I can't be the only one who remembers the "paperclip generator" game from a couple years back, right? I mean, before THIS video showed its very obvious parallels to coronavirus response, that was the first thing I thought of. It was a game I heard about on some message board a couple years back and it seems completely identical to this one. You clicked on your mouse repeatedly to produce paperclips, which you could do at an exponential rate the more you did it, and it also got into some really bizarre, reality-warping lore. I myself never wound up playing it for more than a couple days worth of time, but it was pretty much the exact same setup as this. In fact now I think about it, I suppose it's likely there were other version after the paperclip one and before this cookie one.

I remember in grade 5 everyone was obsessed with this game to the point where friendships were broken because people had less cookies. It was crazy. I gave up as soon as I got the first "you make me sick-Grandma" because I immediately got deeply unsettled, and slowly realized how messed up some of the headlines were.
I think games like these are so pointless. In other games like subway surfers, at least you're actually doing something instead of just mindlessly clicking the screen, waiting for the next upgrade.
This is basically a in-depth critique documentary at how dangerous a pure unregulated capitalist system is, disguised as a review for a mindless clicker game. ...then again the similarities are too obvious to ignore, so I can't really blame him.
Honestly when you disregard the "haha funni cookiez" part this game becomes a pretty good metaphor for how capitalism has warped our society into something that thrives off of pieces of paper that would normally be worthless. Except instead of paper it's cookies.
At the start of this video, I was laughing my ass off about how absurd this game is. By the end of the video, I'm legitimately perturbed by how absurd the whole world is.

This is not a shorcut you're taking its a whole teleporter to deduce that since people need oil, oil companies will work towards whats best for the people. Same for banks, the fact you can put your money there isnt exactly the whole money making scheme. Most of their practices are not beneficial to most people. The thing that brings me back to cookie clicker so many times as opposed to other idle games is that it has all this crazy stuff going on in the background that builds very slowly until eventually you start to notice your grandmas are turning into demons and you've made portals to some hell dimmension. At the end of the day it IS just an idle game, but it has a lot of charm and care put into it and i love that.

I remember in grade 5 everyone was obsessed with this game to the point where friendships were broken because people had less cookies. It was crazy. I gave up as soon as I got the first "you make me sick-Grandma" because I immediately got deeply unsettled, and slowly realized how messed up some of the headlines were.

Same for banks, the fact you can put your money there isnt exactly the whole money making scheme. Most of their practices are not beneficial to most people. Sure some rich people benefit from it when investing but even them are getting fcked by the banks.

The thing that brings me back to cookie clicker so many times as opposed to other idle games is that it has all this crazy stuff going on in the background that builds very slowly until eventually you start to notice your grandmas are turning into demons and you've made portals to some hell dimmension. At the end of the day it IS just an idle game, but it has a lot of charm and care put into it and i love that.

I remember back in high school, everyone in my class would always have cookie clicker on in the background when at the library computers. Little did we know it was actually a cosmic horror story about the evils of hypercapitalism.
and after that you have to plug the red wire into the socket to make sure the engine boots at launch. Wrap the green wire around it's coil that sits directly beside the A button. After you put the back shell on, place the battery in the slot. Screw the Vr26 Jeeper back up and press the reset button. If everything worked according to plan you're device should show a thumbs up sprite. Plug the HDMI port into a monitor and wait three seconds. If it boots up on TV your in the good side. If it doesn't boot in less then 5 seconds quickly unplug. This can severely damage your TV and possibly start a fire
Technically just late stage capitalism, all idle games end that way where the upgrades just scale up with your wealth and nothing new can be achieved

Don't even copy your data. Re-obtain your data fresh from the internet through your next computer. Photos? I hope you had them photo printed from your camera; before it touched your old computer via usb. Otherwise you'll have to pass your photo data through the servers of the temple of Kosher before they can be reinstalled on your new computer; then recycle your camera in the same furnace. Do this for any data you can't obtain from the internet through servers that didn't touch signals from your old computer.
