    Good job mate!

      G'day mate thanks for watching. I was actually surprised that I got it in so easy. Glad it's done now though.

      Thanks mate. I'm just about to do them again lol. They are a great bike. You'll have heaps of fun when you eventually get out riding.

    I've got about the same number of miles on my 2016 DR. Now you've got me wondering if I should take mine apart and have a look. At least now I know how! Thanks for showing us. These bikes can last a long time. My dad just bought a 2012 model with 45,000 miles (about 60,000 km I think) and it's still in good shape.

      Keep em serviced and they will last forever. I've heard that the headstock bearings don't come with much grease either.

      I don't know if you ever look at the drriders.com forum but someone posted there last week a picture of the front wheel bearings on his 2019 and they were bone dry. No grease at all. Must be some good bearings.

    Great video mate, thanks for taking the time and making the effort to show us the swing arm greasing process, makes life easier to watch someone else do it first. I have a 2016 DR650 with 6k on it and I'm wondering what the grease might be like after seeing non in yours and I've done many water crossings in my local area in Cairns. So cheers Bro, I'm onto it.

    You're excelling with your videos and im glad you have missed out the mundain parts other tubers put on.
    I've got a couple of road bikes in my garage and I keep wondering if I should sell one for a DR but seeing how they are put together I'm wonder if they are worth the money or hype.

      Trust me. I make it look harder than it is. Very easy bike to work on. Even for a novice like me.

      @@4x4EastCoast It's the lack of build quality that gets me.
      I understand they are easy to look after once old but seams crazy when not so old. Keep up the good work. Be seeing you.

    Do you have to remove the tire to do this?

    • @4x4EastCoast

      Yeah the wheel needs to be removed.

    The main swingarm bolt doesn't need to be greased.

    • @4x4EastCoast
      @4x4EastCoast  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah probably not. Grease is cheap and in my head it's a good idea to repel water and prevent rust.

  • @Egg1456

    you really should have put that marine grease on all of those moving parts. Also you do not understand how to properly use a torque wrench apparently. Keep at it one day you'll get there.

    • @4x4EastCoast
      @4x4EastCoast  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alwys love to hear an experts opinion mate. Enlighten me on how I used the torque wrench the wrong way.

      @@Egg1456 Yeah I remember when I did this vid I didn't actually hear It click when I torqued up the swingarm bolt. You will notice all the other bolts that I torqued up only had one click. Thanks for watching.

      Good video. You didn’t grease the linkage bearings which I thought was half the point. No worries, you know how to take it apart now.
