Let's imagine that criminals managed to get to you. Remind yourself that most victims of kidnappers survive their ordeal. Staying positive will help you not to lose heart. And this is the first and main step toward freedom. Remain calm, and don't threaten your captors. Be cooperative, and don't show any signs of aggression. SUMMARY:
- Take your safety seriously. Don’t walk on your own along deserted streets or after dark. Muggers aren't the only criminals you can come across in these circumstances. If you absolutely must go somewhere, make sure you travel with a companion.
- Try to keep your panic at bay and analyze the situation. You need to understand if there's a real possibility of escaping in the first few minutes after an abduction. The first moments after a kidnapping are the riskiest. If you feel that there's no easy way to escape, all your attempts won’t be worth the risk.
- Pay attention to the kidnappers, to your surroundings, and to the route the car is taking. This knowledge may well help you to escape. It might also help your rescuers when the time comes.
- First and foremost, try to figure out why you've been kidnapped. This can influence the way you will communicate with your captors. If they want to get a ransom for you, they will most likely want you alive. Thus, trying to escape might not be worth the risk.
- If you manage to establish a personal connection with the captor, it will be more difficult for them to harm you. Thus, do not get on the nerves of the kidnapper. Do not try to manipulate them. Do not beg, blow a fuse, or burst into tears.
- Try to challenge your mind as this will help you not to go round the bend. You can develop different escape plans, have imaginary conversations with your friends, remember the names of all the states, crack math problems, or sing songs.
- Your captors start to treat you more brutally. They stop feeding you. They quit wearing their masks around you. They look frightened or agitated. They release other captives but not you. These are signs that indicate you're in danger.
- When you realize that the cavalry is near, hide from your kidnappers if you can. Cover your head, get under a bed or table, or hunch up in a bathtub. Stay still, and avoid moving until your rescuers get inside.
- Tell your kids not to accept any gifts from strangers, even if it's something innocent and cute (like a kitty
- Neither should they go with adults or other kids who ask them for help. Explain to your little ones that an adult should never ask for a kid's assistance.

I was actually kidnapped whenever I was 19. I was handcuffed to a headboard of a bed. How did I get away? For some reason there was a flat head screwdriver in the dresser drawer and I used it to pry the back of the headboard away from the side of the head board where the Handcuff was and I jumped out the window when they were not there. How did I get kidnapped? By not listening 2 that little voice in my head. I was sitting in the car with a guy I had met a couple of times talking. I had my right foot out on the ground and the door was opened. He told me to close the door and when he said that I had a really bad feeling come over me. But because I didn't want him to think I was weird I put my foot in and close the door and as soon as I did he handcuffed my left wrist to the gear shift and took off with me. My lesson? Always listen to your instincts.
I was kidnapped once when I was about 7 and I didn't even realize it.
He was my neighbor for years and his wife always gave us Candy, however his wife died. I didn't think anything of it when he offered me candy and invited me into the house. He gave the other kids I was with candy and said he needed to get more and sent the other two kids away, also invited me to follow him. He picked me up and set me on his counter and asked if he could touch me (Which at the time I had no idea what he meant.) And if there was anything I wanted. When I said I couldn't think of anything I wanted he said he would be right back and left the kitchen. After he left I just jumped down, unlocked the door and simply walked out. I causally told my mom later and she freaked out.
I believe he was questioned the next day but I don't know when they actually arrested him.
Looking back as a small kid I kinda never did what anyone said and just followed my instincts which is probably why I decided to leave. Who knows what would've happened if I had stayed.

One way I can think of to prevent child abduction is to not let your child wear something with his or her name on it. A kidnapper unknown to the child may then call them by name, giving the child the impression that the kidnapper knows them.
It is also important to know that kidnappings by strangers are quite rare. You are more likely to be kidnapped by someone you know.

When I was 9 I was waiting for my dad to pick me up from my tution in the evening, two random guys just stopped their vehicle by my side and said that they were my dad's friends and he sent them to pick me up🙂 but they didn't knew that I know all the friends of my dad so I just asked them to call my dad and said that I don't know you and I need a proof rn, if you tried to touch me I will scream and you will be arrested soon, 'they left the place' without saying anything and I ran to my tutor, I thought that they weren't kidnapped because they would have just kidnapped me instead of leaving but when I asked my dad if they were his friends he said 'NO' and I still wonder what type of kidnappers were they. 😗💅

The last time I almost got “kidnapped”, I tried to make friends with the “kidnapper”. I started saying “All my life all I ever wanted were friends. A few years ago I was playing in the front yard doing some gymnastics… then I see a car coming by with a man inside staring at me and driving very slowly. I pause as he stares at me and make eye contact with him. I then saw him look around to see if anyone was around me.I could see that he had saw my mom and he drove away. I told my mom and she never lets me play in the front yard alone now.

That's happened a few times to me. I really don't like it. I guess, maybe, that's one of the reasons why some of the people in my inner family/friend circle say that I'm afraid of people (in general, for the most part)...

I sometimes carry a slightly dangerous laser with me. I’ve shown it at my own eyes once by accident and it stings really bad and causes blindness for about 5-10, enough time to get away.
