    Wow! Memories.... Chiefly of my first MARATHON, the White Rock Lake marathon, December 1978! 70 degrees in December? Windy? Well, it IS Dallas. I kept looking for the H L Hunt home near the lake. You know, the one with the long curved driveway that "I dare you to drive all the way through" during the sixties......... Memories.... Thanks, Mike Mason

    Living here, I totally grew up hearing the story of the Lady of the Lake, love that you included it! And I'm SO glad you went to The Truck Yard - it's the greatest, we hang out there so much!!!! You hit some of the best spots, great episode!

    I'm about to cry. I grew up in Dallas and lived all over the place. I've shopped in Snyder Plaza, I partied on Greenville Ave. and in Deep Ellum. It has changed so much. I miss it. 😭

    I've lived in Dallas and Lakewood for most of my life and we never refer to this part of Dallas as the "North Side" - North Dallas is more up I-75 near the Galleria... bordering up to Richardson. I know you have to know that. It may have been considered "North Dallas" wayyyyyyyyyy back in the day, but we've grown and North Dallas is a lot further "north" than SMU and Highland Park. Also, I grew up very near White Rock Lake. That is considered East Dallas. Love what you do, just get your areas of Dallas right!

      As someone who grew up around 635 and tollway, I've never heard anyone refer to Highland Park or anything south of NWHY as North Dallas.

    I just watched your episodes on Ft Worth and Dallas. Are you aware that Ft Worth has a major university like Dallas does. You failed to mention it at all. Your segment on restaurants on Magnolia Ave you never mentioned one of Ft Worth’s best restaurants which is Paris Coffee Shop which has a great history and some of the best food in the city.

    Restaurants in Dallas come and go like the morning dew. And a lot of their clientele is young and ready to eat whatever is placed before them-and equally ready to move on to the next new place. Plus, some of the hangers-on survive on reputations no longer deserved. You need to spend some time in a city to nail down the places worth playing up.

    So I recently went to this burger house joint and the burgers suck. Sorry these burgers are maybe good for college inexperienced types but for senior folks it pretty bad. It just a tad better than McDonald’s but for the price they charge it’s just not worth it. Go elsewhere!

    • @TheDaytripper
      @TheDaytripper  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Totally disagree. And I've eaten all the "great" burgers of Texas. Just depends on what you prefer. I love a thin patty old-school style burger and that's what this is. Those half-pound steak house burgers are good, but not my favorite.

    I had the pleasure to serve Governor George W. Bush, Laura and on one occasion his father and mother in the Formal Dining Room at Austin Country Club.
    They are wonderful people and I cherish those memories when I was working there.
    Now dealing with Secret Service whether it was for George H. W. Bush or Ladybird - that was an entirely different story.

    sorry but the host is not funny by any means and it does hurt the show. the show has enough good elements to be good, doesn't need to have a comedic side to add to it. those side skits was very lame, just stick to the town's features and good.
