The ford explorers are great for emergency equipment because they make vehicle specific models that usually also fit the civilian models.

I love this setup! I have a 2018 Civilian I use to respond and cover breaking news. I agree that grill is a mess for surface mounts. I was going to order PIU grill but the grill & bumper are one assembly! I have removed my roof rack rails and installed surface mount rubber trim in the channels gives it a much more sleek look! I also like your wheels some of the XLT's had ugly wheels:)

They have the quad "pucks" you can mount to the wing mirrors on the access plate.

Looks good. My only suggestion is to switch the rear light to red/amber. NFPA says no white to rear. Also I would set up a switch for just red. That way at night time when responding or when parked at a scene you can kill the white. NFPA also says no white flashing when parked at a scene and that patterns when parked should be slower than ones when in drive/responding.

This is a POV. It is not fire apparatus. NFPA has got zero to do with his POV. His state laws do. He can do whatever he likes...and if you think that white in the back, through the tint, is going to blind someone... I gather you have never actually seen any police cars at night...ever...or fire apparatus...? They may not have white...but the sheer volume of lights is FAR more blinding...and they have never heard of dim mode. DVI is new and is not available in these.

@@drwheycooler8423 if you go to scene then yes it does. Also, when you respond to calls whether you are going to the station or scene you are operating under your department’s insurance policy, because they approved you to use lights.

@@drwheycooler8423 I’ve seen plenty of police cars at night. I didn’t mention DVI, I mentioned slower patterns and cutting white in park. Feniex has 3 modes so changing patterns and eliminating white is possible. To each their own, I offered a suggestion there’s no reason to become heated and angry.

@@adama4618 heated and angry?? 🙄 You poor snowflake... You sounded like a douche and his STATE laws dictate what he can do. NFPA in regard to lights is a set of standards and guidelines that apply to...can you guess...? Fire apparatus. They are not laws. That 360 red from the highest point practical would be an example of a state statute he has to follow. Anyway, good talk. We're done here even though you sound like a lot of fun. Have a great day. Bye! 🙄

Do you have a full list of the POV items that you used on your vehicle? Did you have to use any additional car batteries or junction boxes in your vehicle to complete all of the connections?

Nice i understand all states are different but from what i understand if you are not a fire chief you can not have sirens on your pov i been a vol FF for 23 years we only run blue lights but no sirens anyway nice setup.

Here in Saskatchewan, Canada, Volunteer Firefighters may use reds and sirens in their personal vehicles, but only if their municipality designates their vehicles as emergency vehicles, and the Fire Chief gives you his or her blessing to use sirens in your car. Then, you must pass a SEVO (Saskatchewan Emergency Vehicle Operators) course. Pulling over for these vehicles is required, and they can break the Highway Traffic Act the same way that the big red fire trucks have done.
We are the only Province in all of Canada to do this.

Here in my area of Missouri, depending on fire department/fire protection district, volunteers are allowed to run lights and sirens after their probation status has ended and the chief has signed your vehicle off as being accepted.

Amber/Red to the rear, not clear. Don’t blind people. Other than that, 2/10 Whacker setup.

Pretty humble setup if you ask me. Some vollies try to fit as much lights as possible and have multiple siren packages. I've even seen one with a federal Q attached on their personal 😆
