The Riddler was too excited seeing Molly impersonating Robin to help him get rid of Batman, which eventually backfired and never she was never seen again.
He’s the Riddler. In his sick twisted mind if he removes the mask he would be cheating himself of the greatest riddle of his life. Who are Batman and Robin?
Did you ever notice that robin or even batman were captured and tied down a lot of times WHY then none of the crooks ever took their masks off to seek their identity!!!!!
The sad thing about this episode is that poor Burt was injured FOUR times in it. Granted, things happen. But to go through something like this in the FIRST episode had to be really frustrating.
Robin was lucky that The Riddler had a duplicate Robin costume for his moll Molly, otherwise she would've gotten the urge to take his off while he was unconscious whether she'd take his mask off or not.
Always wondered why the villains would manage to get Batman and Robin tied down but would never bother to unmask them? Sort of like the way the Proffessor on Gilligan's Island could make a nuclear reactor out of a coconut but couldn't patch a hole in the Minnow's hull! Loved both shows anyway :-)
If the Riddler ever cared about Molly at all, he would've cried when she didn't come back & that she failed to kill Batman. Odd that the Prince of Puzzlers never asked the Caped Crusaders what happened to her later on.
You wonder where Frank Miller got his inspiration for the Carrie Kelley Robin! Jill St. John made a HUGE impact on me on 13 January 1966, when I first saw this episode. And she still does, as I am getting a Batman fan series under way in 2012, based on the female Robin!
Eh, there was a character called Roberta the Girl Wonder back in the Earth-2 days. A big part of How To Butch Up Batman was making Robin a girl so it wouldn't be gay if people thought they were lovers. (Never mind that Robin is a minor, or Batman's son in all but name.) So we get Kathy and Betty Kane: So these were not very feminist, they have "female intuition" in the one job where intuition is worthless, and were just there because Batman and Robin needed girlfriends, and Catwoman wasn't Comics Code-compliant. (On Earth-2, she was Batman's wife already.) Donna Troy: So, Robin's gay rumors were even affecting Teen Titans. Thing is, many men from this era would see this all-male clique, and since "everyone knows" Robin is "funny", as my old neighbor would say, they would think of things they'd done with their friends at Robin's age. So Bob Haney looked for a girl sidekick. Thing is, there are none. But he saw Wonder Girl. Never mind she was Wonder Woman's past self who she could summon to present day to aid her. The name Donna Troy would show up in the 70s, and Marv Wolfman gave her a backstory in the early 80s. Note I said early 80s. As all of you know, events at DC in 1985~1986 made continuity a mess. And it was no better for Donna. And Barbara Gordon, originally intended as a replacement for Dick Grayson. She's older, and a woman, so no gay rumors.
Did Jill St. John get asked to make another guest appearance or two on Batman as Molly's twin sister, who comes to Gotham to find out what happened to Molly, who has disappeared without a trace but only Batman & Robin know that she fell into the atomic pile in the Batcave after she failed to kill Batman personally and was trying to escape from him because she thought he was going to kill her for seeing the Batcave's location, though Batman would've erased her knowledge of where it is? There have been other shows in which the stars performed as their identical twin or lookalike.
Burt Ward... excelente actor juvenil. No temió a los juicios y se atrevió a hacer una caracterización como ésta, aún cuando era un ídolo entre las chicas. Mis respetos! Y su personaje de Robin fue impecable siempre!
A shame that there wasn't an episode of the Batman TV series to reveal if The Riddler's onetime moll,Molly, did or didn't have any family when she later got killed in the Batcave after she fell into the atomic pile after her attempt to kill Batman failed and he tried to save her despite what she had tried to do to him for The Riddler. If Molly had relatives, they'd want to know what happened to her,if they cared about her.
well i think that it's the one after the one were they make batman drunk in a bar and they kidnap robin while he is inside. And on a side note the woman disguised as Robin makes it into the cave but dies after falling into that atomic thing they keep in there. (And i am not kidding)
Perhaps this is off-topic slightly, but here's to you George Carlin - RIP! You would have made a great guest villain on Batman! Pity, you left us too soon, my 24 year older half brother said for me to say here today.
And as someone else said here recently... "I'd tap that....and apparently, so would Riddler!" I love you TV Batman and Robin! cuz you are my hero's!!! regards from Scotty
A surprise that the Riddler didn't kiss Molly good-bye in case his plan to kill Batman by having Molly impersonate Robin so she can kill him at her convenience backfired. Also a surprise that the Riddler didn't whistle at Molly after seeing her nice legs while she was wearing a duplicate costume of Robin's before putting the mask on.
This version of Robin is funny but he isn't anything like the comics. People hate Robin as a character because they see him as a lame sidekick that he is portrayed as in other media. All Robin haters should take time to read a Batman comic book and figure out that Robin is more than just Batman's sidekick.
Back in the 80s, George Perez used to sell erotic drawings of characters for charity at cons, before the Big Two sent him a C&D. One of them was Spider-Man and Robin in bondage.
Batman unmasks molly, and asked her if she wants to be the new Robin. Dick Grayson is fired. Batgirl is jealous. Aunt Harriett is speechless. Riddler loses a hench girl. Alfred, " Why, Master Batman !!!". Robin, the girl wonder. Bruce Wayne " to the Bat poles!!". Commissioner Gordon , " Batman seems a little happier these days , hmmm." The end. Of course, Molly falls into the atomic pile , it never happens.
I'm assuming the close up shots are still Burt Ward because I really don't think Jill St. John could possibly look like a boy - it's strange that I really don't remember this episode but it would be nice if these shows were available on DVD - are they?
Even though the Riddler was excited seeing his female cohort dressed up as Robin to help him get rid of Batman,he didn't think that it may backfire & may never see her again, which he didn't seem to care later on.
i remember on youtube the 1960s batman shows voiced over by some guy. if you remember these vids do u remember where they went? because they were really funny!
Does anybody else think Riddler is way too excited to see his female minion dress up like Robin? lol
Nah, he's always like that. I guess Jim Carrey was inspired by him way too much.
That boi gay
Step 2: convincing Robin to dress up like her.
@@ericamiller2108 I mean, it's the 1966 Batman show, so there's an assumption they all are.
This is pretty gay.
As Robin is bound and unconscious, WHY doesn't the Riddler simply UNMASK him??
jeatig Because reasons.
Because he is stupid😻
the show would be canceled.
Did you ever notice that robin or even batman were captured and tied down a lot of times WHY then none of the crooks ever took their masks off to seek their identity!!!!!
In this era most of the villains straight up don't care/donwt want to easily find out who the batman is.
It’s make believe.
0:24 that seductive stance though.
The second part of the pilot episode, "Smack In The Middle." I saw this when it premiered on 13 January 1966. I love how Jill St. John looks as Robin!
I used to love Frank Gorshin's laugh. It was as catchy as the Joker's.
Gorshin was great here as always. And though it was early in the series, Ward seemed to be having fun with it.
This clip made me laugh so hard I sounded like a blubbering maniac. I miss this show so, so much.
"Fantastic Pretty Lady"

0:25 that pose is priceless.
Well, I can see where Jim Carry got his inspiration for the Riddler.
Robin swings both ways.
Robin looks just so natural standing like that.
If the Riddler ever cared about Molly at all, he would've cried when she didn't come back & that she failed to kill Batman. Odd that the Prince of Puzzlers never asked the Caped Crusaders what happened to her later on.
Robin's gay little stance at 0:25 just kills me!

Most accurate disguise ever
❤️ Riddler fake Batman

Holly cross dressing, Batman! I think I've watched all the episodes multiple times, but don't remember this scene. Thank you for sharing!

How funny that Jill St. John here doesn't look too far off from Robin in The Dark Knight Returns. *lol*
Yeah, I want a wig that can do that. Best damn wig ever.

Robin looks so cute being tied down.
I’ll say!!
Wow, the chick has a package!
Man, they've got to release this show on DVD!

"It's A Trap!"
Carrie Kelly confirmed for Batman vs Superman 😄

As the Joker has said, "that would ruin the fun!".
This is the best thing I've ever seen
All time favorite
Batman found out when "Robin" asked, "Does this outfit make me look fat?"
Perhaps this is off-topic slightly, but here's to you George Carlin - RIP!
You would have made a great guest villain on Batman! Pity, you left us too soon, my 24 year older half brother said for me to say here today.
OMG This is HILLARIOUS!!!! LOL It really makes my day.
Yup, and to think she went on to be a Bond girl... Diamonds Are Forever.
This scene turned me into a gay child at only six, back in '66. Still fighting it....
And as someone else said here recently...
"I'd tap that....and apparently, so would Riddler!"
I love you TV Batman and Robin! cuz you are my hero's!!!
regards from
Scotty
@saturn0205 Was that in Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns? I remember their was a female Robin in that.
“I knew it!” -lt Frank Drebin
OMG, Frank Gorshin as Riddler....priceless. Check out his face at :19 and he even checks out Robin's legs at :38....HAHAHAHAHAHA
I am convinced that The Riddler has the hots for Robin, the boy blunder!
where can i watch this full episode
madesyn fandom in an asylum.
why don't people make such shows anymore???? 50 years ago seems to have been a different world :D

Very nice!LOL
Who else enjoys seeing Robin tied up?

@@jonbrewer297 where can I buy them haha
LMFAO at 0:24 for about five minutes. XD XD XD
I want to wear the Robin costume!
Batman unmasks molly, and asked her if she wants to be the new Robin.

Batgirl is jealous.
Aunt Harriett is speechless.

i remember on youtube the 1960s batman shows voiced over by some guy. if you remember these vids do u remember where they went? because they were really funny!
finally, Puugipask, someone who agrees with me!!!
Incredible! How did they do that? (lol)
I'm convinced "The Riddler" is none other than.....Ernest T. Bass!!
You should never go near Batman's atomic thing!
When Batman rescued the phony Robin shouldnt the Riddler have tried to hide in the trunk of the Batmobile to see where the Batcave was?
The guy who played Robin was very "generously endowed" with male parts, but the censors of the show made sure he kept it all tightly under wraps.
What ever you do, don't pull the mask off of Robin and find out who he really is.
It's kinda worrying how well Robin can work that hip pop... Not that I'm complaining ^.^ BatmanxRobin Ftw
What do you expect.
Percisely Robin! Correct Robin! No Robin!
The pressure from batman got to him so he gave into his urges.
@CelestialWoodway The Frank Miller one was Carrie Kelly
I'd like to know how she hides her boobs.
Kuwait's right! Beautiful:) * Thanks
