      Definitely worth that trip for that first fish!!! Niceee eating, gotta say that location is key for any fishing. Australia is no lie my place to move to when I retire!!! Your vids convinces me that the costs which is 360 is good fishing. I'm freaking moving there just to fish and find gold and opal and drink a good cold beer!!! Cheers

    What a great advertisement for Western Australia's mighty south coast! Amazing fishing, whales crashing the party, good drone footage, family friendly language and a couple of good mates dodging that "fog" 😉.
    Once again Gido - Brilliant. I'm amazed you're not an ambassador for WA tourism & reckon they haven't yet woken up to your potential. Hope they do mate.

    Big like from me! Love the Covid look! My hair is starting to kind of look wild too. Been smashing the eastern rock blackfish (pigs) of late around Wollongong and often think of you when I'm wrestling a brute up a rock ledge then dispatch of it quickly. Just like you, no mucking around and love a feed of fish!
    Next time with a 2-3 kg fish try this: gut, gill and scale it and leave it whole. Put a bit of oil in a pan and lightly fry the fish, squeezing a generous amount of lemon juice over it (to get rid of the fishy smell) and turning it often until it browns a little. Take the fish out and place it in a large pot, pouring the hot oil in over the fish as well. Put some peeled knobs (cut into cubes) of ginger in with the fish and fill the saucepan with water. Salt the water with a generous amount of salt. Cook on high until it boils then adjust heat and cook on low for a further 40 minutes until the water turns white (a sign the fish is super fresh) and reduces. In the last 10 minutes, add some chopped coriander to the soup and more salt to taste. Serve over jasmine rice or by itself as a dish and you will have one super healthy and tasty Chinese fish soup - my wife is Chinese. Don't worry about any TH-cam critics as I eat this soup every week and it's awesome so their criticism means jack to me. Let me know how you go!

    I would really like to know two things.... How deep does the water have to be for you to make it a meaningful spot ? And second, how do you find out how deep the water is at the spot you're interested in before you go there?

    • @gidosfishingadventures
      @gidosfishingadventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends what I want to catch. Sometimes I fish very shallow if I’m sight casting to Groper. But generally I like a spot that is 15m or more deep. This location is around 30m deep in places I think. I have no way to know how deep it is till I fish it

    i often find that fish hone in on bait when i use berley and switch off plastics and lures, i guess they just go into scavenging mode and figure why use the energy hunting when there is just free food laying around, only problem with bait is you catch so many more fish you dont want...

    • @gidosfishingadventures
      @gidosfishingadventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Catching fish you don’t want is half the reason I fish lures. The other reasons are it’s cleaner and more satisfying to catch good fish on lures. But bait still has it’s place

    • @toddmillar4041
      @toddmillar4041 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also if the barometer is low the fish become lethargic and too lazy to chase lures so they slowly amble up to bait and feed. Saying that i bet that was the best salmon you caught for a while LOL
