  • Angmering Village in West Sussex, England, UK is a historic village that in recent years has rapidly increased in size and population due to new housing built all around it. Despite this, the centre of the village is mostly unchanged and the area around the shops and village green still feels like a village, and according to locals I spoke to, the feeling of being part of the village community is very much still there.

Sorry I've been away for so long! I have been putting a lot of energy into my other pursuits that have to take priority unfortunately. The longer I left it, the harder it felt it would be to get back into things. I did plan to add more to this particular video but it'll have to do as it is. I've done my best with the footage I already shot in July.

I have many similar videos from the area that are available for licensing using this refer link to my exclusive Pond5 account:

A note regarding the use of a drone and filming over residential areas, as some of you may understandably be uncomfortable with this. The drone used for all footage was a DJI Mini 3 Pro. In all cases I flew within the laws specified by the CAA airspace regulatory authority and in accordance with the Model Aircraft Article 16 authorisation. I have a current membership to FPV-UK plus a Drone Operator ID and Flyer ID. All flights adhered to safety guidelines and VLOS, and within all rules applicable to a sub-250g unmanned aircraft. This includes being legally able to fly over buildings and other structures and unintentional flight over individual people who are not part of a large gathering. No FTZ (Flight Restriction Zone) was in operation at the time in the areas of flight. I also use common sense and high moral standards regardless of what the law allows. This means I shall not intentionally fly low over buildings, particularly houses or their property such as gardens. I keep as high as I can and also do not point the camera downwards when over private fenced property such as a private garden.

thanks Geoff really interesting to have numbers with all the shocking new builds. Its awful to see such desicration of what was a lovely village including a 74 bed care home. we really don't need all this in this location...the A259 as you say, recently widened will soon become clogged and need a bypass itself! as it is you now can't access it from any of the feeder roads as its too busy.

I do feel for people living in Angmering who have been there a while. I regularly go through Angmering so know it quite well, and the number of new housing estates is staggering. For now there are empty fields stretching towards Poling, but how long before they're taken over too? It's such a shame. Thanks for your comment.

Very interesting video Geoff. Such a shame that all that lovely countryside will be taken up by housing. The drone footage was really interesting, amazing what views you can get from high up. Looking forward to the next one 🙂

@lottybaker5014. The house you’re living in was once countryside. The whole country was. It was ok 50 years ago but not now?

Thanks for noticing my comment when I talked about Worthing, the high down hills are definitely a good spot to look at, even if they technically are barely in the outskirts of Worthing, it is my home town after all! Love your videos.

Thanks so much for the kind comment, I'm glad you enjoy my videos. I want to do one just about Worthing, and I may do, it's just such a lot of work to do a decent job of it, but I shall try to in future. :)
