holy shit I was just listening to settled talk about how hard legends quest would be without a guide, typed in 'legends quest unguided', and found this video had been uploaded 15 minutes ago lmao
It makes me wonder if our lovely Swampman has been watching this series while editing and wanted to give a little free nudge in the ol' algorithm to an up-and-coming creator?
Settled? Having trouble with a quest without a guide? And here I am, playing quests without guides and having a great time. Legends Quest is one of my favourites.
I find it funny that the quest the player is given is "map the jungle and make friends with the locals". That's what qualifies you as a legend, and it's done in 10 minutes. The whole thing with the pure water and the possessed shaman and all the skill checks is an unintended side trek.
You can do it without 90rc. As not to spoil you, i won't say more. Remember, this quest was made for Runescape classic which didn't even have runecraft at the time (it was created at the time of RS2's release to solve the issue of runes being extremely rare and expensive).
Thanks again for the donation ❤️ the continued support really means so much to me, thank you. Don’t worry aha, you’ll see what I get up to regarding the soul rune in the next episode 👀
I'm doing this quest right now for the first time in 20 years and was remembering how hard it was back in the day when quest guides were primitive, and how all the resources we have these days save so much time. I appreciate this video series because it brings me back to the olde daes.
Just binge watched every episode over the last couple of days. An absolute insane task you've undertaken and I've enjoyed every second of it. Major props to you, looking forward to more!
Got here from everyone talking about it on Settled's video and putting this on in the background while I work. Very enjoyable series and definitely looking forward to more!
Yee haw!!! 🎉🎉 Been so excited for this one. Some other quests down the line I’ll be super looking forward to are Lunar Diplomacy, Desert Treasure, and Mourning’s End Part 2. That one will probably be a 10 hour special lol. I’m fully along for the ride however long it lasts.
Mourning's End Part 2 has some really unfair bits if you're not using a guide. (I know because I tried to do it unguided and finally gave up!) Looking forward to some wild strategies like blowing-up-the-witch's-house 2.0
Caught this upload within the first 15 minutes. I've been excited for Legends' Quest ever since this series started. It's a beast of a quest even _with_ a guide. This is going to be a good episode.
Fuck yeah! Legends Quest is one of my favourite quests in the game. Truly one of the last few quests that don't hold your hand but are still amazing. I love the story of the quest, I love the whole Ungadulu part. Man, I spent 2 fucking days beating this quest without a guide and I loved it.
Are there enough in-game hints/clues in the OSRS version to make it possible to complete without a guide? I see that Runescape Classic probably has sufficient hints for certain parts, but not sure if OSRS does as well.
I just finished catching up with this series, this is by far the most interesting and engaging OSRS content I’ve seen. It’s the only series I’ll actually sit down and watch rather than just have playing in the background. Well done, very much looking forward to more!
Haven't even started watching and I know this will be one of the quests that really gives hell 😂 love you bro thanks for the uploads and entertainment ❤
Your enthusiasm and appreciation for the game is so nice, LOL!! Like when you appreciate the legends guard looking cool and all that. It really is so endearing and makes me want to take note of things like that too when I play
This is by far my favorite OSRS series i have watched every episode and been following from the beginning. Keep it up i look forward to the most deserved quest cape ever seen!
Hey, I really like the edits you put in here. It keeps it fun and engaging. I know it's not easy, and you could likely just upload without, but I appreciate the work you put in. It definitely pays off! 😁👍🏻 Keep it up, Hoss. 😎👉🏻👉🏻
When I saw your Legend's Quest vid on my recommendations list I knew I had to go try it myself before watching. Made so many trips in & out of the caves with different items & some confusion, but at least I had fairy rings & looked up some stuff. Thanks for motivation!
Yall we need to get this man more subs views and likes this is such an underrated series and dang i like underdogs 😂😂 but in all honesty with how many guides and tutorials exist this man is an absolute "legend" for doing osrs this way.❤
Found you from the most recent Josh Isn't Gaming video and binged this all in the last 2 days. I am loving this. Keep it up! I can't wait for the next video.
I encountered this series 2 days ago, good stuff. very enjoyable. small tip that may be handy, if you talk to the ranged and mage tutor in lumbridge, you can toggle that if you pick up ammo that they go directly into the ammo slot if you have that ammo already equipped. and for runes that they go into a rune pouch if you have those runes in there already
Something to be mindful of when youre searching for solutions to puzzles. And I dont know if theres a good way for you to have this info, but theres a lot of updates that have become unintentional red herrings, much like in family crest and the 'desert'. But especially with those older quests, discount any solution you're considering that you know was added to oldschool since it became oldschool.
I’ve binged these videos and I’m clearing them fast. I find this content as enjoyable as J1mmy or Limpwurt or King Condor videos. I hope a larger portion of the osrs community finds you.
i think osrs quest cape without guides is an achievement akin to 100%ing Through the Fire and Flames on expert on guitar hero, or like, getting a masters degree
This is the greatest series time and time again, you even adhere to your upload schedule and that's nice compared to some other series out there right now :)
Thank you for the kind words! Haha I’m proud I’ve managed to keep the schedule up for this long, hoping there’s not a quest that blocks that… ehem… Legends’ quest might block this 😵💫 hopefully not tho 😂
The Yanille HCUIM, Josh Isn't Gaming, recommended your channel. I've blasted through all your episodes already and can't wait for more. Keep it up man!
Man i feel like the latter half of this quest is going to be insane for you! Also just saw you pop up on the Yanille chunk series doing some castle wars. Glad to see other content creators recognizing the crazy good stuff you've been doing
Something about this quest is really awesome, the environment is super cool and it's genuinely a little creepy at times (quite an achievement in a game that looks like osrs). Reminds me of Underground Pass a bit; the writing back then was just so much better.
Absolutely, they've never managed to return to this era's unique charm. We were at the pinnacle of quest writing, and didn't know it until years later.
@@DZ-X3 And with minimal dialogue! I think the big downfall of today's quests is all the exposition, rather than letting the environment do the storytelling for you. Sure, the Kingdom Divided plot was pretty cool from a narrative perspective, but playing through it was some of the most boring and frustrating shit I've ever done in rs, and I dread doing that quest on every mid level account I create.
Honestly this series is great and is exactly how i figured playing Runescape unguided would be. Like most of the puzzles are actually so well designed in that most of them aren't stuck with madman logic, but you do need to record notes separately to record where youre at with things. Because trying to contain all of the information off of the top of your head is just not practical. It's a much older approach to game design that doesn't really exist anymore in modern games. Like modern gaming is based a lot on handholding and recording all information in-game for you, but old games assume that if you're a gamer, then you've plenty of time to waste, because that's what you're already doing. But also fuck that - I want my qol unlocks, and my unique quest items, so I am going to use a guide all day over constantly backtracking and trial and erroring. But it does make a great show
Honestly, a lot of the old Runescape quests would've been easier on release than they are now because at the time quests would release alongside new NPCs, locations, and items that existed solely for that new quest. When you play now, there's no way of knowing which NPCs were introduced with which quest and which ones simply exist as part of the world. Killer series. Can't wait to see if Legends Quest is a two-parter or a three-parter. 😁
I just completed this quest the other day! Even with a guide it took me forever. The amount of things you can fail over and over just makes the long trips to the bank even worse.
Yes man just caught up! Was recommended your series a couple weeks ago, finally started watching the other day and watched the whole thing in a few days! Awesome stuff man keep it up, the rest of Legends Quest is gonna be rough (though as you read this I assume you're done already, not sure how far in advance you record)
Just finished watching this episode. I know there’s likely some monster that drops soul runes but it would be hilarious if he just ends up getting the runecrafting level since he has no way of knowing what would drop them 😅
The ending to this video highlights why I am so glad I did my own unguided quests on a non-ironman account. I do still try to source everything myself where reasonable to do so, but when a Level 50 quest suddenly demands a Level 90 rune with no warning, I feel somewhat vindicated in saying "screw it, Grand Exchange." For me it would be a choice between that or using the wiki to find out where to get Soul Runes, and I'd rather preserve my pseudo-unguided status than my pseudo-ironman status. Next episode should be an interesting watch, given that I still to this day do not know where to get Soul Runes from.
One day you will learn to carry basic quest items with you when you start a quest. Example: spade ,bucket, knife, axe, pickaxe, chisel. Will make banking less frequent as most quests use these items.

I literally went on my phone to comment the same thing! This is wild.
I knew this would happen, didn't think it would be today
That's actually awesome for Alien. Very good timing for some free indirect promo.
I was anticipating this video while watching that one 😂😂 didn't realize how close it would be following!
It makes me wonder if our lovely Swampman has been watching this series while editing and wanted to give a little free nudge in the ol' algorithm to an up-and-coming creator?

edit: 🥷

"nothing interesting happens" gets me every time. you can hear the pain in your voice
No idea why this channel hasn't blown up, it's as good if not better than early by release in my opinion
Honestly this series is starting to get quite impressive with what you’re achieving! One of the best by far, seriously enjoyable content keep it up!
Thanks so much Jozda! Really appreciate the support
