Hands down the best GT1 demo on youtube in my opinion. The tune you're playing and your tasteful use of effects are just the cherry on top. Not only that, you managed to get me interested in that Garbage Collector of yours! I plan to eventually move to a Boss ES8 controlled board and that thing would perfect for integrating my Rubberneck.
Hey, thanks a lot! Regarding the Garbage Collector, I believe the ES-8 can do that on its own with the CTL outputs. But of course you're welcome to buy one anyway :)
I got my GT2 a couple months ago and I feel like I've only hit the tip of the iceberg with all the available tones from that amp. Excellent demo, you've given me some great ideas to try out. Thanks!
Great demo once again man! I saw the Valhalla fuzz it sounded great, I have a double pedal from him coming my way, the Valhalla one knob with the Morgul boost. Cheers
@@OscillatorDevices thanks for the reply. I go back and forth with trying to use IRs or just trying to record a cab. I tend to get better and easier results with the cab and attenuator, but then there's the issue of SPL. Great riffs, btw, do you have a band I can check out?
@@soundstorm9508 I never got good results with a mic'd cab. It's the lack of hearing the result and setting up the mic at the same time that turned me to IRs. Never looked back. I don't have a band in that style at the moment, but thanks :)
You mentioned downsides to the amp, can you clarify that some more? Dirt and fuzzes DONT go through preamp well? I thought the majority of both demo 1 & 2 had dirt pedals going through it and sounded great. Is this relative to other amps like the roost or would you not recommend using this amp for fuzzes? How does that compare to GT120 (if any experience)?
Demo 1 is in the mode where you switch off parts of the preamp and use the GT1 clean. In Demo 2 I used pedals that play well with the GT1. It's fuzzes like Big Muffs or Fuzz Faces that doesn't play well. It's kind of similar to a Rockerverb, where pedals like that create a garbled sound, like parts of the signal are missing. No experience with the GT120.
nice demo! Suprised about the effects loop not working like an effects loop. Thanks for the heads up. So you cant put your delay and reverb etc through the effects loop really then? That is a dealbreaker for me.
Yes, not without other buffers. The signal coming out of the send is too loud for pedals and pedals cannot reach the level the return is expecting. ODs will clip at lowest gain settings and digital delays will be far too quiet.
The gt1 is the highest gain amp offered by matamp? I am seriously considering picking one of these up. I usually run just my guitar into the amp,at most an OD to tighten things for something a touch modern.
Hey great video! I own a GT1 myself and lately have been having some issues with excessive feedback. As soon as any dirt hits it, even just boosts, it is always verging on screeching feedback if i leave a note to sustain at all. Have you encountered this at all and if so, any recommendations for settings to avoid this? Thanks!
There are two things I consider crucial. First, dial in your tone the way you record it. Do not try to capture a tone that you already dialed in "in the room". Use headphones or your monitors for that. That saves you a lot of headache. Second, double, or quad tracking. Yeah, but a video on that is over due.
Hold on, my mistake, it's the opposite. The signal of the send is too loud. You'll need a minus booster for the send, to bring down the signal to a level that works with guitar pedals. After that that you might need a booster to bring the signal up to the level of the send.

Yet again a masterful review of gear I will enjoy listening to as I walk the dogs or go about my life. Thank you very much.
Wow, awesome demo!!! Thanks so much for putting in the hours to give us this 👍 // Wince
Everything, from the insightful comments to the pallbearer-esque song you play on this is awesome. I wish I had your budget! :D
I got that vibe too!
Very well heard. The last riff before the solo has a very similar chugga pattern than Quicksand of Existence.
I've been listening to all your demos, your music is awesome, would love a release!
Fantastic video!

This is the greatest amp on the planet
Mother of god, this all sounds glorious. Well done! Would love to know more about how you’re recording/ mixing this! 🤘
Thank you! Yeah, a video about that is long overdue. But you'll be surprised how little I'm actually doing.
Gorgeous tone, once again...!
EP needed, lol... Seriously, though, imagine... 😵💫😵💫😵💫😎🤯
If I had a bit more time....
Killer thiiiickk and sick tone❤!!!
Probably my favorite Matamp demo on TH-cam. Were you using different IRs for each side or did you double track identical setups?
I'm using different IRs for each side. Most of the time it was a greenback and a V30. The rest is identical.

Massive Pallbearer vibes!
Dimed gt1 sounds imperially glorious
@Oscillator Devices lovely demo thank you! Is your Dunable a bariton scale or 25.5?
Thank you. It's a 25.5

So after these months that you have the matamp, what would your opinion be? Worth it? Has it become your first choice, your go to amp? Cheers!
No, sadly not. The Roost stays no. 1. It's just better for pedals.
@@OscillatorDevices that's what I thought! Thnx man! Waiting for you next video!
My gt1 will arrive next week and im super excited. Does the amp take dirt pedals better in non master volume mode?
Yes, definitely. Excellent pedal platform in non master volume mode
FUCK YEAH BAT COVEN. I have one and I fucking LOVE it.

It is setup to work with devices like the roland RE-201 space echo

I'm not sure, but the GT-1 hasn't that much gain on its own.
@@OscillatorDevices oh thats a shame.
Love to try one, but i think orange will still be my go to brand

Oh shite, doesn't have any issues with mine yet, but I don't use it very often. Have you tried asking the guys at Matamp? Hopefully they can help.
Did you figure out the issues with your gt1?
Would love to know how you recorded this! I just recently got an OR100 and would love to capture a tone like this for recording!

Thanks for the feedback my dude 🙏 keep the killer videos coming!
Damn, I wish they had you just demo all their amps.
Yeah, I wish that, too :)
I’ve been curious about trying a buffer pedal with time based pedals in my gt1 fx loop….have you tried this?
A buffer won't help. The send signal is just too quiet. A booster, or a line mixer could work.
@@OscillatorDevices maybe like a tc spark mini?

My favorite was with the Blackhawk.
man I wish I could afford one of those
I’d love ❤️ to get your Addictive drum tracks. Willing to share?
Man you are a fucking scientist of doom tone haha. Have a you recorded any albums? If not you should.
"Fucking Scientist of Doom Tone", I guess I need a name tag with that :D
