Fun fact: TeamFourStar was actually supposed to appear in DBZ Kai. They played the actors in the recreation of the Cell Games. That scene sadly got cut by the studios.

Funimation was okay with it, it was Toei that stepped in at the last second and cut it

Just going to point this out: I like how TFS had Hercule wanting to rethink his life, and hesitating to make any claims, until he was pressured into it because people were *rioting* and he was probably the only person they would actually listen to. While it is true that he falsely took credit for the win and started leaning back into the boastful “Champ” persona, it was all for show. Everyone else had f~cked off to nowhere and left him as the only one who COULD take credit for defeating Cell, and he had to make millions of people feel safe after the world was nearly torn apart.
I get the feeling that, if TFS HAD done Season 4, they would have given Hercule a (relatively minor) case of PTSD related to the incident. He keeps his cool in public, of course, but he can never fully escape the feeling of existential terror he experienced that day.
How is no one commented on this that’s honestly a great idea it’s a shame that they’re not
It is, but given their own burnout and the constant demonitization and take downs of their episodes, as well as this being so good for a finale, they felt it appropriate to leave it here.

That is it spot on. Given the fact no one on Earth will give up energy for the spirit bomb to kill Buu until Hercule demands it, and then everyone on Earth hands over power.

Little nice touch at the end: 16 is actually in heaven, so he DID have a soul. Some heart warming closure for the character. Also, unfortunately you couldn't see the teaser for Season 4 that was originally at the end of the episode, it was pretty awesome, had the Z-Warriors in their Boo Saga sprites, complete with a muffled version of "We gotta power" playing in the background, but they edited it out after they announced they were done with the series.

they're not "androids" it was a mistranslation. they're enhanced humans, or cyborgs. they're still "mostly" human, so they technically can get stronger, but dont get exhausted and have infinite KI because thats how Dr. Gero tempered with them
Was gonna comment the same, in Japan they're Cyborg 17 and 18, or C17/C18, they even joke about it in this dub. They're augmented humans and as Dr. Briefs says earlier in the show: "Babymaker is still intact." Krillin's wish was always to remove the bombs, not make them human.
Plus in Super the thing 17 used the most was his energy shield, which was pretty much shown throughout the series to be near invulnerable, even against attacks that could easily kill him.
Ohhh, never knew or thought about that, that would explain why the androids do so well in the tournament of power.

I love how Goku actually DOES know that Mr. Satan is taking his credit and actually appreciates it like you said. That scene in Super where Goku is in a street brawl tournament and ChiChi shows up, so Goku asks Hercule to punch him and he fake ‘blasts off my from the punch!!! 🤣🤣 but then he flies back real fast and says “I forgot my tractoooooorrrr *yoink*” picks it up and *blasts off* again 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 one of my favorite scenes hahahahha
2 years late but I remeber that scene I completely forgot about that till now. I just couldn't bieleve the audacity of trying to pull that stunt to begin with considering ChiChi is also a Martial Artist. But coming back for the Tractor just made me go for fucks sake.
I have a new appreciation for DBZA watching the final again separate from when it first aired. Thanks Normies, looking forward to some of that added content next week.

Androids were originally humans, hence Cell calling them cyborgs. 17 became stronger simply by training. Keep in mind, 17 was just a guy with no substantial power and through Gero's modifications became stronger than super saiyan Vegeta. Imagine if someone of Tien or Krillin's power had been modified. There's no reason why 17 couldn't train to raise his power level and with his infinite energy he could literally train as much as he wanted.
The Super manga actually retconned the Cell Games where the Cell Jrs. somehow regenerated and then eventually found their way to 17's island, and are the whole reason he wound up getting stronger since he ended up constantly fighting against them until he eventually got stronger than them and basically domesticated them allowing them to also live on the island.
@@ChaosZero1031 Other than the manga and anime being different...that's just really REALLY stupid. There's no way he could have contended with 1, let alone 7, at his old power. Also, if they regenerated like Cell they would have gotten a zenkai making them even stronger. Also Also, why wouldn't anyone on Earth have sensed them? They aren't like 17 who they can't sense. 17 claims to have domesticated them yet they still attacked Trunks and Goten...it just seems like the dumbest Dragon Ball Heros level fan service. Hope it doesn't become part of anime canon ever.

Feel people often miss the significance of Vegeta interfering in the finish against Cell. Of all the Z warriors, he embodies the “honour of one-on-one battles” more than ever. He even complained that krillin and gohan saved him on namek cos it was against his pride. He mocked trunks for not understanding the pride related to one-on-one combat. Eventually he rises above it all when Cell kills his “baby boy” and hits Cell in the back to cost him the fight. A *perfect* character arc.
Watching the end of Godzilla: King of the Monsters where they reveal King Ghidorah’s severed head made me remember something: Android 16 ripped off Imperfect Cell’s tail. Theoretically, someone could bring Cell back from that.
Piccolo was SO much better in this show.
This was so satisfying to watch for those who have been watching since the first half of the series, it was awesome.
I just noticed they put in the Bleach Hellverse Lucifers dance part 1 OST for when Vegeta went crazy on Cell.

@@spondylus4784 There's the epilogue (trunks goes back and eliminated 17, 18 and cell) and 3 Kais: 1 as a April fools joke that was the garlick saga they skipped early on before king cold showed up, than the 2 parts of the Kai for season 3

Well, at the very least, 18 has reproductive organs. Now we've got this thing going into the official games and such that she doesn't have to eat and things like that.
Kind of like how Piccolo doesn't have to eat in spite of all the times we've seen him eat in DB and several times in Super now. Hell, the first time we saw Piccolo Jr. as a child, he popped up out of the ocean with a fish in his hand snd took a bite of it.
The canon of the series seems to change on Toriyama's whim these days.

Vegeta’s move wasn’t even a Galick Gun...it was a single, super-weak Ki blast...the kind Cell, and the entire series, was forever mocking. All the energy he had left, when it mattered most. That’s what makes it so great 😊

Eh the Star wars sequels have a pretty tight grip on that title. At least Gohan had a reason to not be great. He's not a fighter. He did his own thing. As much as that sucks for fans it's good for him as a character.

To be honest, Android 17 has unlimited energy and stamina, which means he can constantly train and get stronger, with no real limit. In fact, training for like 14-15 years by himself and getting as strong as he was makes more sense than Gohan shaking off his rust in like an episode.

They got out of range and Vegeta shot the blast from afar to distract him. It wasn’t a long beam struggle in the manga.
17 and 18 are cyborgs meaning they still had their human parts, so in DB Super 17 trained like a human fighter to get stronger along with his cyborg parts
Cell (especially perfect cell) had some of the best lines in the entire abridged but vegeta was also fantastic.

He didn’t make them human, Shenron said he couldn’t fulfill that wish, that is why Krillin settled for just removing the bombs then. So they are both still fully cybernetic. If you go back a few episodes where Bulma and Dr. Briefs are looking through their schematics, he says “Baby maker is still in tact though” about Android 18 (since they are cyborgs, that were originally human).
Also with Super, Akira Toriyama has said that he hated the existence of “power levels” since it meant the one with the bigger number is stronger. So in super her tried to remove things like that, putting people on a more balanced level, allowing people like Master Roshi to be able to fight at higher tier levels. That way it’s not just power, it’s also skill. Thus people who could have never fought at Goku’s level in Super, like Android 17, found themselves able too, since Toriyama consciously leveled the playing field.
Shenran's limitations is dumb writing in my opinion
Fun fact... Every time a new child is conceived DBZA gives it a moment... Trunks is conceived with a galic gun explosion, Goten is conceived with a kamehameha, and Marian (maron?) is conceived at the end of DBZA with a scatter-shot.
SAO Abridged and Hellsing Ultimate Abridged are just as good as this so I hope y'all check them out at some point...

Holy shit DO NOT listen to these guys! SAO abridged is by far the worst writing and acting there is out there. Beyond edgy teenage humor, even Blind Wave were not big fans of it. You can literally see them cringing trying to watch it. I'll never understand how some people's sense of humor can be so out of touch and liking SAO abridged.

I have said it for as long as the show was on Toonami. Krilling won the wife game.
a handful of people when this came out had been vocal about Curtis "Takahata101" Arnott's cover of My Way going on way too long in the finale.
Scott "Kaiserneko" Frerichs responded to this by uploading the full cover of it on TH-cam out of spite.
ultimately, this finale, as well as this season as a whole, to TFS is considered a Love Letter to DragonBall. while the series is overall more humorous than serious, Season 3 had various moments that were meant to be serious, that were meant to be dramatic. as their way of saying "we like to make jokes and pick on DragonBall, but we still love it. it meant so much to us, and this is our way of showing it." the homage to the original transformation scene, the Linkin Park References as a tribute to the countless DBZ AMVs that became it's own little time capsule, the Cell Jrs being named after the Voice Actors for Cell (excluding Vegeta Jr Jr), Goku being more serious, it was a large part of their way of showing that they love DragonBall.
and even though the Abridged series is concluded, i personally think it's for the best. it's hard to see something you love come to it's conclusion. but it's harder to see it become something that can't conclude.
Tbh, this is the one moment where I prefer the filler riden original dub over any other version because every z fighter gets to contribute and attack cell before getting blown away and vegeta getting the final assist.
With the Gohan vs Cell fight, TFS actually tried to stay more true to the source material.
In the manga, Vegeta was the only one who helped, and that was how Toriyama wanted it. A brief but significant act of redemption that would be greatly devalued if everyone else was jumping in to help.
That never happened in the manga

Reference? Not exactly sure what you mean by that, but the montage during “My Way” was Cell’s ENTIRE LIFE.
17 was killed by cell. They wished back everyone killed by cell, so 17 came back. Some people might argue that he didnt "die" on earth, but it could be said that he had already been fully digested by cell and therefore was fully dead, unlike 18 who was still in the proccess which is why she could be saved.

that was a reference to future/alternate timeline gohan, not bardock.
