  • I got the world record for the hardest speedrun in Plague Inc, all plagues on mega brutal difficulty. You need to play almost perfectly for a lot of these plagues to do this, so it's a really interesting run
    Some of strats I used were from other speedruns, and some were from Tatsur0's guide on Steam. Check them out here: steamcommunity.com/id/tatsur0...
    My 2nd channel (WEEKLY UPLOADS): / eaziestspeezy
    Watch live at: / eazyspeezy
    ▶ Twitter: / eazyspeezy
    ▶ Instagram: / eazyspeezy
    ▶ Merch: eazyspeezy.com
    Watch the world record speedrun here: this video
    My channel generally focuses on a more casual side of speedruns. With these videos I want to show off cool speedruns, explain how they work, and entertain. Hopefully you enjoy the content and maybe even take up speedrunning yourself, because it is truly a lot of fun!

    Plague Inc. Wiki editor and longtime community member here, thank you for giving the game a boost in exposure and popularity with this video. It’s a game with fascinating mechanics, so I’m glad you took the time to learn them through. 😊
    By the way, Severity is a trade off mechanic - humanity’s response will be stronger, but you get more DNA from popping bubbles :)

    • @toxicthereporter515
      @toxicthereporter515 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +24

      I honestly don't believe this has ever actually mattered for anyone who is playing the game at any serious level; casually - yes. You might have to contend with severity, especially if playing but otherwise? Severity has very little impact other than increasing relative cure research (basically non-existent depending on your playstyle) and affecting how fast you're discovered. It's a mechanic that only exists to punish bad play, and has no real integration with the rest of the game - past merely providing a convenient way to farm DNA (massively spike infectivity & severity when ready to get huge amounts of DNA)

    Just in case you were wondering the "manufactured memory" sounds like a psychology concept called "false memories" where if you gather enough information, your brain begins to really want to put everything together to make an actual story. It actually starts to piece together real events, imaginary details made up by the mind, and sometimes details distorted by other memories as well. These memories can actually begin to feel so real that in the past during law cases, there has actually been innocent suspects who start believing they were actually involved in the crime, resulting in false confessions.

    • @neoqwerty
      @neoqwerty 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +82

      me with that one memory that I SWEAR TO GOD I saw ending credits on Duck Hunt after clearing wave 20.
      It's impossible, and I suspect that I glitched it something fierce and somehow got garbage letter tile barf from the Mario Bros side (it was a Super Mario 1 + Duck Hunt cart) and my brain never actually read the "contents" of the credits, I was just satisfied I "beat" Duck Hunt on my birthday, even if I was cheating with the zapper right against the CRT screen to turn my gun into a hitscan weapon.
      And that's the generous explanation, I may have just hallucinated or fabricated that memory wholesale because I really fricking wanted to beat Duck Hunt.

      there is only a very thin and fuzzy line between dreams and memories. both are reflections of reality that are created by our brain, and which thus evolve over the years, with there being no way to tell "truth" from "fantasy" except communication with others. I have a cat called Puss (we did not know what to name her aha) and my mother saved her when she was less than a week old (presumably) and being beaten by teens, it was a miracle she survived. I was 10 months old when it happened so logically have no recollection, but I remember it- and I can only word it how you worded your own experience! She's 15 now, but not slowing down at all! She was spayed at 7, and they accidentally found out she had a severe hernia when spaying her- it saved her life by chance as she presumably would only have about a week left if unchecked, the poor thing's a fighter- she never changed how she act, we never would have known!
    I hope your dog Lucky is well, and if they have passed on, I know the sweet little thing had a great owner, you seemed extremely fond in your anecdote!

    I studpied criminology in college, and it had a lot of overlaps with sociology. One of the topics we learnt were how unreliable witness testomonies can be due to how easily manipulated they can be. Not even maliciously, but due to an officer saying one thing, or presenting suspect portraits too early, it has the power to totally flip the memories around and instill fake ones. It's a really interesting!

    The Planet of the Apes trilogy, in my opinion, is actually one of the best movie trilogies out there. It's not without its flaws, but every entry is a super solid movie in its own right and unlike other trilogies that are notorious for DRASTICALLY dropping off in quality in the later installments, this one holds strong until the end, with an emotional finale if you've watched from the start. As examples of other trilogies that I think handle themselves extremely well I'd list the Hunger Games and How to Train Your Dragon trilogies, with Maze Runner being pretty dang solid overall though with a few more blatant flaws than the others. Long story short, if the premise interests you, I definitely would encourage giving PotA a watch :)

    Actually, the topic you shared about the "manufactured memories" is truly fascinating! Your personal story, though 'fake' memory, really got me thinking. It's incredible how our memories can be shaped and influenced, especially at such a young age.
    Just a while ago, a friend and I were reminiscing about a trip we took, and through our conversation, some details seemed to get embellished or altered. It made me realize how susceptible our memories are to suggestion, not only in childhood but also in adulthood.
    I wonder how often this happens in various aspects of our lives. It's intriguing to consider the malleability of our recollections.

He saw fruit and got it... found out it was seafood. Guess what my baby ass self decided to do? I ate all of it. So if you get a random mutation that you dont like, you can get rid of it. (He does this during the simian flu.) Also, madagascar and greenland were always the worst for me
    I had a good strategy that when id get any symptoms, you can delete them for DNA to use somewhere else, and id put it all into infection. Then once everyone was infected, id take all the DNA back and put it all into symptoms to just watch everyone die hahaha

    A strategy that I found out while using prion is to go all out on the random mutations.
    If you develop a lethal mutation too early you can just undeveloped it by using DNA. Focus on water transmission and temperature resistance to be as infective as possible in places like Greenland. Once you hit all those countries though. Dump everything into lethality. Get combinations of mutations that make your plague even more lethal.
    Once people start dying, focus the funds on research resistance. From there, you just watch and save up points while your plague just keeps mutating.
    Definitely my favorite plague type by far.

    I think 5 or so years ago, I was finally able to 5/5 every disease on Mega Brutal, with the exception of the Simian Flu. Forgetting how annoying it was, I tried to do all this without using walkthroughs/guides of any form. But, Fungus was by far the hardest one out of all the diseases and took me an uncountable amount of tries of constantly optimising and trying to figure out the best timing for every symptom and upgrade, and so on. You have to be so awfully pinpoint and careful with fungus it’s beyond frustrating.

    This video was pretty satisfying because a lot of the tactics you were using were the same ones I figured out when I first played the game, like Saudi Arabia being a really good starting spot, going for birds, water, and air travel first, though admittedly I fumbled a bit because I was a kid and dumbly lost to Greenland often because I didn't really get the temperature resistance thresholds >->
