I’m currently on the fire service as a volunteer firefighter and this looks cool but in my state we can’t have sirens only lights

There’s a local volunteer fire fighter, it has a nice set up with a rambler siren, that is so cool
Great set up. Made a great choice of buying the Touchmaster. Sweep clears intersections beautifully. There is another model called “TM4” which has a switch to play your favorite tone “Ultra Hilo” by itself.
Ill have to check it out!

Wish stuff like this would be allowed in Germany, once the parliament debated about green lights but they argumented: ,,Green lights on the streets would confuse the people and lead to accidents ''. Of course a green light on a car is more confusing and dangerous than a guy going 90 in a 30 zone (kmh)

I run Sound off lights and whelen carbide siren. I wouldn't run clear in the back because it blinds the driver. Run yellow in the back. I run red clear in the front interior bar. Red yellow in the front grill, led's in the headlights, tail lights, and backup lights and a rear interior lightbar with red and yellow with a traffic advisor arrow stick. I also run a 200 watt siren with a rumbler.

Some places don’t allow civilian vehicles to have lights and sirens but I think that’s stupid if you are actually an emergency responder and on-route you encounter something.

A department close to you may have a Junior/Explorer program. If you can, try to find out!
Talk to your local fire chief about an entry level Junior Firefighter program! It'll give you a HUGE head start in to our field of service!

Good you found a insurance company that will cover your pov as an emergency vehicle.
It surprisingly wasn’t an issue at all. I fully expected my rates to go higher than what they already were (because I was an 18 YO male) however, nothing like that…
I wish my state would allow us to run sirens in our POVs

Great setup , in Ontario canada were only allowed to have green lights but they still work most of the time a siren would be helpful.
In Quebec we are allowed nothing :/

@@engineco.1494Saskatchewan dude here. Reds and sirens, and same emergency vehicle privileges from fire trucks are also applicable to POVS here.

@@engineco.1494So POVs here in Saskatchewan can bend the Traffic Safety Act here the same way fire trucks do. Pulling over is legally required.
I personally wouldn’t run white to the rear, in my opinion red and amber is good, and I would make some all red instead of red and white it does look pink lol, but all in all nice set up
I would do anything to be able to run another color but white. Our state only recognizes r/w for volunteer POV's. Id love to have blue tbh. lol
We can run RED/BLUE/Amber/WHITE/GREEN
@@drewdjjd398 Where im at in Pennsylvania were only allowed Blue and white, no white to the rear and no siren or horn. If you a chief or officer you can use red and white with a siren

Texas can run any color! Depends on department, amber is always acceptable, red amber to the rear is a safe choice

That's a pretty cool setup I used 2 be a volunteer firefighter and in my own personal vehicle I was not allowed 2 use any lights or sirens I was only able 2 use my flashers/4-ways but I'd still have 2 pull over and stop and let my follows that r going 2 the same call as I was had 2 move 4 them but I was still slightly allowed 2 break some rules of the road we only had stop signs we're I was a firefighter at with every narrow roads and little 2 no shoulder but regular traffic were still supposed 2 yield 2 me when I was using my flashers 4-ways on because my chief said that acted like my red lights even though they were amber color lol be safe and careful my follow brother firefighter I got kicked off the team because I picked up a DUI that's why I'm not longer a firefighter I do regret it I miss being a fire fighter but with my new health issues no on will let me join there station in southern Oregon

In Indonesia even though we volunteer, our tqpi is not obtained installing sirens and strobes in our personal vehicles😅
What are your thoughts about set up ions grille Rota beam dual reflections magnet with dominator rear on 2015 escape pov ems and additional side warning plus dou2 dash front warning avenger
I’d slow the grill and front tag lights, they look white. You will get a better response from the public and wii look nicer. Other then that, very nice.
Wish you had all you lights linked I really like them there are tons to choose from but really expensive

Tip: Set the patterns to flash only red and only white once the way they are flashing now it looks pink and cheap

What brand and where did you get the grille lights? I bought some that looked just like those off of eBay in red/white, got them and tested them, and they were no where near that bright, in all honesty, they would have been better off in the trash. Yours seem much brighter
I have a bunch of different stuff. Everything but my sirens and speakers are just Amazon brand equipment. I don't see the point in putting a bunch of money into name brand stuff that does the exact same thing. I believe I actually also purchased those grille lights off eBay. We're you using the right gauge wire?

I’m assuming that you’re a captain or higher. Or does W.Va. allowall volunteers to use full emergency warning systems in their pov’s?
Your last statement is correct. State of WV says any volunteer with FF1 and EVOC can have lights and a warning device
@@NathanielTexas same here in KY. Backup runs for a City Fire or EMS service also allow for red/white lights w/ a siren.

Do you do all the wiring yourself or do you have a guy? If you did it yourself, where did you learn? I'd like to learn so I can do at least some of my lights myself
The only thing I had someone help me do was tap into my fuse box because I wasn’t exactly sure how to do that. Other then that, I ran the wires, hid them, mounted the lights, grounded, mounted the speakers, etc. Just played around with stuff, watched a few basic electric 101 videos and it worked out pretty well! :))
So ... what are your EVOC (emergency vehicle operator) qualifications ie: training? In addition to that, what are your EVOC quals in your personal vehicle (ie; EVOC training in your specific personal vehicle ... 2WD vs. AWD vs. 4WD vs. vehicle type, etc)? Does your insurance company cover you when you're operating your personally owned vehicle (POV) as an emergency vehicle? What are the laws in your state regarding emergency lighting in private vehicles? Just curious, because this exact kind of thing has caused legal (and liability) problems for individual volunteers and their departments across the United States in recent years.
So, state of WV is pretty cut and dry with their EVOC qualifications. I took my EVOC almost 2 years ago through a local training company that does all of our firefighter qualifications. The messed up part of our EVOC is, you can take your EVOC in an ambulance and that qualify you to drive a fire truck. Thankfully, our department has certain SOP's put in place that says you must pass the EVOC and then be checked off on each piece of apparatus through a dedicated course. Also, if the truck has water, you must be able to pump that truck. In response to your question about the POV qualification, I did not have to take it in my truck but I did take it in an 19ton Engine. Vehicle type doesn't matter in this state. WV says a POV is a POV. No matter of vehicle type/make/model. When it comes to insurance, whenever i'm in my own vehicle, it is my insurance that will take the hit if I would have an accident. Department makes it very clear that they are not reliable if something happens. Only time the department is responsible is for when there is a misuse of lights or siren. State of WV requires 360 lighting, and an audible warning device on all vehicles. Only allowing the use of red, white, & yellow lights. I'm super surprised our state is one of the few that allows us to do this. It is a bunch of liability and can very easily make your station look bad if not careful.

I purchased the Kenwood from eBay and had it programmed, the siren was through TheFireHallFleaMarket on FB marketplace
I am planing on being a volunteer, I heard you have yo wits 6 months before you can add lights, anywho, do you like it? I think it would be awesome to help the community

What kind of lights do you have where did you get them at ?
I didn't see the point in spending a lot of money on high tech branded stuff whenever the Amazon products are just almost as effective. So, that is where I pulled majority of my stuff

All states have their own set laws on allowing this. Some only allow a single blue light, some like WV allow what I have. Just depends whichever end of the country you’re on.
May i recommend on your split red/white lights that you flash the red and white separately. Cause the white over powers the red and it's looks like a pink light. Just saying
I actually noticed that when I recorded this. I'm not happy with the amount of patterns on my visor lights truthfully. I'm probably going to switch back to the pattern where the r/w are split on each visor

Where is your station decal?
I don’t have a volunteer back plate, (which is optional here) I have our sticker in the back glass that all of our members have, and I have our volunteer front plate issued to members
How much did that Kenwood cost?
I paid $100 for the Kenwood

I built it myself with my low grade craftsmanship skills. lol

Which siren out of those 2 is cheapest?
The Galls was definitely cheaper. Just because it doesn’t come anywhere close to the same capabilities as the Federal Signal. Between the lighting capabilities, light bar options, the 1-2-3 lighting option for rear and front lighting displays. I’m definitely very proud to own it

Just joined the fire department as a volunteer in my town. How hard was this set up to install?
I didn’t struggle to bad. The hardest part I struggled with was getting my visor lights to fit properly because Ford is stubborn like that. Just as long as you have a basic understanding with craftsman ship and wiring you shouldn’t have much of an issue

Nathaniel Texas It’s all good, I’m going in prob next june. They are trying to get the laws changed. People don’t move over, and can barely see us. Being in a rural setting is understandable to only have one light, but in a suburban area it’s horrible.

Just another whacker!. The volunteers love the fact they can install lights and sirens on their POV's. Makes them feel like cops and some in fact have pulled over drivers if those drivers just bothered them. Since this is a small hick town, nobody cares these volunteer firefighters are acting like they are cops. What's next, they install cages in their cars, carry a duty belt with a gun, Taser, cuffs, etc. so they think they are cops. Just think if they do something that violates someone's rights, the city better get out their checkbook to pay out from a big lawsuit.
