Good Lord, people complain about your yard? You just moved into a new house & had a baby. Your doing amazing. Whatever & whenever you decide to do it will be perfect.
I started watching you two years ago. 🌱You inspired me to start my plant journey.🌱 My girls also enjoying planting with me. It’s hard to find common ground with teenage girls. Thank you for bringing my girls and I closer. 🥰
Your one of my favorite plant people. Can't believe people would leave you mean comments. I'm a new plant mommy and your videos have been very helpful. Thanks!
1. Your nails are gorgeous! Matte black is so cool 2. Can’t believe people have to comment about your yard, you moved so recently and have a baby.. it takes time to get everything together around the house. 3. Looking forward to the video where you decorate the cabinet, those are so beautiful 😍
And it’s getting into the colder months!! Why spend all the money and time and labor into the yard just for it to freeze and possibly not survive the transplant + upcoming freezes
You all probably dont give a damn but does anybody know a way to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my login password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
Also! For your yard, this internet stranger suggests a grass/clover combo when you get there. We're doing that to rehab our yard, and it's really helping! Plus it's great for bees and other pollinators, and soft and nice for little feets.
Sowing clover worked nice for us in areas that are not trampled by dogs and people. ☺ Stuff like meadow flower seed mixes might be nice too but some flowers in those mixes can become too dominant, I guess read the packaging or collect some seeds in your area. This year we also tried to only cut the grass ( more like an unruly mix of cover, different grass species some self-seeded flowers, moss and weeds) for paths and keep the rest long. Not only did we get much more insects in our garden, the longer grass also didn't burn as much as the short one. My theory is that the longer grass allows more shadowed areas, were moss and smaller weeds can grow and help keeping the water from evaporating too fast. Though be fair, living in Central Europe makes it easy to talk. Compare to the terrible droughts in other parts of the world the new dryness of our summers is literally a first world problem. "Just sow some clover" might sound similarly mocking to the people dealing with expanding deserts and forest fires as Marie Antoinette saying people should eat cake if there's no bread.
here’s a nice comment about your yard! i love how it looks in its natural state wild and free looks pretty. You don’t need grass, just plant some wildflowers in the spring for the bees and butterflies and it’ll be even prettier
Hey lovely as always love love love your videos, when I get my own home I plan on making my yard a native plant landscape to my area, just thought I would let you know as when you use plants that are native to your area your yard will take care of itself which is super cool and so little maintenance and is good for water conservation to there are lots of awesome articles on the internet about it. Have fun with it. 🌳❤️
I second researching plants that do well in your area. if I'd let my garden do whatever it wanted, the wisteria and ivy would probably swallow our house. The city had to cut free the public stairs next to our house free and the wisteria branches were as thick as my upper arms. So if I wanted my garden just to look full and lush..wisteria, (wild) wine, blackberry and ivy would probably be the go to plants ...maybe a strong rambling rose too(we've got one no-id one that quite dominant and a new dawn that does lovely on our southern wall) ....the only thing you gotta do maintenance wise would be with a machete or chainsaw to make sure you can still enter your house. 😅 The family council voted for food though and getting some sunlight in the garden.
😍 that variegated Monstera tho!! Plants relax me, so beautiful. I ❤️ that my 16 yr old son is growing his own 🍒 tree from seeds. His nurturing and excitement watching it grow makes me proud 😁.
you called me a friend. I am forever grateful for plants bringing me to you! you are so sweet harli. and I love your room plant set up! cant wait to see the glass shelf all set up! I have been looking at buying one!
Hey I know you didn’t want yard comments but I have a few suggestions that are sustainable! Clover you don’t have to mow and it helps bees, moss is also good for the ecosystem and it’s drought resistant with no mowing, and you could do a prairie yard with native grasses and flowers that are super good for local bugs and they look gorgeous!!!
I love how real you hare Harli G, the bleeding thing made me laugh, that happens to me too. I love that you didn't cut it lol - shows how genuine you are. which I appreciate it.
Hi Harli!! Just wanted to let you know that you were the main inspiration to me starting my own channel! I have been collecting plants for a while, but watching you talk about your plants has been so therapeutic to me, so I'vs started making my own! You're amazing!!!
i love how big your yard is. mine is covered in weeds so i get it. i hate grass too but can’t decide what alternative would work best for us. i’ve been looking into permaculture which would greatly reduce the need for stupid grass! no extra judgement allowed here! love your channel!
Kinda random but I love how you're thinking of something other than grass! It's way better for the environment to use bushes and flowers and honestly it looks soooo much nicer 😂
I love how pretty your orchids are! I definitely agree with those who told you to repot them though. They need ventilation holes on the sides of their pot to breathe.
I love your videos! I have had house plants for 3 years but started out so small. With a Chinese money tree and an umbrella plant and some random foliage plant idk the name of. Now I have 3 kinds of pothos, tradescantia zabrinas, tradescantia nanouk, umbrella plant, Maui queen, polka dot plant and a few others. Your videos are so inspirational and have helped me a lot along the way. They also make me want to run to the store and buy more plants.🤣 thank you for sharing. I truly enjoy.
i love your vids. ive been afraid to have any kind of plants since i have history of killing cactus. by watching ur vids i learn a lot and i now i buy new plants every months. love your haul vids too.
I want to get some decorative pots, but everytime I go pots are like 15 dollars for good ones and I think, can I get another plant for that money. And end up not.
Thriftshops are ur best friend!! Also dollar shops, i just things that arent even pots, drill holes for drainage and ur all set! I ended up with so many unique cool looking pots
Couple questions! But first, thanks for always welcoming us into your home and your life and just being so dang informative 🤗 Okay, how much day light does your room actually get? Do you have a humidifier in your room? What's the temp in your house? How are you planning to keep kai away from all your planties once he start crawling/walking ? 🤗
I'm glad you said the scindapsus pictus argyraeus can be tricky because mine is... unwell. 😅 I'm thinking overwatering, root rot or too close to a cold window (but my only window). Going to repot it in to a terracotta pot, take out the moss pole and let it hang incase it's strangling itself and go from there. 🥴🤷🏻♀️ I love watching your videos. Thank you for sharing them. :)
On moving plants, yes! I rearrange mine every time I've let them go long enough to need a big watering day, hah. Since everything gets taken to the sink, it's the perfect chance to switch things up.
I built my first house and in moved in April 2020. I still don’t have a driveway or grass or side fences. We have earthmoving and retaining walls done but it’s been a nightmare due to contractor issues. Anyway. Landscaping takes time and costs a fortune! Everyone needs to chill out about Harli’s yard.
Thanks for the vid Harli! Feeling spoiled with 2 vids in a row. Yesterday i got my first hoyas. Hoya carnosa jade and hoya pubicalx. Hope things get better. I wanted to start commenting to outnumber the neg critical comment so i hope this brings u a small joy.
FYI, the small silver and variety I have also in several pots, I found out on accident that to keep them growing leaves closer together, they want to climb. I have one on my mantel. A while back I noticed two branches had grown to the floor, found the wall and began to shingle up it. The leaves are side by side and flat to the all. I hate to remove them but I plan on repotting, taking a bunch of cuttings as I have a ton of long vines, and having them climb something so they can shingle. The look so amazing that way.
I love the scindapsus pictus exotica. With pots it's hard for me. I like to use this self watering pots. But they are quite expensive. Made a DIY pot with diameter 15cm glas jars. Also I think about planting more plants in one pot. Also, I somehow want to try to keep them elevated a little so it's easier to clean the floor... Basically - all is work in progress. - with your garden: well one can't do all at once. But for me it looks beautiful as I just see potential, potential and a lot of room to be creative with. I spend 3 months in the UK working. The garden of the house I rented a room for that time looked quite similar. to yours. I showed the lady living in the house some sketched of ideas and she allowed me to start gardening and gave me some budget. It was great fun.
Beautiful room!! I wish I could keep some plants in our bedroom. As for the yard, it looks like a blank canvas to me and you could plant so many awesome trees, shrubs with all the bloom / foliage colours!! Have a wonderful day!! 😊
Oh my goodness Harli I’ve been waiting for this video God bless you and have a great day😃 (ps thank you you have helped me and my mom know how to take care of plants the right way thanks to your videos )
I found two hanging baskets of exotica at my grocery store for $9.98 a piece, Canadian! That’s like $7.50 US...such a deal. I’ve seen people selling three-leaf cuttings for $50
Where's the propagation tube stand!? I love your videos Harli!!!! You're the reason I went past an aloe plant and into my growing collection. Thank you for your educational videos and your fun personality... and the cute babeh Kai
Haha, I move my plants all the time. Every time I’m like *please don’t hate me!* Oooo your yard would be perfect for a green house! Then who needs to worry about the yard!
I also turned the ikea milsbo into a plant cabinet for aroids! I'm looking forward to see what you do with it since its not the easiest cabinet to drill holes in/retrofit because of all the glass! I thought i'd need fans and a humidifier, but so far it seems pretty balanced in there with just a door open now and then and a heat mat.
Love the new set up in your bedroom Harli. Your plants get me drooling 😅 I move my plants on the daily haha. I only have 33 in my small space so its fun rearranging and so far they don't seem to mind. Everytime I see Kai Kai I wanna kiss that sweet face 💋 Your hubs is such a good sport, its always fun seeing the whole fam. Have a great day!

Can't wait to see your Ikea greenhouse vid. I just bought the squattier version of the Milsbo and I'm slowly getting it together.
Ooo cant wait for the milsbo vid!!

Did you notice the underside of her nails are red. Super cool
@@erinhallmakes777 yeah! Really cool detail
One of my biggest plant 🌱 regrets is not buying the scindapsus pictus exotica at Home Depot when I saw it 😢
Hearing Kai in the background and plants bring me so much happiness 😊
How i got addicted to plants:
1. I watched one of youre vids
2. I watched another video

Yes me and my mom are literally going bonkers with the plans
Lol me too!!
Same.
Most accurate description ever.
@@something.about.plants2495 you could say that again
The bedroom does look much more open without the canopy. Kai looks like he wanted to give his opinion on the mattress too! He's such a cutie! 😊💚

Oooooh! I have that issue with a ton of my nursery pots and cover pots! Cutting it and leaving that tab is a great idea! Thanks Harli!
