  • I plan several Rustington videos but will start with this overview, where I tried to keep it shorter than my previous efforts. :) Rustington is next to Littlehampton, not part of it as the Post Office would have you think. It is a British seaside town in West Sussex, on the south coast of England, UK.

Please note that all video footage is ©Geoff Smith, 'Explore with Geoff' and must not be used by anyone without my written permission.
I have many similar videos from the area that are available for licensing using this refer link to my exclusive Pond5 account:

Please note that if you use that link to purchase a license to use any of my footage, I shall receive a percentage of the sale as well as the commission I would normally receive. This will not change the price you pay.
Music used with thanks to TH-cam's free audio library.
A note regarding the use of a drone and filming over residential areas, as some of you may understandably be uncomfortable with this. The drone used for all footage was a DJI Mini 3 Pro. In all cases I flew within the laws specified by the CAA airspace regulatory authority and in accordance with the Model Aircraft Article 16 authorisation. I have a current membership to FPV-UK plus a Drone Operator ID and Flyer ID. All flights adhered to safety guidelines and VLOS, and within all rules applicable to a sub-250g unmanned aircraft. This includes being legally able to fly over buildings and other structures and unintentional flight over individual people who are not part of a large gathering. No FTZ (Flight Restriction Zone) was in operation at the time in the areas of flight. I also use common sense and high moral standards regardless of what the law allows. This means I shall not intentionally fly low over buildings, particularly houses or their property such as gardens. I keep as high as I can and also do not point the camera downwards when over private fenced property such as a private garden.

Hi everyone! Thanks so much to my new subscribers, it means a lot to me. I've tried to make this latest video shorter, but it's still over 5 minutes! Whoops. So if you think I'm talking fast and it's all very rushed, it's because it is. :) Please make a comment and click like to keep me motivated! Thanks everyone, Geoff.

I'd love to go exploring in those empty buildings. And aren't those old cottages lovely. It's nice to see that not all the history has been taken away from the village.
Nice video Geoff. Look forward to seeing part 2 😃

Such an interesting village, it seems to go way back in English history. Nice to see so many flint walls remaining. I like the drone videos too.

Similar to Sunbury on Thames near me which is near to Hampton Court and Kingston.
Some of my favourite walks are around this area.

I've been to Hampton Court, Kingston and all over that area. Long time ago now when cruising on the Thames. Lots of memories of those days.

Hi, really interesting - thank you. Where was the hotel you mentioned?

Hi Barbara, thanks for watching and for your comment. The hotel was roughly where the Littlehampton Wave is now. This video tells you all about it...

The one thing I don’t like with the cottages is how the road goes so close by them. To get past them you have to either cross the road or walk on it, must be a nightmare for those living in them

Yes I agree with you, the narrow roads are a problem at times, especially when the pavement stops. These old cottages are usually Grade II listed so even if they're in the way, they can't remove them....which I'm glad about. I guess they didn't expect lorries and buses to be going down those roads at 40mph when they built the cottages. :)

Do you have any photos or information on the Old Children’s Home ‘St Christopher’s’ apparently it was knocked down and built on but I cannot find any photos of the huge building and site.

Hi Samantha. I haven't heard of it before to be honest, but I've just looked up some info. Apparently it was knocked down and they built housing on the land. I can't find any old photos of it unfortunately. I hate it when they knock down historic buildings and leave no trace of them at all.
