Another way for them to move unwanted crap: PUT SHIT ON CLEARANCE EVERY NOW AND THEN. My goodness, man. For a company that makes money to the point they don't know what to do with it, they sure are hesitant to let their customers save a buck or two. And fix your fucking website.

See, this is why some people run hugely successful businesses and others dont. The primary goal of a business is to generate a profit, and if they can spend $0.01 on a promo to sell something that would otherwise need to be discount >50% to move then they'd be stupid not to. If everyone hates it that much, then they still won't shop there - but you can bet that 90+% of people complaining about this are still buying.
They could have at least used some new artwork for those promo cards

great video. can you make a video on how ebay is letting all the fake bidders bid up popular items. thats how all these card prices have been going nuts because a group of ebay sellers bid up each others cards so they can sell theirs for more, then they move onto the next card and leave everyone holding the card go down in a sinking ship... proof for fake accounts can be found in the bidding history.
This is called shill bidding and it's been an issue for centuries.
If you feel there are fake bidders then don't bid. As far as i know they still have a buy it now feature.
Not every listing has a buy it now feature though. Some are just exclusively for bidding
What this guy said and the fake accounts that are posting high priced items they don’t own and putting insurance on said items just so they can open a claim on. Basically a dumbed down version of insurance fraud. If the account doesn’t have more than 50 sold items with feedback, I ain’t buying! Not to mention usps stealing mail

What people should do is simply not buy from scalpers. If no one buys from them, maybe they will stop
Danny Phantum made a video some time ago just showing how much of this dead product he has due to distributors forcing people to get them in order to get desirable product. It's so silly. If I was the Pokemon Company, I would create two Premade Deck products that are Meta or somewhat good with everything you need per rotation/standard. That's it, no battle academy or 5 different garbage them decks. If you want to give it a collector value or something, just stamp the cards. If you want to take it further, just toss in an exclusive series prize pack with cards that synergizes with the decks to slightly differentiate each theme deck and introduce newcomers to the world of opening packs to get cards that fit your team. This will also give the decks some collector value.
This is just them trying to get rid of their dead stock, hilarious but I get it business is business. They could've had extras too you never know. Also gives other people a chance to get these promos for cheaper. If people bought them when they were expensive I understand being frustrated. The pikachu on the ball was disgustingly scalped, they did good making it more available, we don't like gatekeeping here😂. Now I hope they print the victini promos that were region exclusive
If they weren't released in such a poor fashion, like all the other exclusive promos, there would be no need to reprint them. There's a happy medium where everyone can get one from the event if around for it and remain special to that event. The thieves and scalpers are long gone with their bag from these and won't be impacted. Pikachu on the ball was a disaster waiting to happen with the initial intended release.
Are you fckng kidding me???????? The squirtle promos are the only reason I went to buy from the UK to ship to Europe. I could have bought the 151 UPC way cheaper elsewhere and mot had to pay customs, shipping and taxes if that was the case. Scumbags. But then they can’t reprint the Van Gogh stuff when it matters.
Nobody seems to care that they "screw it up every time"... they certainly line up for it and if they can't, they still buy it aftermarket, as demonstrated.
I'd argue it's the opposite... they have figured it out. Pretty well, too.

It's not just spending, it sucks for the people who went to the event and waited in line to get something special and exclusive to that event.
The bundles without the cards are garbage, but the stuff with booster packs was worth it. How is this any different than the Van Gogh Pikachu promo though?
With Van Gogh, they needed the terms and details clear and available from the start. So much chaos could have been avoided by simply saying that everything will be available on Pokemon Center, every Van Gogh item will come with a promo and will be replenished if necessary.

I just saw these thru a email and ordered the eevee and Pikachu plushes and the blastoise & Venasuar preconstructed decks for 49.99 . Didnt seem like a bad deal for 50 bucks and it went thru, was better than when they were when they were going for $150 to $200 on eBay when they were Europe exclusives. Hopefully I get it now and I dont get fudged over, I just finished my sealed futsol promos also I found the last one I needed at a local antique consignment shop here in Connecticut. I really Hope I get the Pokémon Together Stamped Cards cause I collect Eevee's and Pikachu's that have stamps. If they dont come with the order i just made I'm gonna be upset.
It is interesting to see that even Pokemon Center Online realizes that there are products that just don't sell / have consumer value. Hopefully someone is making notes and learning to print less of this stuff. As a store, we buy this same product - but we don't have the opportunity to stamp cards and make bundles.
Sadly Pokemon is still the best at maintaining their demand even whilst over doing runs. Hasbro, Mattel and Funko are the biggest violators. Even LEGO has become pretty awful at re-releases.

I felt the same way when pokemon go started having event days. I had a spot that i went to that had magikarps. I evolved 15 or so garys because it is my favorite. I had something cool that not alot of people around me had. Then they had a magickarp day. I was no longer special. Same with all of them. Had something cool that you worked hard on? Who cares, everyone has it now with little to no effort. I quit.

Isn't the whole 'true collector' mindset that even if everything goes to zero then it doesn't matter because they just love the cards? If the card was super valuable and now becomes cheap, we just buy more, right?

I think you missed something here. They botched a promo release and are now making that event promo insignificant. The criticism is less about them dumping overproduced junk and more about how easy it would be to make a new promo and set events up to be less frustrating for fans.
@@RattlePokemon There is no obligation to make promos significant. The Pokemon Company announced they wanted to over produce cards before S&V released to combat scalpers, this should be anticipated.
The price kinda made me wanna pass on these esp. not being full art or anything I think if they did it when you spend 30 or more you get them I’d be more interested but having to spend 50/60 bucks for a bunch of stuff you don’t need no packs plushies and decks just isn’t it.

The fact they reprinted 151 was ridiculous starting to think should i sell my collection now rather then later ive got a completed 151 set any card after like 165 i have graded psa 9 and 10s and i have these promos in psa 9 aswell ....
Why is reprinting 151 ridiculous? It's a current rotation set with huge demand... Makes more sense to reprint that than just about anything else.

Everyone needs to stop complaining. Buy it if you want and if you don’t then don’t. No one is forcing people to buy them. The Pokemon company is a business and when you have products that don’t sell then find a way to sell them.
Point is that they should have found another way or created another promo.

Someone didn't watch. Price doesn't matter, it was a botched release and now screwing over the people who waited at the event to get something special. I promise that I'm not upset that I paid $100 instead of $50 on a single set. Chase singles I open on every release have that same price and drop.

Not worried about the $100 or whatever it was for the pair. Suck a bit, sure, but wouldn't say that hurts. Them being less special to that event/release is more disappointing. That release should have been better and cards should have been available to everyone who wanted to participate.

Shitty move, but as always, it works 😅 I bought one of the bundles trough a friend, as I want the english version of these promo cards. Was only able to get the German and French version, without paying on the secondary market in Europe 🫣😅
