    Why 2% lidocaine = 34mg?
    "2%" indicates that there are 2 grams of lidocaine in every 100 milliliters (ml) of solution.2g(2000mg) * 1.7ml = 100ml * X
    x = (2 * 1.7) / 100
    x ≈ 0.034 grams
    To convert grams to milligrams (since 1 gram = 1000 milligrams):
    0.034 grams * 1000 = 34 milligrams
    Question
    Maximum total dose of lidocaine (mg)?
    Maximum total dose of articaine (mg)?
    Maximum dose of lidocaine (mg/kg)?
    Maximum dose of articaine (mg/kg)?
    Patient is 66lb. what is their max dose of la for 2% lidocaine 1:100k epi?
    Answer:
    66 𝑙𝑏 ∗ 2𝑚𝑔 𝑙𝑏 = 132.0 𝑚𝑔 𝑀𝑎𝑥 𝑑𝑜𝑠𝑒
    132.0 𝑚𝑔 x 1 carpule/34mg= 3.88 carpules
    OR
    66lb / 17lb/carpule = 3.88 carpules
    3.5 carpules
    OR
    66lb = 29.9kg
    29.9kg * 4.4mg/kg = 131.7mg (max dose)
    131.7mg * 1 carpule/34mg = 3.8 carpules (max carpules)
    Patient is 66lb. what is their max dose of la for Articaine (4%) with 1:100K epi?
    Answer:
    66 𝑙𝑏 ∗ 3.2𝑚𝑔/𝑙𝑏 = 211.2𝑚𝑔 𝑀𝑎𝑥 𝑑𝑜𝑠𝑒
    211.2 𝑚𝑔 x 1 carpule/68mg= 3.1 carpules
    66lb = 29.9kg
    29.9kg * 7mg/kg = 209.5mg (max dose)
    209.5mg * 1 carpule/68mg = 3 carpules (max carpules)
