I have been in London for many many years. I am very happy that now British people are into house plant, when I arrived here hardly anybody had one at home. I love house plants.
My favorite basic houseplant type is sansevieria! I have so many and I stick them anywhere I have an open space. I love that they are the perfect vertical plant whereas most others spread horizontally and stay bushy. I love putting my big ones in empty corners to bring the eye up and my little ones in between different shaped plants on a shelf to break up the horizontal line! Plus it’s sooo easy to care for. I basically ignore them and they do amazing 💚
My favorite plants that I guess I think are "common" would definitely be my little Pothos family I have accumulated, jade Pothos, golden, neon, pearls and jade, snow queen, N'joy and satin. You rock Harli!
Definitely my scindapsus family that I have (some not so common, but mostly purchased online except for one - Argeryus)...Exotica, Silvery Ann, Argeryus, Jade (waiting on the Treubii moonlight, silver splash, and maybe dark form). Also, love my Cebu pothos (but also not so common... bought from Steve's Leaves😁). Thank you so much for the information Harli; was wondering about the growth rate on the Exotica, because my rooted cuttings have not grown any new growth points or leaves. But, only received that plant in April, so I have a little while to wait. I was actually trying to purchase one from the Plant Hall but I was too slow to checkout (lol). Love all your plants and your mom's too 💚

Blooming anthurium are so cheery in the dark winter, I have them arranged near a window and they are beautiful to see the cluster of pink, purple, orange, red, white, chocolate. They are inexpensive and easy to find (chocolate one being the exception)

I feel there’s a common misconception that in order to have houseplants you have to put all of them up against a south or west facing window.
