I think it has to do with the 5.4 has a 4 speed trans when the 5.0 has a 6 speed trans not really fair to say it’s slow when it has a worse trans

I’m glad some people are giving the 5.4 some credit it deserves. However besides the sound, the 5.0 f150 setup is superior in every other way as far as power and speed go. I have a 2002 f150 5.4 with 115,000 miles. Not quick, but always has torque when I need it and it has never left us stranded. I recently got a 2004 4Runner with the 4.0 v6 that pulls quite harder than the truck. But that’s partly due to the lower power to weight ratio and diff ratio. The 5.4 also gets decent gas mileage for trucks of that era. Both are 4 speeds. I think it would be interesting to see the 5.4 paired up with a better transmission with more gears than the inefficient 4 and 6 speed autos.

@@georgeeno_2815 I have a 2002 Supercrew FX4 with the 5.4. Different years but I also agree. 1st gear, especially when in 4low, makes me feel like I have all the torque of a diesel, but 2nd gear falls asleep. I think it’s because of the drastic change in the gear ratio. I think the 4 speed is outdated in terms for acceleration. I wonder if the newer 5.4s with the 6 speeds are any more fun to drive.

WARNING FORD FANS!!!! Scotty Kilmer says the 5.0L oil consumption problem is a Ford class defect that Ford won't admit to. All of Ford's work arounds don't address or fix the real problem..... which is that Ford used an aluminum block on these 5.0 engines, and didn't sleeve the cylinders. They used a ceramic coating in these cylinders (to save a few pennies), and this coating is either failing or it isn't working as it's supposed to, thus causing the massive oil consumption problem.

Not only do the 6” tips not look good, they sound like shit. I’m not sure what your obsession is with True Dual Exhaust as you call it. The sound and performance is increased when left and right exhaust pulses are balanced with a cross over like x or H pipe or just running both pipes into a single muffler.
