That makes sense but I think it’s more likely traded-with zombie villagers will be removed from the mob cap than that they will have lazy-loaded non-president mobs do despawn checks.
Omg 22:30 was too good, was dying over here. Thank you for the explanation of spawn chunks, lazy chunks, and chunk loaders - really helped a ton. Also I like your outro message, it's good to hear people say that. Also I'm going to download the world just so I can press the wither button
Shulker mob switches are really easy together with the scaffolding farms if you build them in the overworld. They teleport upwards naturally anyway. You can put the storage sandwich on top of the farm and you are done. Or move them a few chunks to the side if you want to have farm and switch independently.
I just finished building a slime farm surrounded by water in a swamp biome, dropped down from the roof, only to be greeted by two creepers standing on the sand wall that kept the farm from being flooded. And of course they blew a giant hole into it. Thought the intro was very fitting. Edit: thank you for those final words
small tip, for overword mob switch, build the switch for chunk loader in the overworld, so you don't have to reduce render distance to 1 everytime you try to turn on the mob switch; for nether, the switch in overworld
Regarding 15:44 Not sure how many people will see this, but AFAIK the world spawn is always in the north west corner of the chunk it is in. If you have a body of water in the NW corner of the chunk, the world spawn will be set to the first spawnable(e.g. grass block) block that is closest to NW corner.
pro tip, if you give all of the zombie villagers netherite helmets, then they won't die in sunlight without a roof. that way you can save on 1 concrete block, since you don't need a roof over them.
@@ivagnarok actually so long as they don't take damage from any other source, it'll last forever, as netherite doesn't lose durability from fire damage, and zombies burning in the sun is fire damage
PRO TIP : if you have shulker farm turn it into mob switch ( 12:38 n use this part of video to understand about chunk loader n how far away to put your chunk loader
I didn't know mobs picking up something or name tagged aren't counted as mobcaps. You save tons of my time. And one thing I am struggling is Warden can attack us if we stand on Shrieker despite of the other sound. Same thing happened ilmango's skyblock episode 17. Fully covered by wool also doesn't save me. Luckly I'm not playing hardcore tho.
Would an elder guardian mob switch work? Even though it would be a pain in the ass to build. Also, theoretically, if it were possible, would an enderdragon mob switch work?
Elder guardian yes, but ender dragon won‘t. Firstly the end doesn‘t have spawn chunks and I don’t think there are chunk loaders for it so you‘d have to bring it to the otherworld and then contain it somehow
I think so, it would be 1 hell of a rask tho. Elder guardians just rewuire you to move aquatic mobs that keep you from miming blocks over thousands of mobs without them drowning, but the enderdragon switch is ludicrous. Using the same technique as docm used to get a dragon to the overworld, but 70 times.
Does the Warden mob switch also stop warden's from spawning elsewhere in other Ancient Cities? I have built ilmango's Warden griefer but just wondered if I can kill two birds with one stone.
Haven’t watched the full video, but pretty sure elder guardians and witches that spawned from huts also have the same properties as shulkers. Probably not really practical though
As Yury said, for a server my big recommendation would be a shulker switch. They do less processing without pathfinding and you get a shulker farm out of it. We can greatly reduce the collisions in the Zombie and Warden ones that will still work on a server without extreme lag, but still a little bit. The key factor for server is where to build it. Don't; build it n an area that is traveled to often so that all the shulkers are loaded when players travel by
Hi! I play in my singleworld and made a mob switch in end dimension. I have already 71 mobs there but still 4-6 endermans appear when i enter. Mb you know why is that?
I used this one in the overworld, you need to align it correctly though. For nether i recommend the shulker sandwich design with chunk loader and it put it somewhere out of the way where you don't mind there being no mobs.
I recommend either shulkers or wardens for the nether, just send the wardens through a portal or don't send the shulkers back to the overworld. And all these designs are easy to turn off by turning off the chunk loader if not built in spawn chunks
So I have a end build I want to do I’d like to have a shulker farm as well as a mob switch to stop enderman from spawning. Is it possible to have a working shulker farm near a loaded mob switch?
I have a question though... I have farms around my spawn chunk area which includes, villagers, zombies, bees... And iron golems spawning. Will this interfere with that?? I feel like it would probably would with my iron farm
This is for hosting mobs, so it might interfere if you have a zombie farm, but it still works if its a spawner, i think. It only keeps mobs from spawning, doesnt despawn old ones
I am aware that Ian has a design using silverfish. I don't trust mojang not to patch that, hence I did not address it to future proof the vid.
Minecraft spawn chunk changes rekt this vid. Lol
@@ghostmachine6285 Not really. You need to do this closer to spawn or do a chunk loading option; that’s all.
That makes sense but I think it’s more likely traded-with zombie villagers will be removed from the mob cap than that they will have lazy-loaded non-president mobs do despawn checks.

If zombie villagers get items when converting, they still count to the cap. (Just not if they pick them up)

You forgot the most practical and easy to build mobswitch:
The one using elderguardians ;P
LOL the Frozen theme for sailors

In my opinion, wither mob switches are even quicker to setup bcs you basically just need some bedrock on the nether roof and a soul sand conveyor belt

because if you were to play on the server with a lot of people, no mob will ever spawn considering how much naming people to
I just made a warden mob switch to work on my 8 ocean monuments😂 what a coincidence

it's realy nice video! like it
You can also use silver fish

No, but ilmango does have a video on a trick to disable all warden spawning tho
Goat is correct, this does not stop wardens. that is a different mechanic to "overload" a shrieker.

40:10 ❤️ thank you
rip those zombies
These are all great options for single player, but what would you recommend for multiplayer servers with 6 or so people?
You need 70 mobs per player so it could be laggy depending on your server
As I understand, shulker switch would be best. It can be automated, it's a bit less laggy, and you get a shulker farm
@@GOAT_GOATERSON mobs in lazy chunks aren't laggy.

Is there a way to turn off the shulker mob switch easily? Also, what would you recommend for a mob switch in the nether?
You either put it away from the spawn chunks and chunk load or look for another design.

warden swich

No. Only overworld
The chunk loaders loafs the same space in the overworld and the nether
what is the sticky piston is for at the villager breeder in zombie villager mob switch?

does this work on Spigot in 1.21?
32:38 Can I make a glass block box instead of the panes so they can’t see me? or does it have to be panes
if you do, you need to teleport-proof the exterior to make sure the tp to the inside of the box

extreme sound muffler
how would you turn it off? with stopping chunk loader?
Yes
