    Mesh Boolean node is very heavy, and should be used sparingly. For a custom shape with density control, build the geometry node tree on the custom mesh shape you want to work with. Use the following nodes:
    Group Input (Geometry) > Mesh to Volume > Distribute Points In Volume (set to Grid) > Geometry Proximity (set to Points, Distance output) > Math (Less Than)
    If you multiply that result with the Voronoi's distance output (using Math (Multiply)), you can plug that multiplied value into the Volume Cube's density input. Basically, you are controlling the density of the cube by referencing both the Voronoi and a reference geometry. You can use the spacing controls on the Distribute Points In Volume OR the setting for the Less Than node OR both to dial in the precision of the shape (although be very careful with the spacing settings because setting that very low increases the cost of the operation and can crash Blender; try something around 0.100 for spacing).
    To make sure your whole geometry fits into the volume cube so you aren't cutting off any of your custom mesh shape, you can use:
    Group Input (Geometry) > Bounding Box > Volume Cube (where you plug the min and max from the bounding box into the min and max of your volume cube)

    Can you do a longer vid showing how u created the thumbnail/ intro for this vid..
    the text on floor and side info along with camera movement?

    • @ClickbaitScience
      @ClickbaitScience  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Yes I have it on my to do list! After the subject is created, it is mostly just playing with lighting, materials and camera until it 'looks good'. I'll definitely do one vid where I show full process once because other people have asked and then its mostly the same every time.

      @@ClickbaitScience Thank you for answering! It would be awesome if you could make a tutorial on how to create a simple columnar epithelium 3D model using Geometry Nodes, please. :)

    there is a mesh to volume node in geonodes, so you do not have to use boolean for it

    • @ClickbaitScience
      @ClickbaitScience  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately this does not work because that node has no density control. So you cannot control it with the voronoi texture. @ryomizutagraphics found a workaround however in his video "Make ANYTHING porous in Blender", its quite technical.

    thank you, it finally helped me to start learning GeoNodes) can you please advice on how to change density of our volume depending on coordinates? in your example of the leaf structure, spongy layer is denser on the top - is it just an interplay of min and max in Volume node? it seems that those values allow only for abrupt changes? or are they just two layers with different density one on top of another?

    • @ClickbaitScience
      @ClickbaitScience  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, you guessed right! It is just two layers with different density, some playing around so the transition is not so obvious.
