    I rented BMW G650 GS when I went on holiday back home. Although I only used it on normal road it performed amazing. It was an 360 km trip with , with bends and scenic views.
    It's a bike that won't let you down , and trust me it has all the power it needs.

      It sertainly is a bike that is missing from the current bmw lineup. Or any other manufacturer to be frank.

    Thanks a lot for the review! I'm planning a trip to a very remote place where fuel stations will be a problem.
    What are your thoughts on the range of the Sertão? How many KM can you make with a tank? Did you take extra fuel with you on your longer trips?
    Thanks again!

    • @PatchedBandit
      @PatchedBandit  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If I remember right the consumption was somewhere around 4-5L/100km. I did carry a small 1.5L canister on my longer trips just in case.
      Sertao gives pretty good range but plan your stops ahead of time if you have a place with very few fueling stations. We have one TET stretch in lapland that this bike probably could not pass without extra fuel too. But that's the case with most bikes.
      Good thing about the sertao is that it's not too picky on the fuel quality.

I gave up and started looking for something in the same price range . I found a really nice, not a scratch on it Sertao with only 4,000 miles on it . I am so glade I didn't get the rally . The sertao is so much more comfortable .

    Hello mate, how about the vibrations? I like this bike but I fear the vibrations on the highway at 120/130, how are your feelings about this?

    • @PatchedBandit
      @PatchedBandit  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It does vibrate more than any parallel twin that is for sure. Not the worst thumper but not the smoothest either. It's a large 650cc single cyl engine so vibrations are there for sure.
      I got used to them myself but hands do get "tingly" sometimes.
      Also It's not the greatest bike to do 120-130 for long distances. This bike is happier doing 100 when traveling especially with luggage. 120+ the engine does feel a bit stressed and out of puff even though it can do it.
      With this in mind I would recommend looking in to the light parallel twin bikes.
      This being said many people have travelled with these bikes all around the world so the vibrations can feel a bit much at first but it's something most people get used to.
      Also if you buy one of these they should be pretty easy to sell if you feel like it's not for you after a while.

      I recently went 14T and 45T and the rpms are up quite a bit but way more torque at slower speeds-quite noticeable. I have a Touratech high seat and progressive suspension and just switched from Metzeler Karoo3 tires (70/30ish tires) to Michelin Anakee (30/70ish) and there’s way less vibration.

    Hello From México. What battery (Brand, model) are you using ?

    • @PatchedBandit
      @PatchedBandit  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I had a Shorai battery in this bike but I've had 3 bikes with BS batteries since that and I prefer BS batteries. Quality is better and I killed one shorai battery letting it go empty but one of my BS batteries that drained didn't die so maybe there is some protection against discharge on these BS batteries that Shorai didnt' have.

      Oisko toka video minkä ikinä tein.. toivottavasti uudemmat on jo parempia 😅 Tästä on tosi vähän matskua netissä niin hyvä ku tein jotain kuitenki ennen myyntiä.
      Tää oli tosi asiallinen pyörä ja ketterä myös tarpeentullen, jos vertaa näihin uusiin 'keskikokoisiin', jotka on kaikki enemmän ja vähemmän ylipainosia.
      Ton yksipyttyisen luonne ei nosta hiuksia pystyyn, mutta siinä riittää kivasti vääntöä kaikkeen normiajoon, kunhan muistaa pitää matkatavarat kevyenä 😊 Mulla oli tässä yhen reissun isot metalliboxit kiinni ja sitä en suosittele.. liikaa tuulenvastusta ja painoa tällaselle kevyelle adv pyörälle.
      Jos voisin pitää kaikki pyörät mulla ois tää edelleen tallissa. Tosi kiva laite ja aivan varmasti on hyvä ostos 💪 Nähdään keväällä poluilla 😊

      I bought a ne Tenere 700 and I probably got something like 5000 € for the Sertao with full hard luggage system. I paid something like 6900 € for the bike when I bought it though. One thing is important to understand when we talk about Finland and bike prices. In Finland bikes cost way more than in most of the world due to taxes so this will reflect also on used bike market. The bike I Buy for 7K here is probably 4K in other parts of this planet 😅

      @@PatchedBandit thank you for the info. While maybe not as high as Finland, bike prices (like everything else) in the US have gone up a lot in the past few years. Used bike prices are up significantly over historical price levels from a decade or so ago. I think it’s simply a demand pull effect because of the big increase in the number of people riding motorcycles. The increase in motorcycle use in the US over the past 10-15 years has really surprised me. Especially the rise of ‘adventure’ bikes and off road riding. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the Yamaha. I’m continuing my search for a Dakar or Sertao.
