  • Hi Heathens! I wanted to provide my coming out story before moving any further with this channel. Some of you may know it already, but this helps with the context of future videos. There will be a video on asexuality in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that.
If you have any questions or if you would like to discuss some of my video topics in more detail, you can reach out to me on Instagram: @quan_taco98 as well as through email: deat0829@gmail.com

Devin, thank you for your openness, willingness to help others and for mentioning the detrimental mental health effects that are caused by those who are anti-gay. Some people reject gays based upon Leviticus 20:13, "If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."
The problem for those supporting the anti-gay verse is that NO ONE follows MOST verses in Leviticus. People are not being put to death for cursing their mother and father in verse 9, nor for adultery in verse 10. They are not performing animal sacrifices per chapters 1-9, nor are they breaking dishes when someone has a venereal disease per chapter 15.
When we read the new testament gospels we find that those who upheld Mosaic law were the ones out to harm and kill the one called Jesus. Jesus didn't follow all the Mosaic laws. He healed on the sabbath, his disciples weren’t fasting and he didn’t follow Leviticus 20:10 where those caught in adultery are to be killed. He instead said to the scribes and Pharisees, “He who is without sin, let him throw the first stone.” Jesus introduced new teachings to replace the old. John 13:34 states, “A new commandment I give you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”
For those who have a hard time accepting the LGBTQ+ community please read and ponder the following words from Rod McKuen, (not an exact quote, but close). "It does not matter who you love or how you love, but that you love. The good in man is God made manifest and loving is the contribution to that good and to that only God. For in the end the act of loving anyone is the act of loving God."
People should realize that breaking dishes for venereal disease, opposing gay relationships, animal/human sacrifice to appease God should be categorized as primitive, outdated beliefs. I hope the LGBTQ community realizes that they can be spiritually minded, caring, loving and find their own spiritual path. There are some gay friendly churches where some have found support and acceptance.

😪 I am always so sad to learn about people who go through what you went through. Why, as humans, do we feel the need to disparage others in so many ways? Glad to hear that you have processed these things, and especially that you are doing well. Looking forward to following your channel. All the best.

So interesting to hear your story. Many aspects of your experiences parallel mine. I was raised in an ultra conservative Catholic family and kicked out of the family at age 18 (back in 1976) I’ve made some aspects of peace with my family over the years. I am demisexual. Hope you are well. Sending lots of hugs 🤗

I also just started my TH-cam channel and spoke about my coming out story! It's really something that gains confidence (which I did not and got so uncomfortable I had to end the video) and I'm so proud you were able to do it. Me, on the other hand, was not able to go more in Depth 😂

That’s awesome! It’s definitely a difficult step to take, but it can be freeing. Not everyone is ready for that though, and that’s totally valid. Flowers take time to bloom, but when they do it truly is beautiful.😊

Thanks for sharing your story. I also had a problem with my religion and my sexuality and at the age of 21 decided that the church, made up of imperfect human beans, was wrong. So I stopped going. I have since met some insightful clergy, one of which said that to go against my nature and be with a woman was the "sin". I totally agree. Still don't go to church but consider myself to be a Christian and a spiritual being.

So similar background ! Being brought up in a Christian environment & hearing how much SIN you're committing (in your mind) led me to a Suicide attempt. followed by Professional help & then avoidance on the issue by Parents. Wasn't until my Mom asked me point blank: "Are YOU a HOMO-Sex-ual?" & I said "YES" !!

I grew up in the 80s in eastern rural NC where you’d get your ass killed or kicked for coming out. You didn’t dare come out if you wanted an education or a decent job. I got married and had a kid, growing up in a Jehovah’s Witness home, that’s what you did (although i didn’t stay a JW). I was in my 30’s when I finally came out. Now days if you come out as a JW, they say it’s ok to be gay, just as long as you don’t act on it… WTF? I hunted, I fished, I went sailing, I did everything str8 guys did, only difference was I was sexually actively gay since I was 13 or 14 (mostly with other Jehovah’s Witness boys since that’s who we were allowed to sleep over with. When I finally did come out, it shocked the whole damn family, nobody had a clue! But it’s never been easy.

Sweet story--or maybe bittersweet. Sounds like you're doing well now, and that's good. Definitely can't pray away the gay...lol And I hope you were not abused by conversion "therapy." It's now illegal in 20 states and over 100 municipalities. It is recognized by both the American Psychiatric Association and the American Psychological Association as unethical. Keep doing well...I wish you the best.

I think that you and your partner can just state candidly that sex is a rather violent and intrusive act and I think you will find that anyone with an objective awareness of this issue will agree to that fact. Some people like it so much subjectively that they never reach this awareness

So slightly off topic. I grew up in an evangelical house. One of the most absurd things to me was the idea that Satan, a being thousands of years old, would possess people. How many thousands of years does it take one guy to figure out that possessing people does the opposite of what his goal is supposed to be?

There is a great movie called "30 Days of Night" starring Josh Hartnett. A small Alaskan town is besieged with vampires for 30 days of complete darkness.
Woman screaming as vampire approaches, "Oh, God... please help me!"
    Vampire says, "No, God!"
ABSOLUTLEY Brilliant!! I'm sure you are not into horror movies, but it definitely creates a truth.
FUCK EVERYONE... live your life as you see fit.👍🏻🙂

It's the only two sons worth caring about, Jesus told me that..
Now if you want to get into heaven you need to follow my directions!
First of, the biggest sin of them all is to love!
If you hate homosexuals, God wants you to break 5 out of the 10 commandments.
There you go, hating someone who never hurt anyone and breaking half of God's simple law for humanity is your ticket to heaven!
