- Today I got the world record for PvZ2's hardest speedrun, All Linear Worlds. This is when you beat all 312 levels of the game's 11 worlds in order, on the most update version of the game. This is truly an exhuasting speedrun

Well, I can think of a competitor: the world ending because of a hungry giant spaghetti monster, then you trying to feed it to calm it but failing, and then traveling back in time to start a gastronomic career in order to feed it properly before the apocalypse happens.

I'm not sure if they patched it yet but on the levels where zombies can't trample the flowers you can easily cheese these levels if the flowers are on a tile, just plant a spikeweeds over the flowers and you won't get a game over if the zombies walk over them. Remember the flowers must be on a tile (12:25 for example) if they are between tiles the trick won't work.

Awful new plant animations
New plants are also geared heavily towards the fake pvp and you can tell by most of them that popcap is running out of ideas and are just slapping anything on them.
Music is straight up buggy and doesn't even play most of the time(They also removed most of the music as well)
Pvz2 nowadays is a shell of its former self that's very obviously now a lootbox game rather than a regular adventure game

The plot line:

In the levels that has “don’t have the zombies trample the flowers” there is a cheese (unless it was patched) where you plant a spike weed on the flower tile and the game doesn’t count that as zombies stepping on the flowers

it only works if the flowers are in the middle of a tile, not between 2 tiles
Not all of them but yeah only a few where the flowers are in the middle of the column instead of in between the columns.

0:21 Fun fact: this level introdouces the seed lock gimmick which probhits planting a certain seed packet for an amount of time(or until a certain condition is done) but the seed gets instantly refreshed after its lock stops.
There, this example showcase is that the Peashooter seed is locked until planting a Sunflower. During that time, basics don’t spawn.
1:16:18 if you place any Spike plant on top of flowers, it will not count as a game over if a zombie walks over them
This makes flowers levels way easier especially since very few zombies can kill spikes
I haven't played PvZ2 in a while... but I'm pretty sure Sun-shroom is just always strictly better than Sunflower because it pays itself off with the first sun it generates (like the Sunflower) and then immediately grows to its 2nd stage which gives you 50 per sun, (same as the regular Sunflower) and then later gives you 75 sun per. (which is just better and it is also cheaper initially)

@@skyking469 If the zombies pop off right in the 4th or 5th lane every wave, then primal is better, but if your sun production lane remains untouched sunshroom is better. E.g. when you have those swashbucklers from PS, Lost Pilot from LC, Imps from FF, primal acts as a good shield and doesn't just die instantly

@@skyking469 Primal Sun and Shroom have hte same HP. Shroom costs less so even as a meat shield Shroom is better due to being cheaper. Primal is slightly better for raw production, but for those of us that try to get non-producers on thefield as soon as possible, Shroom just barely beats it if you have enough Sun Start upgrades. Starting with 100 Sun, you can plant a single Sun-shroom and then several simple offensive plants can immediately begin being deployed because you already have enough sun or are about to when shroom refunds you.

im glad someone finally agrees with me about lightning reed. its nearly OP especially in dark ages and ancient egypt cause of the graves but the downside in dark ages is its sun cost without sun falling from the sky. anyway, now that ive said all that, great job on speedrunning pvz 2
Have you tried Lightning Reed + High Sun production + Tile Turnip + Power Lily + Imitated Power Lily strat?? I have tried this strat for many levels in Reflourished but not in vanilla since I never crossed PS in it

12:20 day 23 in pirate seas and a few other “don’t let the zombies trample the flowers” levels can be cheeses since the flowers are in the middle of a column a spikeweed can be placed on top of the flowers and if a zombie walks over it it won’t count as the flower being trampled.
It is crazy how the hardest run in pvz2 is playing it in the newest update
I've beaten this game fully so many times over. Every few years i get the nostalgic desire to do it again. It always takes me at least a week though.
I'm up to the wild west segment of the video, so I don't know if you figure this out later on, but as a fun fact if you ever decide to play through PVZ2 again for any reason-
Zomboss's dashes specifically can be interrupted! His little leg needle strikes at the frontlanes can't really be stopped, but the dash can be halted INSTANTLY by a plant food! It even stuns him for a moment! In stages like the ancient egypt one, where you have plants that are way more advantageous damaging wise up front (bonk choy), using your plant food on them as he's about to dash down their lane will only allow him to destroy plants up to that plant's column, which, if they're at the very front, is none at all. It's a great way to get more damage out of him from a plant food because he's going to sit there for a good while longer while the plants deal the full brunt of their food (if it's like a continuous damage one like bonk choy that is, the time where a plant has that little glow around it is the time where they're invincible and can't take any damage from anything, including zomboss, so if the plant has a very short window of invincibility, it's going to be harder to halt his dash with it, though i'm pretty sure most plants have a long enough window that it works if you use it as he starts moving forward)

@@Slimey_alien89 An all treasures speedrun dictates that you get all treasures, in all chapters, all 432 of them. This would be alright, if not for the fact that cats of the cosmos takes months to start seriously progressing in. You would have to do that, in a speedrun??? It's not like you can speedrun something over the course of half a year. That's called a relatively quick playthrough
Imagine how much more complex this would be if it was on a version with the world keys

Fun fact: if the trample flowers are in the middle of a single tile and not between two different ones, you can plant a spikeweed or a spikerock on them so that zombies can walk through without trampling the flowers

I just remembered something. This could have saved so much time in every world. You can send the mowers out on command, by holding down on them. That would have saved so much time

I’m not sure if you know this (or if you’ll even see this) but rotobagas can actually be placed over water tiles in big wave beach without needing a lily pad since they float. Ghost peppers can also do this

1:05:18 Was genuinely expecting this to be a huge choke point for speedruns considering the level of infamy this level has within the PvZ 2 community, especially after Wolfy struggled on it for countless hours 2 years ago, I always thought it was pure luck (though he did try to fully avoid using powerups so that was a huge factor in its difficulty), even when I beat the game 100% 2 years ago

You might not see this comment, but I discovered a glitch on how to save the diamonds or sunflower power thing from zen garden. When it gives you the diamonds, you need to leave the game. Try to enter a world before it recontinues the tutorial. It will save the diamonds or power up and will skip the tutorial for Zen garden. This might be patched already because I found this glitch about 3 years ago

Important note : if zomboss is about to rush on the plants, you can use plant food ability to cancel that.. Which is much more effective in keeping plants alive and winning the level easily with just enough damage :)

Didn't expected to see a pvz2 speedrun, it's a great game with a great concept, but with too much op plants that you have to pay for to get them, there are some events where you can get some premium plants, but they are okey. Anyway, good video 💯
i remember when if you came to a certan level in egypt you would get a pack of 10 keys, and where is the "match the camels to kill them" level
