very good setup. i too have rain water harvesting tanks in my house. 2x10k litres tank. one for our use and the other for my neighbours . i use a sand+ charcoal+gravel filter.

If your target is 30 kilo litres of water i.e. 30 thousand litres of water then I suggest 1) you get a tank that can hold 30 kilo litres of water & 2) a big funnel-like structure made with thin plastic (cloth-like which you can fold back & close when not needed) material above that tank & it's broader end spreading over an area of 1000 sq.feet or more & this will directly send the rain water into the tank & then would not require those several broad surfaces.
Same feelings it's very late that we're still not realising the importance of the water and other natural resources which are depicting. Government cannot do anything is absolutely right as we have useless ones. Great information thanks.

I think farmers can do one thing that is they can collect rainwater and make it flow into the Ground through the Bore wells , it will increase ground water table and we can use it when we want after wards 👍
A must watch video..Many people are still unconscious about the value and scarcity of water...great work sir...i have implemented such a system but a difference is that the collected water in a tank is filtered using natural methods and directly poured into my open well through pipes..it will increase the ground water level..

This is the kind of project most of the government around the world should develop especially now a days that water is getting more precious. We cannot afford to just waste water. Rain water can be used as a fire figthing agent for our fire trucks, as a means of watering plants and trees and for farming especially during draught time, as a means of cleaning etcetera. i think u can save more water by channeling all your land water to one small pond and not let water to go out of your land. so your ground water level also increase

Prajna Devi, why are you paying taxes in every thing u buy, sell or earn, invest, so that govt provides u with basic necessities. Stop being a bhakt and open ur eyes, yes RWH is a good step, but everyone doesn't have own hous and big land in village.
Please keep rooftop clean during rainy reason to avoid health issues and also create filter chamber filled with coal,sand,jelly stones in different sizes and nylon mesh. Pass water from this chamber to drinking water sump. Close drinking water sump completely to protect from sun rays. If sun rays don’t fall on water then fungi development will not happen. Please keep a pipe way to enter air into that drinking water chamber.
I am thinking about it, living in gurgaon brings its own challenges. The air quality is bad and the rain water is not clean (acidic)... So will require more filtering than your case... i really like what you have done and very well intro... Made me think why we are not doing this enough. In next renovation i will get this built along with solar setup and possibly replace water toilets with compost ones.

The screw's will be placed with bitumen washers while installing,
As sun shines bitumen melts and seal's the screw hole.
