Snowfall at the Preserve

This footage was captured by Ryan Mancuso (www.ryanmancuso.com/) Sometimes visitors will ask us, “There must not be much to see in winter, right?" While it's true that the blooms sleep for the season, this is a serene and beautiful time to visit the Preserve. Our native plants don't disappear during the cold months; they simply change in appearance. Walking the trails in the quiet winter, everg...

I am a lover of Cup plant personally
Thanks Santino! Love these delicate little pink beauties. Do you have the wild berries which I've heard by the name of "wine berries?" On a walk yesterday, I tasted for the first time and they were really good!
unclear of your location
I love your videos! There always informative and fun. 😊
Another good informative video, Santino!
Thanks for promoting native host plants!! Homegrown national park w Doug Tallamy
Loved the vid but I was looking for sun/shade, soil, watering too.
I want one so badly
I usually find sassafras on sandy ridges cohabitating with American Chestnut and Chestnut Oak.
Very interesting 👌
Pretty pink blossoms❣️
very interesting - well done
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video! Very interesting plant!
Thanks so much!
We really enjoyed this new video with Great photos too!
So glad you enjoyed it!
Does it fix oxygen? Does it absorb large amounts of carbon?
Watersheds are pretty neat.
Please support this lovely place!
😊😊
Thanks ❤
Great video, very informative. I believe I was gifted a prickly pear. I hadn't realized it was native to Pennsylvania. I definitely agree about the fiber glass comment.
great video, thanks. one of the better Wild Senna videos on youtube
Wow, thanks! I appreciate the feedback.
so is the american hazelnut self fertile? or does it need a group of bushes
That's terrible to hear :(
Is Pycnanthemum pilosum a good variety?
Middle Tennessee here. How do I get a blight resistant sapling?
Great clip. Also working hard to reestablish the footprint of the chestnut
CUTE. and one of my faves <3
The plants are beautiful in winter. The birds also find it a good plant for food.
I have 12 native asters in my garden. They are my favorite flowing plant. Can’t get enough of them.
thanks!!!!!!
... save the rainwater for thee growing plants ... if it's legal ...
Moved from Lower Bucks to Florida. So miss the beauty of fresh falling snow.
that was a cool shot of that bee coming out! wow that color spectrum explanation was amazing!!
☮
Winter is one of my favorite times to walk around the museum. :D
Nice video! What is the fertilizer you're giving it, and what is the mulch on top?
@@hippycertified And what is the fertilizer placed in the pot just before adding the rice hulls?
What a great way to show the beauty of the Preserve throughout the year!
Acetysalicylic acid is the chemical we commonly call asprin. I believe it was first taken from willow bark.
Thanks for explaining the winter berry holly. I didn't know their were deciduous hollies. I think it would be a great addition to my property in support of the birds in winter.
Winterberry is a beautiful and great option!
Thank you!
When I first saw this in the woods. I thought it was Lilly of the valley. Now I know it's not 😁

So very interesting...and I, especially, enjoy learning the native plant of witch hazel in PA. Once again, thank you!
I'm subscribed and I support! Thank YOU!! I've shared on my channel as well. Peace & Prayers.
I have been collecting plant puns for a garden ed script. Thank you for the creative tree additions. A-corny line or two always helps to break the ice! Great channel.😂
Thanks Santino, very interesting. I suffered from migraine headaches as a teen and young adult. My mother would soak a washcloth in witch hazel and place it on my forehead. Not sure what properties were at play but it helped to reduce the pain and relaxed me enough to sleep.
Great video, Santino. I'm so used to seeing witch hazel blooming very sparsely in the understory that it was a big surprise to see photos recently of it being a real show stopper, thick with blooms, apparently in full sun.
Love your humor very mulch:)
