Points on Opuntia: The Eastern Prickly Pear, Pennsylvania's Native Cactus

With summer in full swing, there are still exciting things to see at Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve. Today's native plant highlight may seem out of place here in eastern PA, but it is entirely home in our sandy, well-drained, soils. To make it even more enticing, it is edible!

Great video, very informative. I believe I was gifted a prickly pear. I hadn't realized it was native to Pennsylvania.
I definitely agree about the fiber glass comment.
