  • www.BlueTexInsu... This is Part 2 Of 2.
    Part 1 is HERE: • Part 1 - Vapor Barrier... - How Bubble Foil Metal Building Insulation Is Made
    Metal building insulation and vapor barriers. This video explains how bubble foil insulation is made from Mylar or metalized film. This is basically a potato chip bag. And, in 5-15 years in most metal buildings, the radiant heat and the UV from the lights will cause it to break down and disintegrate. This will allow the warm-moist air to to reach the cold metal and cause condensation. www.BlueTexInsulation.com is a superior product that uses pure aluminum rolls (instead of Mylar) and high density EPE or EXP foam instead of bubbles. This creates a product that will last, and won't dry out and become brittle. BlueTex Insulation also has a layer of tearproof woven fabric to make it more durable to tears and punctures. BlueTex Insulation can be used on both NEW metal buildings or EXISTING metal buildings.

    I noticed their putting the Blue Tex pro 2mm sandwiched between the Frame structure and the outer panels? Don't you want an air gap between them?

      When installing www.BlueTexInsulation.com if you want a radiant barrier and vapor barrier, then YES you need an air space between foil and the metal. If you ONLY want a vapor barrier (common in colder areas) you can install the metal direct to the foil without an airspace.

    Can this be used as a house wrap? And does the small channels allow moisture to be shed off?

      @BlueTexInsulation  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You could. But, www.AtticFoil.com housewrap is probably a better choice. We have a lot of home builders use this instead of Tyvek. atticfoil.com/index.php/applications/house-wrap-behind-siding/

    Would this be good for an old mobile home walls with metal siding placed between studs before installing the insulation?

      For that type of application, I would actually recommend using www.AtticFoil.com with this install method: atticfoil.com/index.php/applications/inside-exterior-walls-hotmixed-climates/

    could/would this be used to insulate existing rectangular ductwork in a crawl space?

    • @BlueTexInsulation
      @BlueTexInsulation  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you can use the www.BlueTexInsulation.com to wrap ductwork. It works great. I would actually use the Supreme 6mm product with the foil side facing OUT (to get a radiant barrier) and use FOIL tape to seal the seams. bluetexinsulation.com/products/bluetex-6mm-supreme-50-wide

    3:14 "UV Resistant Coating"? really? what is it for? where does UV radiation come from, since it's not exposed to the sun?

    • @BlueTexInsulation
      @BlueTexInsulation  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Even interior lights emit UV. Over time it adds up and will cause deterioration.
