2005Ranger. I can’t figure out where the power cable coming off my alternator is going. It’s neither the starter/solenoid or battery. Any help would be great.
Removing the fusible link is not a good idea. The fusible link is the "skinny wire" you mentioned. It is always a smaller gauge section of wire on the power feed from the alternator so if there is a short in the alternator. it melts and disconnects before your car catches fire. The boot over the power connection is not to prevent water intrusion, it is to minimize the chance you hit that to ground. Also that is a poor location to put the ground wire. If it loosens and touches the power terminal since you removed the fusible link your car burns to the ground.
The kit's power wire is fused. The day after I recorded this video I received boots for both lines, so no possibility of either touching (plus it's very secure, it's not loosened one bit).
Unfortunately there is no longer a link, the person making these kits has taken a step back. You can still message him on facebook and I believe he can make a kit. It's Jeremy Howell on facebook
Was there any codes , Before the change. After putting my novi 2200 on , boost air/ fuel gauge. The first day got the PO134 driving at night with heater on then about a year later same deal . I have had this set up about two years, only twice have had that issue. The second time the radio was making that wining noise . Was shop installed I figured the alternator is slowing going out .I guess the 05/07 have alternator issues that causes that code. Might try the wire kit first definitely couldn’t hurt. Thanks for the videos from a subscriber. Found your channel when you where doing the 6r80 swap . Still on my stock 5 speed auto also looking TCI trans the 1025 hp one but 3700 dollars is a lot of money .Already did the TCI TQ Converter 3500 stall, Do to cams love it . Don’t know how long this trans will hold up. 60k miles on car about 7000 on 10 lbs boost been trying to take easy on it . The last two things I need to do are trans and reared, But I think the trans is first .
Didn't have any codes but this wire kit is definitely worth a shot! I'd probably stay away from the TCI 5R55S, I've heard not so great things about it. If you're going to stick with the 5R I'd suggest looking into a Level10 5R55S. Otherwise a 6R80 is pretty cheap comparatively
Hey man love the content about to put this same kit on my 05 and had a question for you, I saw you installed the Super Single in a past video and I was curious did the super single kit come with everything needed to do the degas tank bypass mod or did you have to source additional parts for that? Thanks in advance
Too bad that auto manufacturers don't do a better job on their electrical designs. Anyway, I noticed that there was no mention of a fusible link on the alternator wire . I guess they did something different on this Mustang. My 2002 Mustang has a fusible link on the alternator wire at the battery.
what size fuse comes with the kit?

There is a fuseable link, does this kit come with one?
Link for the kit?

I do see they offer a version that has a 200 amp fuse on the power wire, that would work in place of the fusible link.

@@JuryRigGarage so it cane with a fuse in the wire already? And what is boots?
Where in the northwest are you? I was in Beaverton or with a built 07 mustang gt
Great vid too !
Thanks for the video. I’m going to upgrade the alternator on my 2001 Honda CRV
Do you mind dropping the link?
I’m trying to get those but the link in video doesn’t work.
Thanks man!

Hey g hope it’s not too late but I would consider checking and cleaning your grounds it throws out a bunch of codes
I cleaned my grounds and all of the electrical issues went away
Wassup bro that wire for the negative would that considered a engine Ground wire
It's an additional ground for the alternator, it could be considered an engine ground as it is bolted to it.
@@JuryRigGarage at 7:50 , I have a red wire just like that on the negative side , what does it connect to ?

The SS heat exchanger came with brackets and hardware only. I purchase the two 1"x1"x3/4" "T" style fitting, they're pretty cheap.

I believe there is a fuse in the stock wiring
That's almost the BIG 3 upgrade
