SUMMARY:
- Never use bleach and cleaning products that contain ammonia at the same time and in the same room. Their vapors will mix in the air and create a toxic gas called chloramine.
- The smell of urine or fish at home means that the electrical wiring might be melting, which can lead to a fire or even an explosion!
- Try not to leave a pan or a deep-fryer unsupervised. But if you did, and your cooking oil caught fire, do NOT attempt to extinguish this fire with water - it’ll only make the flames shoot higher!
- A simple spare tire can save your life. While burning, it will produce thick black smoke visible from miles away, and chances are, somebody will notice your SOS signal.
- Three to four seconds before lightning strikes, you'll feel a metallic taste in your mouth, and your hair will stand on end. Immediately sit down, bring your heels together, and place your hands on your knees.
- If you suspect that some object might be electrified, but you have to check it, touch it with the back of your hand.
- Never touch the area around the wound; otherwise, the venom will spread way faster.
- If you're calling an emergency service, first of all, give them your address. Only after that should you explain the reason for your call.
- If you get disoriented after diving and can't figure out which way you should swim to get back to the surface, exhale.
- Any scratch or bite received from a wild animal can lead to rabies. Within 10-15 minutes after the accident, you should thoroughly wash the wound and rush to a hospital.
- If you're crossing the road and see a bright sun reflection on the windshield of the oncoming car, chances are the driver won't see you.
- Always plug your nose when you jump into a lake or a pond from high up, feet first. The water could be swarming with dangerous one-celled animals, and the most horrifying among them is something known as the "brain-eating amoeba."
- If you find yourself face to face with a tornado, and it seems to be hovering over the same area, it's most likely moving toward you. Choose an upright standing object and focus on it.
- If your car skids, you can regain control of it by steering in the direction of the skid rather than against it.

Im not sure if you mean switching detergents every couple of washes, or using several detergent items in one wash load ( like a pre-treater) , but I often switch detergents once in a while because of price. I love Tide Sport but I can't afford it all the time, knowhatimean? And alas, Wisk is no more. 😭

Fact 15: Very few people know that the headrest of a car is designed to be able to break the glass of a car in an emergency situation.
Just pull it out of the seat and turn it over. The metal rods are pointed at the end like most emergency glass breaking tools. Slam the pointed end hard into the corner of the glass and it should break.

Skiing at Lake Louise I went a bit off trail to get some deeper powder and caught a ski on a hidden root or branch that flipped me into quite deep powder. I went so deep that I was totally lost on which way was up. All was the color of the inside of a cloud but the same in all directions. I was claustrophobic, panicking and realized I was in trouble. Told myself that my only way out was to THINK! From somewhere I remembered that spit runs downhill. I got myself a big selection of fear in my mouth and let it out slowly. It was difficult to keep my cool but I still had my right ski pole gripped so I started moving it in the opposite direction hoping I was going the proper direction and also hoping it was long enough to break the surface. Saved my life I feel as I was rescued by someone who saw the top of my ski pole. Just remembering the rules of gravity saved the day.

A friend of my teacher came to our school last year to do a presentation about flight, fight or freeze and she told us that one winter she was driving somewhere at night and she lost control of her car. It went off the road into a river which was mostly frozen over by thick ice. She had to break through the window with the palms of her hands and she figured out that the only way out of the water is around the ice. She found a strong current in the river and swam upwards to the surface because moving water won't freeze. I know this is a pretty long comment, but that's another good survival skill.

The same way you showed it that's what happened to me, I went to get something left out of the kitchen and forgot i was cooking i used flour to put out a small grease fire it will work immediately, if it wasn't for the fact that i had a old fire extinguisher it stopped working months ago and i took it apart ( to see if i could fix it ) the powder inside looked like flour and when i had the fire the thought came to me and that's why i used flour and i was impressed how fast the fire went out. highway tip:
If the car in front of you suddenly comes to a stop during high traffic and when the road is high speed, make sure to leave enough distance between you in the car in front of you to not crash into them and start honking. People get distracted on highways because of the long drive or technology, the honking will help get the person’s behind you attention and making them look up about the commotion, getting them to more likely take notice of your break light. Also would recommend slowly breaking so they have more time to take notice.

Life hack;
When on a train, bus or any other public mode of transport, loop your foot through the strap of your bag. Then after you do that you can have a nap or watch a movie with no worries because you will feel your bag tugging at your foot when someone is trying to take it and then you will be able to quickly kick them.

Quick sand is just a very unique perfect concentration of sand and water. Similarly and even more so than water, you float in quick sand, regardless of the dept of the pit. But getting out on your own is a SLOW process

Regarding #6: how do you set the spare tire on fire?
With your water bottle. 😂
Step 1: Get your car battery, some flammable material pieces (dry cloth/plant) and a piece of wire long enough to loop around the tire. ( A cable from your engine bay should suffice)
Step 2: Put the cloth/plant pieces on the inside of the tire. Make sure to evenly space it out.
Step 3: Loop the wire in the inner wall of the tire with enough on each end to reach the center of the tire. ( make sure it has exposed fibers that touch the cloth/plant pieces.
Step 4: Put the battery in the center of the tire and and carefully connect the wire to the positive and negative without electrocuting yourself.
The electrified wire should spark the cloth/plant to catch fire which in turn should burn the tire and cause it to catch fire as well.
Some newer cars don’t have spare tires
@@ccxgamerlynx All cars are suppose to have spares. Cars without spares or "space savers" are usually sports cars.
I personally would never drive a car that doesn't have a good spare tire and the basic tools needed for a quick repair.
(My Dad and brothers made sure to teach me the basics of cars so that I know what to do in an emergency situation)

Here's one that saved my life. If you find yourself being crushed in a crowd hold your own hand in front of your chest to create a cage around your chest so you have space to breathe. Otherwise people might crowd so close to you that you can't inhale and you will suffocate.

M gonna use a survival trick to get out of school
Just to add to the trains one, if your car is stalled in a level crossing, call your local emergency number and look at the back of the sign or crossing gates. There may be a crossing number the train controllers can use to reroute or stop oncoming trains much faster than if they have to figure out where you are (especially if you're not too sure yourself).
Don't try to break windshield if need to leave car. It is two pieces of glass with a flexible glue between them. Much harder to break, and you still will not be able to get out. Use side window instead.
Also, studies have shown density of quicksand too high to sink into below head, only heavy object need to be removed (like a backpack...not belt or wig).
