You continue to be an invaluable resource to me in my own DIY maintenance on my 2008 Burgman Exec. I expect unknown to you, thousands of fellow shade tree mechanics like me have thanked you countless times as the tackle their Burgman repairs and maintenance. Thank you from this one in Franklin, NC
Thanks for the info assholes at suzuki dealer don't even want to do the warranty work on my bike so as usual back to having the most trustworthy person I know do it. ME!
I just bought an 08 650 and have what is probably a ridiculous question. Are there three oils to change? I see oil/filter; transmission and final gear.
Is there any danger to overfilling? The mech that did mine said he filled it till it starts to come out, but I notice in the video it did not come out when you did the 300ml. I now wonder if its over filled...
oh my. I've had my bike for three years and didn't know I had to change the oil there. I do my engine oil and transmission oil but never my final gear oil
Check the owners manual to the bike. But there is a piece by the brake caliper that sticks out. It's right next to where the hose for the brake fluid goes in. That is the thing for bleeding your brakes, which should be done every 2-3 years or so. You can even make your own brake bleeder using a bottle and a hose. Check out Chris Fix (he shows car fixes but some can also be done the same way as a motorcycle) and type in "how to bleed your brakes" and he'll show you not only how to bleed them but how to make your own brake bleeder w/o spending $15-$20 for one at the store.
Then after you're done refill the master cylinder for your brake fluid. You should know where they are. Those are the one or two (some have 2 but most should have 1) black boxes just above your handlebars.
