Dallas Card Show Vendor POV | Kid Steals $500 Of Cards From Binder | Cons of Being A Vendor
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 11 ก.ค. 2024
- Vending at shows, especially Dallas Card Show, is always fun, but there is cons of being a vendor also. People try to steal and take advantage of you being alone while you have to interact with multiple people. Sometimes they even hand over to you cards that they looking to sell or trade to keep you distracted, which is what this kid did. Later that day I confronted the kid (not in camera) because my guts were telling me he was the one who stole them from me and he accepted of doing it. He didn't say though how many he took, only when I was editing the video I saw the reality of how much he took. This video purpose is just to show people who are looking to vend in shows that is not all the time all happy and good time, you have to be really focused to not get stolen from.

What a piece of crap of a family. My brother back in the days helped kids learn Pokémon and while doing that someone stole his binder while helping others learn the game. After that day he never did anything with Pokémon ever again. He threw his gameboy games away and said he was done. Super sad when I see this crap.
I got the majority of my Yu Gi OH cards stolen when I was a young teen at a card shop/tournament I used to frequent. Let the person look at my deck not realizing he was turning around stealing my cards. Ended up realizing it late and he ran off. Never played again. Broke my teenage heart and showed me how cold the world is to the innocent.
Sorry to hear that man smh.
A couple months ago I agreed with a guy on Facebook Marketplace to trade my silver CJ Stroud card for like 12 boxes of sealed wax. We learned as Comic Book Vendors in the 80's/90's NEVER leave your high priced merch where people can touch them. Growing up the son of a retail store owner we were taught DON'T TOUCH UNLESS YOU INTEND TO BUY. My philosophy as a seller was DON'T LET THEM TOUCH UNLESS YOU'RE WATCHING AND THEY ASK TO LOOK AT IT. Otherwise, this happens.

You should press charges and include the dad if he was in on it. Thieves need to be brought to justice and taught a lesson. Evil goes unpunished too often and bad parents need to be held accountable for their kids unacceptable behavior. With all of the social media out there, this kid and his dad need to be exposed not just to punish their behavior but also to hopefully deter others from acting similarly. This kid has no morals and even had the nerve to ask for a better price on the cards he actually bought. Disgraceful!
yeah will definitely try to do that but not sure if police going to do investigation about that much money, im sure the show runners though will have the kid in the list for future ones
@GengarousCollectibles press charges no matter what if you don't your allowing this behavior. @@GengarousCollectiblespolice will absolutely get involved, theft over 500$ is grand theft. It’s also grand larceny. Both are felony offenses. Press charges. As a black man , this kid needs to be held accountable before he goes to far down the wrong path. As a juvenile this could be the wake up call he needs to get right. He can’t think that theft is okay and he can get away with it. It’s cards now , later it will be jewelry and robbery.
I feel for you. That sort of behaviour is disgusting and uncalled for. It's supposed to be an enjoyable event where customer and vendor trade, purchase and sell cards to one another with the customer being able to look at the cards in person so they can see what they are purchasing. I remember pulling a Shining Charizard 1st Edition and then finding out it was stolen from my card binder by a kid the same day. It actually caused me to stop collecting the cards as a kid. I only collected from 1999 - 2003 because older kids would steal my best cards. Once I turned 10, I seriously gave up because of it.

People who steal trading cards are the ones who selfishly ruin the game for everyone else, showing they have no respect or decency.
i agree with your comment, no place for this in such a great hobby
I'm a mom and I taught my children, now 21, 18, & 17, to shop the way I was taught. We put our hands behind our back unless we intend to buy something. If we touch it, we are planning to actually buy it. Otherwise, hands behind our back. It's helpful with compulsive shopping too. Having your hands behind your back makes your brain register the movement of your arms to pick up an item, which gives your brain time to reflect on the cost/whether the expense is worth the purchase.
thats actually amazing, i hope i can teach my baby girl the same one day, thanks for sharing it!

Why are so many saying the kid should have consequences, and upset that he dad is OK with it?
It's not that he's OK with the actions.... He's the one having his clean looking black son so the stealing! He's the one in control of what's going on, and his son is his lackey.
I don't think the dad really caught up maybe a bit at the end he seemed to be pondering why he son kept grabbing them from him. The dad also put the stolen stuff on top and the kids moved them around to hide them and I think that is when the dad started wondering but don't think he caught him in the act and was more of a fleeting thought. Probably also believes his kid would never do something like that.

Always keep your eyes on people with dad caps who wear them specially indoor. He obviously wanted to keep a low profile and clearly not his first rodeo at stealing. Glad you were recording and now he’s a know thief!
thanks for the advice brother, yeah definitely learned from this.
He got some courage telling you to be careful with his cards while stealing yours 😂
Here from Rattles video - Sending you so much love and support and hope to see you at future shows :) Also LOVE these videos in general so will watch and sub to your content - keep being awesome.
appreciate it a lot! support like yours makes me more eager to keep doing this!
“Oh… you record your sales?” “OHH” 😅😂
Still didnt think to come clean lol
@@GengarousCollectibles honestly, I’m honored there are vendors and folks like you who are genuinely nice. I’m sorry this kid took advantage of that. Never change who you are man. Dropping a like and sub 🙏🏻
@@xnxreaper1031 oh for sure man, do good and good will find you every time, same as it did to me with all the support the community as shown. Thank you for doing the same, hope we meet one day 👏
He should be banned any location for not stealing.
LIKE FATHER LIKE SON🙉🙊🙈🐒🐵
Pretty much
Yep. Animals!
Always good to bring a spotter , going to my first show and my gf is coming with me (her only job is to lookout for theifs)!
@@PokeSleepDeals yeah I had one friend with me that day but he left right before this...also my wife can't come with me cuz she holds our baby...definitely need a second set of eyes with me though
@@GengarousCollectibles : KARMA will bite them hard just wait GOD sees everything stay safe & blessed.. ohhh & more ALERT 🚨
@@PokeSleepDeals I'm with you on that one brother, and most definitely!
“Return The Slab Or Stuffer My Curse “- King Ramses 😂
You know, if someone just randomly hands off some stack of cards to me without saying anything, I’m going to assume they’re giving it away for free.
Hahah that would be funny, just say thanks and move along 😄
It’s obvious that the dad was in on it too. Shameful.
Came here from Opossum Bud, sorry to hear about this. I hope this doesn't discourage you from doing what you do. Hopefully this young person learns their lesson sooner than later. Love from Arizona.
With support like yours and others, I have nothing beside will to get better and keep going! Thank you and appreciate it a lot 🙏
If I was his dad I would sell that kid’s whole collection and donate it to kids in need.
Yeah definitely not the reaction his dad had
And was selling you someone else’s merchandise, probably😂 I really hate this, but thank you for sharing the video. I dealt with a coin dealer, who used binders, and he would religiously fill empty slots with new coins. Makes theft more difficult.
You are such a kind vendor. Sucks to have this kind of people ruining the fun business. Btw you are giving me 'Frenchie' vibes from THE BOYS hahaha
Thank you! Yeah it definitely ruins the vibe for the show but it is what it is sometimes. Just gotta keep going. Haha that's first time i hear that, i just check and i think I might look a bit like him but definitely not as badass as him 😅
Sorry to see, man! I bought a BGS 8 gold star flareon from you at KC con and it was a very chill interaction. I took my little nephew and he was pumped to hopefully be on youtube lol. Hope to see some KC con footage soon!
im glad we met and glad to see you in here! KC CAC videos are coming up next week, appreciate the support a lot!
Disgusting behaviour! Police should be involved! Theft of others property is not on! Sorry for your loss :(
Thanks for the support and they have been since the beginning
the kid's face after he realized his face was recorded was epic
Definitely needs to be in caught in 4k compilation
The second you said “-camera real quiiiick” he looked dead at it in fear, I could feel the regret
yeah should have just told the truth right there or said took them by mistake...on top of it had another chance to tell the truth when i confronted him but he still wanted to go away with some
I remember I was at a sportscards show in Ames. I finished a deal with a vendor and went 10 tables away. The dealer forgot he took my money. Chased me down. Said i never paid for my cards. I told him "I gave you $140. A Franklin and two $20s. Check." He told me to wait. He went back. Confirmed and never apologized. I told him "Next time, count your money."
sucks to hear that, definitely not cool from his part, there is no shame to say sorry if you are wrong
Without an apology, I would have just gave the cards back, demanded my money, and made sure he knew he lost a deal because of his ignorance and unprofessionalism
Typical people stealing they always stealing
Man I can’t beleive I went from watching cooper give kids free cards to seeing you get robbed this is just horrible to see😢 well I guess on the bright side this video gave your channel a LOT of attention and hopefully well over $500 in business! And awareness to people to watch more carefully so things don’t get stolen in the future! God bless bro
Yeah I try to give back to kids too but didnt think one would steal from me. It's just a bad apple in the middle of a good community. I definitely got more than money could buy from the support of the community. God bless you too and thanks for being here 👏
Man this kid needs to get better at stealing I took like 30 cards from your binder and you didn’t even notice
Lmao, I knew you were into something...I will just report V to the police though 😜
😂 💀
