It was great mate, I have been watching over 20 times because I am using Sony and Canon for my wedding shoots. I always on fence when I have a wedding. Best is your tutorial just to polish up the settings in case my assistants have changed the settings. I didn't find any good on other TH-camrs. So you are the number 1. cheers

very educative. I bought this camera after owning the 1DX, Mark 1V 5D and Sony. When B & H sent this camera to me, I thought it was like a toy. You actually made me start having a change of heart for I wanted to buy the Red2 Komodo and tech support guy told me, the R5C would be better. Thanks dude.
Excellent video! Thank you so much for this. One thing to note: 2:00 - changing LCD brightness does help a little, but to really see the screen better in a bright situation, you need to change the LCD Luminance from Normal to +2. The one thing I loved about the R5 is you could set a custom button for this setting so I would always engage +2 luminance when I was outside. You can't set a custom button for it on the R5C so I have it at +2 all of the time.
@@SamHolland on the R5 you can set a screen to high brightness but i never seen an option for the c70. I do have to mention that if you leave it on you might forget about the function it and underexpose by leaving it on.
@@SamHolland does the r5c oversamples the 4k 60 in full frame mode? how is it comparable of the r6 4k 60p sharpness or the sony a1's in super 35 5.8k oversampled 4k 60p?

So many people not using an EVF, that's why they need raw, their exposure and WB is all over the place with just looking at the screen outside. Not to mention not utilizing dual slot recording where there is one, fb groups are full of people with destroyed footage because they used only one slot.

I think: continous autofocus, large area, but what is with face detection on the wedding are very oft Man faces in frame... Second question is: I don't have many experience with clog 3. Can I go with another profile to example 709 canon or neutral ? Or this is no sense and with the r5c should I take the footage with the clog3. Whats the best format for smooth editing? I'm recording in xf-avc 10bit and I find its just extremely sluggish. Coming from blackmagic cameras that just recorded in quicktime, editing the canon footage is a chore and is really annoying me how slow and choppy the playback is in premiere pro

Thanks for the video. Is there any way to save all your customized settings to a button (or elsewhere) to quickly access them since this camera does not have a dial with custom "C1...C2...C3..." ? For example, I do a lot of recording with my present camera in either 4k 120p or high res 8k 24p. I can assign these settings to a dial. How can I accomplish something similar with the R5C? (I see a similar question has already been posted. I guess I can't do this on the R5? Crazy.)
I dont think cinema cameras have custom modes. That being said I feel like i can change my settles on something like a c70 better than an r5 even thought it doesnt have a c1-3 because of the amount of useful buttons.

Anyone in the comment section know of a way to get rid of the blinking S&F on the top of the camera. I checked to what I believe is all the UI settings and nothing on there allows me to turn the blinking off.

I was going to order the R5C as well, as I've been working with Canon since 10 years, but it turned out of stock basically everywhere in the UK and I took the chance to avoid killing my wallet 😁 Went for a S5 with 20-60 lens in kit for 1200£ on Amazon UK!

Thank you. Yeh always c log for me. Check out these LUTs - gamut.io/?gamut=sam89 They’re my favourite and work the best in my opinion. I also did a colour grading tutorial where you can see how natural the LUTs are. Hope this helps. 🙏🏻🎥
I was confused with how to format the CF express card on video mode so in a panic on the day of the shoot I formatted it on the photo side and that seemed to work as well. Are you able to change the dials to adjust ISO / Ap?

Hi. Great informative video. Love it. But don't you find the fan casing rather fragile in terms of build quality? I feel like if I ever dropped it, it would shatter. Feels like cheap plastic. In addition, there is no weather sealing on this camera. If not for those things, I think I'd grab one right away. What's your take?

Agreed. I was going to say the same. Before you adjust Brightness use the Luminance dial.

My camera is hunting for autofocus when there is not a subject. It is really bad. Do you have any settings that might mitigate this issue

Maan, I just tried Initialised on Loaded Memory CARD and ended up losing all the Data in it. is there any other way to get the photos back?

Love my R5c. Do you always shoot clog? I dunno. I like WideDR. I like knowing exactly what I'm getting as I shoot. Canon LUTs are weak. Great work.

Hey Rodic. Unfortunately, you can only record 8K in raw. I would love to be able to shoot 8K in XF-AVC. I don't know why this couldn't be an option.

You can also shoot 8K in HEVC H.265.
