married an American guy. 😅

Man, hearing that 70% number of women filing for divorce is the same rate as in the U.S. I've heard that women with college degrees raise that to 90% It simply does not pay to marry a college educated career woman.

Mr Duong, as always, very sharp and professional conversation. You do not disappoint, ever. I like that you do not shade the commentary in favor of the Vietnamese or the Foreigner. You just give us the straight up facts that the court uses to make their decisions. In USA, I work with a lot of younger people. Many of their mindsets these days are geared to co-habitation without marriage. Marriage has become too messy, too dangerous financially, and deeply affected by the swipe right culture. I always tell the younger guys...I'm married, happily so (on most days) to a Beijinger.....that there is no real reason to marry unless it is about procreation. American courts are more than quicksand for the men. I really see marriage as a very dangerous proposition for guys.
All of the manosphere guys have been saying to go to Vietnam and the Philippines to get married, but it looks like the exact same thing plaguing the West and East Asia is also hitting Southeast Asia, too. Nowhere is safe it seems.
No wise person said to a man, go get married. Relationships based on lop sided contracts fail, best stay with someone based on how they treat you vs contract.
That's because some guys have conflated location with women's nature. Its not very different in asia cause they studied western women from social media and improved the technique.

Most of korean's men are marrying with Vietnamese girls from rural areas, cause they re more family oriented and would sacrifice their lives to build a family together with a man. Women in urban areas are more independent and individualistic and know that divorce is the fatest way to get half of all assets of her husband due to the feminists laws that protect them above moral and ethical principles. So if u want to marry with a women , choose from rural and poor areas.
If really really really have to marry, then your advice makes good sense but you better settle somewhere she can get toxic with the city wives or it's all the same caldron of shyt.
They all have smartphones and social media now. What the urban girl knows so does the country girl. Its the pressure of the rural community that keeps them traditional. But once the leave they rarely stay that way.
@thanhpham1647 U re right, most country women are less sensitive to the feminism movements around the world that contaminate all family values of commitment, sacrificing individual desires, serving, caring and taking care of family above all. So, if u wanna marry for a long term relationship, choose a rural girl.
First, thank you for this very interesting content. As a foreigner here, and having witnessed many of my friends getting in huge mess after marrying a Vietnamese woman way too fast, I know your video will be very useful. We tend to think that our partners are way more perfect than what they really are, especially due to the language barrier. From my own experience, i would say : Give it a solid 2 years of dating before marriage , make sure you know your in laws really well, and as it was stated before, get advised by an attorney beforehand. Better to be safe than sorry.
US citizen here! married a Vietnamese scammer unbeknownst to me. Have a child with her. She yells at me and the child. Physically Abuse the child. Won't let me raise the child because she's using the child for a suspended prison sentence. Vietnam law says she doesn't need to go to prison until the child is over 36 months and no matter what the father has no rights if the child under 36 months. I got an estimate for divorce and child custody 5k for lawyer fees and I have to travel back and forth. My honest opinion: marriage and having a family in Vietnam doesn't benefit the man at all. Women wins in all circumstances according to the Vietnamese law. I blame myself for not vetting the person I married. Now I have to pay the consequences. I hope people don't make the mistakes I did.
That's harsh. Makes me want not to get married at all as a local myself 😢 I don't know why many young women has the audacity to say "spend on me to have my love" , these days.

My money has quadruple and I’m at home right now looking outside the window being at peace
The most miserable man is a man who is already married, but the wife refuses to have sex with him, so he end up being married but getting no sex, and he is worst off than single men, who can have as many girls or girlfriends as they want . I am a Asian westerner who is dating a Vietnamese. We live in Canada. I can see a deteriorating marriage culture in Vietnamese culture for a few reasons. 1) In Viet culture, they tend to marry quickly with minimal time for dating and courtship. This leads to 'shotgun' type marriages and as you said @Ken, a photo worthy wedding, but not a stable relationship with solid foundations that takes time to establish. Which leads me to my next issue: 2) Viets tend to be obsessed with social media and have a hard time realizing that what is depicted and curated via ones online presence does not actually line up with reality (frankly that is just real life) and when pressed with the decision to work and invest time and care into building a stronger relationship, Viets tend to 3) Be less willing to do the hard work that results in greater long term happiness, and would prefer to go for the seemingly quick, and easy out solution ie. divorce. For the record, my wife and I have a happy marriage and are raising a growing family but every marriage is like a garden, you have to invest time into cultivating it, nurturing it and fostering growth with it with love and energy. Divorce doesn't fix that constant truth that all relationships require work.
This sort of happy marriage, while still married, scenario is often seen in comments related to marriage & divorce. What these guys choose to overlook, - and I don't blame them, after all, they are already stuck where they are and would choose to hope for the best ie. cognitive dissonance - is that vast the majority of men presented papers by their wives (80% initiation) never see it coming. Let that sink in! Women will tell you, they check out often for years as part of a long-term plan, prior to executing their divorce to obtain maximum cash and prizes. While leaving the man totally unsuspecting. Women do this almost routinely in the execution of divorce. Again, let that truth sink in!!! You will never truly know that divorce is not just around the corner until you or she are on a deathbed.
It also depends on the person. There is a Vietnamese female TH-camr who married a German man. They dated for several years and lived under the same roof,
I just got back from a 3 week trip to Vietnam….found out that one of my cousin is living separated from his wife because he was caught cheating on his wife with his mistress whom he still sees….no divorce, just living separately…they are Catholics and divorce is looked on unfavorably
Societies have instill selfishness into modern life. Everyone for themselves. Older generations know how to be selfless. Live for the other person you love, when you love you give. A marriage includes 2 persons who are imperfect living together. Both parties need to be ready to forgive each other's imperfections and lower their expectations of each other. You work to be the perfect one in marriages and not expect your spouse to live up to your perceived standards when you do not work on yourself first. This is the reason why there are so many divorce everywhere. People are selfish and are materialistic.

From what I have seen living in Vietnam. Is that many Vietnamese women claim that their Husbands are not romantic and they are boring. They say the husband only wants to be around his friends to drink ,gamble and get drunk. This is not the case for all but I have seen it a lot. Usually see women with their children about but no husband around. Don’t want to disrespect Vietnamese because I really love living here but it is what I have observed.
Men aren't boring, women are boring. Women aren't romantic, men are. What are the women doing to spice things up? Men are getting tired of having to do all the work. While women do all the complaining.
When's the last time you saw a woman buy a dozen roses or a box of chocolate, or get down on one knee. Women aren't romantic, men are. Women expect men to be their constant source of entertainment

Making the same video from an American standpoint would be interesting. Vietnam is one of the few places where you can find a woman that treats herself with dignity and respect and that hasnt been tainted by birth control pills and only fans. If you come to Vietnam to marry a woman and start a family, be prepared to build wealth together and support that family. 'If you marry the girl, you marry the family'
@@duongglobalbusinessconsulting I should rephrase that, 'Making the same video in America, talking about American women and the divorce procedures etc... Vietnam won't be so bad when you start comparing the social fabric.
To many people get married because they fall in love with having sex. People (including my self) should treat married as a bond with GOD. In the west when getting married we say, till death do us part. Only to think, if it doesn't workout, we can get divorced. This is like braking a promise with GOD. People used to wait until after getting married before having sex. Once you give yourself to someone, there is nothing greater to give to that person. Another very big factor or contributor is that woman today are very independent just as you said. This takes away value from men and makes them become worthless. Or of little value. Having to many relationships can cause confusion in a relationship. In one's mind you start comparing one person to another. This one was great at this This one was great at that This one was very uncomfortable to be with in public. Before you know it, no one can fulfill all of one's needs and this is the downfall of having been with to many partners. I think it is good to wait before answering to a question or response. No matter who it is. Give it a thought before answering. Know the difference between React and Respond

A smart man will stay single forever , and never never never ever put any asset or property under name of wife or woman, but will instead never ever get married , and will put all assets and properties under his own name alone. This way, his assets and properties remain his till the day he leave world, and of course he need to make a will in advance . By following above advice, he remain financially secure, and women will always be chasing after him, and he dont need to chase after any woman , and it will be impossible for him to become destitute or poor
Look at Donald Trump. 😂 He’s smart and Rich and still with a beautiful woman. It just marriage only can afford by the rich nowadays. Wanting women to chase on you same as you are interested with men, as there is no soft spoken feminine woman that will chase men as she’s not a man. Unless this woman is desperate and nobody wants her.
What if the man wants to have children? Many countries recognise common law marriage. Philippines doesn't and as far as countries where the man is most protected I would say that would be the Middle East and the Philippines.
When people get married for life its a commitment. Maybe the divorce courts should have the judges flip a coin to decide which one becomes a widow or widower and which one becomes the widowee? Then they'll keep the commitment of marriage and we'll help reduce carbon footprints? Instead what we have is lots of people falling in love "until a swipe do us part" ... such commitment.
Great video, not much mention about prenups though and if they hold up in the courts...how about court corruption, does it exist in the world of divorce ?

From what I've heard, you need to learn the language. Large age gaps aren't as common in Vietnam. Older ladies are also less likely to be with foreigners, and are less likely to speak English. Younger women are more likely to speak English and be open to foreigners, but with a large age gap, it's more likely to be about resources. Not all of this is 1st hand info, so do due diligence. This is confusing to me, isn’t Vietnam one of the countries with the lowest divorce rates as of 2024? Like it was 0.2 per 1000 as compared to most Asian countries being around 1.5 to 2.5 or so?
@ and yet Vietnam is still one of the countries (as in, out of the entire world) with the lowest divorce rates. Divorce rates are climbing in every country. However, it is still orders of magnitude better than most Asian countries (which generally aren’t that bad as compared to western countries excluding East asia).
I understand your perspective concerning Western cultural influence. However, it saddens me to realize that many people around the world think of "disposable" marriages as being Western culture. The truth is that Feminism is the primary driver behind divorce rates in Western countries, not individualism. Feminism, as an ideology, seeks to instill a mindset in women that unless they fight against "the Patriarchy," they will continue to be oppressed. Therefore, every interaction with every man is a power struggle. If this sounds like Marxism, you're right on the money. This new form of "cultural Marxism" has been taking the West by storm for several decades, now, and has been successful in replacing our true values with degeneracy. Marriage was once greatly valued as the foundation of happy lives and societies. Having children was regarded as one of the most noble and virtuous contributions to society. And, above all that, marriages and raising families was an act of worship, a sacred vow made before God. Not just to love and cherish your spouse, but to pass on your understanding and knowledge of God to your children, giving them a firm foundation for them to develop their own relationship with their Creator. The West is grappling with these forces, that are eroding our values, morality and ethics, which have in their intent our overthrow from within. And, though, they did originate in the West, I don't call them Western.
I was not aware that you relocated to Vietnam, I would have call you to go have coffee when I visited VN a few months ago. Your bánh mì quotation was funny.
I have 2 Vietnamese wives one in Hanoi and one in Ho Chi Minh City. I feel like I can get away with this because neither know that I own a lot of real estate back in Canada. I pay cash for everything and have 2 kids with each. We rent only and I use the funds from my Canadian investments to pay for my life here.
And I bet that if a woman does the same to you, you would bitch and moan about Western feminism has destroyed femininity and caused women to play the field just like men.
Hi! Thank You!! I just subscribed! This is the first of your videos I have seen. Just popped up randomly and I clicked on it out of curiosity. That was it. Listening along as you describe the changing social dynamics. Interesting. Then you said, "Commit to us the way you would want your ex to commit to the marriage." Gosh, I needed a good laugh this morning! You really got me! Thanks again and I will watch your content and try to comment occasionally to help the algorithm! Have a great day!!

This is very helpful information. The changes are shocking. I don't agree that there is good in the transformation of Vietnam society. I will share later my ideas about love and marriage. Marriage is sacred is where we will start. But there is a big BUT.
Marriage used to be a sacred ritual. Now western people be like: "if you don't like it, why bother staying in the relationship?" Well, isn't that what dating is for? If you fail at marriage it means that you fail at recognizing the fatal flaw of the other person during the dating phase. It means you're hasty, doesn't look at things in long term, naive, not tolerance, insufferable, etc. Your failure at relationship or failure at anything should be considered shameful, and yes, we should also praise the successful ones as well. If we don't recognize failure as well as success, then where's the meaning of it? I mean if everyone are so forgiving, then people will not take any matter so seriously. Because you'll always hear something like "it's ok, it's normal to fail at... (bla bla bla)" Don't blame society for your short-sightedness/failure at life. Blame yourself for once for Christ sake. Relationship is hard. Finding true love and stick with it all the way to the end is hard. But it doesn't mean that marriage is doomed. It's like you can't ride a bicycle but blaming bicycle for having only two wheels. Well, others can. Why can't you?

This is not only Vietnam’s problem, it is worldwide. Knowing who you marry is very important and why you want to marry them. If you want the young and beautiful, of course, you know what they need. Love is not in the air anymore, it is in your wallet. But it doesn't mean there are no more Vietnamese women who truly love and care for the family. Vietnamese women are beautiful and caring, we always put our family first but if it is not a safe and happy place, we are not afraid to make things better, we can build and we can destroy it as well. As every woman in this world, we want a husband, a leader, and a provider so that we can have a safe home for our children and YOUR CHILDREN as well. Is it too much to ask?
And older gentleman made a speech at a wedding reception, he said “love” was overrated, that immediately shocked me, then he followed up with saying “commitment” is the most important element in a relationship. That true love will come from that commitment to each other. I think that’s exactly what’s missing in relationships today. It all made sense.
You know what they say. “Love is grand, divorce is a 100 grand”.
Marriage license is like $80 bucks. Divorce takes away all ur current assets and also ur paycheck for the next 20 years. U also pay for the lawyer who is helping ur wife take away all ur stuff.
Why...? Women want the money and lifestyle without the man...!😂😂😂
Wellcome to the western way of life...!😮
Second place the divorce lawyers go is the retirement accounts
I went back to Saigon to marry my high school sweetheart in 2000. After 24 years, I'm still with the same woman who also gave me 2 wonderful kids (a boy and a girl). We're crossing the half way mark of our lives on earth and planning to keep going to the finish line. 😎

Or at least don't sign a marriage contract with the government and study up on cohabitation laws if there is any.
Social media has ruined all relationships and it's a shame!
Lack of self control perhaps?
Has nothing to do with social media. This was already happening waaaaaay before social media took place. Social Media exposed it more!!
It’s more of not understanding one and another and one have too much pride. People think marriage is easy but don’t know how to make sacrifices for one and another or the kids.
In the first place does any man or woman that put more faith on social media than thing in reality suitable to be parent?
Especially OF (Only Fans). I swear most divorces are happening here in America is bc married men w/ a wife and kid(s) are wasting money on (a) girl(s) on OF and trying to reach out these girls on social media to actually meet up and go out on dates behind their wive’s backs.
How the hell does a women get your assets that are overseas?

The most lonely man is a married man whose wife no longer loves him .
He is stuck as he cannot have any relationship with anybody else,
while the woman ,
who is supposed to have a relationship with him and have sex with him ,
refuses to do so and even refuses to talk to him.
Compare that to a single but attractive and reasonably financially well off man, who can go with almost any woman or even with 10 to 30 beautiful women,
all at the same time, without having any problems , as long as he continue to stay single .
Unless there are kids involved, what would be the point to stay in such a marriage?

Dating culture and feminism in the West creeping into Vietnam.
It seems only Muslim keep things straight when it come to women and feminism, they don't recognize women's "rights" as extensively as other place.
Globalism
Honestly, it is also happening across south east asia.

Yip. Do not ignore the red flags 🚩

The west has to fall so that humanity lives

Rural people are more honest than than those who live in the cities... Not just in Vietnam, in every countries around the world
They all have smartphones and social media now.
Not most Korean men. There are some who do, but not most.

Philippines dude. Here divorce is skyrocketing
And even then it’s better to divorce than stay together miserably

This is informative and a shot fired …. Marriage is not worth it
Societies have instill selfishness into modern life.
I agree ☝️
Feminism has instilled selfishness into women, while teaching men selflessness, self-sacrifice, and endless streaming of guilt.

Take your time and really vet your spouce. I went to vietnam and found my wife. Im the happiest I've ever been and it's amazing.
Most vietnamese care about family. If your spouce doesn't then probably dont get married.
Happily divorced a vietnamese in Toronto. At the beginning felt like a failure, but now Im happy I got out of that nightmare.
I went to Vietnam, got married and love it. I agreed with my wife we go 50/50 on everything. Been married eight years and intend to stay together forever.
Maybe it is important we NEVER fight. Never. She is from a smaller town. My only marriage. Her only marriage. To her: Anh yêu em. 😊

You will never know what's in her head. But this is the same around the world.
I hope it continues to workout but coincidentally I recently met of up with a friend in Da Nang. For years he would say exactly what you're saying. Then suddenly out of the blue after 10 years of marriage his Vietnamese wife wanted a divorce. He is still in shock and thought they were happy he never suspected a thing.

I don't think he's only talking about mixed marriages
@@Misterioso62? The original post doesn’t even mention mixed marriages

If there is any problem with women in any country it meant that laws need to get changed.
We believe that is what we did. Attorney Ken is American. Please let us know whether we are mistaken.
This one was great at this
This one was great at that
This one was very uncomfortable to be with in public.
Before you know it, no one can fulfill all of one's needs and this is the downfall of having been with to many partners.
I think it is good to wait before answering to a question or response. No matter who it is. Give it a thought before answering.

Doing what is right does not require a time and a place to do it, you just do it.
@andrewcarlson2178 was a view with the problem in America. Was an oversight on my part to think that Vietnam had the same situation.
Sorry for the comparison.
Thanks for the warning.
A smart man will stay single forever ,
and never never never ever put any asset or property under name of wife or woman,
but will instead never ever get married ,
and will put all assets and properties under his own name alone.
This way,
his assets and properties remain his till the day he leave world,
and of course he need to make a will in advance .
By following above advice,
he remain financially secure,
and women will always be chasing after him,
and he dont need to chase after any woman ,
and it will be impossible for him to become destitute or poor
Look at Donald Trump. 😂
He’s smart and Rich and still with a beautiful woman.
It just marriage only can afford by the rich nowadays.
Wanting women to chase on you same as you are interested with men, as there is no soft spoken feminine woman that will chase men as she’s not a man.
Unless this woman is desperate and nobody wants her.
Are the women are doing the same? Keeping assets in their own names.

Wow, that's some morbid stuff. Divorce does not have to end in death. Just outlaw divorce. Let all couples live in misery. lol
@ellvtv….
That’s even more morbid.
Living with a lying cheater who wants you dead? No thank you.
Better yet, don't favor the woman, he said women are initiating the divorce

Thank you, this is really important worldwide.
Great video, not much mention about prenups though and if they hold up in the courts...how about court corruption, does it exist in the world of divorce ?
Thanks. We already mentioned prenups in an earlier video about marriage in Vietnam. Please check it out.

Marriage is like a bowl of Pho, it can be a hot mess.
I made a huge life mistake. I listened to my Vietnamese parent encouraged me to marry a traditional Vietnamese girl. So long story short, 2 years later i married a girl in Vietnam from an acquaintance that my parent knew very well in the US long ago. We are married for 3 yrs now, living in the US, and we separated. I wanted to know when can i get a divorce? Her attitude changed 180 and i hate it 😢

I'm an older gentleman. I'd love to move to VN find an awesome friend and future wife and live an rewarding and easy life. Again, I'm older, in good health, very considerate and caring. I really don't desire children. Just a partner to live and enjoy life with.
How silly do I sound. Come on be truthful. I can take it.

GOOD COLD DOSE OF REALITY
Saigon loves america. Students came from all over Vietnam to saigon and im witness how my friends change. Very shy in the beginning scared to talk English to foreigner. After few month they completely different and try to act like Americans. You tube is part of it. I looove Vietnam.
This is confusing to me, isn’t Vietnam one of the countries with the lowest divorce rates as of 2024? Like it was 0.2 per 1000 as compared to most Asian countries being around 1.5 to 2.5 or so?
How is it confusing? We talk about divorce rate doubling over the past 10 years.
@ and yet Vietnam is still one of the countries (as in, out of the entire world) with the lowest divorce rates. Divorce rates are climbing in every country. However, it is still orders of magnitude better than most Asian countries (which generally aren’t that bad as compared to western countries excluding East asia).
Divorce rates are low but apparently reported cheating levels are very high, particuarly husbands cheating on wives.
I like your line about the recipe to Pho analogy--very witty!
Good information Ken.
Glad you enjoyed it
I was not aware that you relocated to Vietnam, I would have call you to go have coffee when I visited VN a few months ago. Your bánh mì quotation was funny.
The worst thing about marriage is government. Absolutely no one should involve the government in their personal life.
Well done

If you hate to take pictures and videos because she is social media addicted dont marry
This is very helpful information. The changes are shocking. I don't agree that there is good in the transformation of Vietnam society. I will share later my ideas about love and marriage. Marriage is sacred is where we will start. But there is a big BUT.
Marriage used to be a sacred ritual. Now western people be like: "if you don't like it, why bother staying in the relationship?"
Well, isn't that what dating is for? If you fail at marriage it means that you fail at recognizing the fatal flaw of the other person during the dating phase. It means you're hasty, doesn't look at things in long term, naive, not tolerance, insufferable, etc.
Your failure at relationship or failure at anything should be considered shameful, and yes, we should also praise the successful ones as well. If we don't recognize failure as well as success, then where's the meaning of it? I mean if everyone are so forgiving, then people will not take any matter so seriously. Because you'll always hear something like "it's ok, it's normal to fail at... (bla bla bla)"
Don't blame society for your short-sightedness/failure at life.
