I had the 1983 or 1984 model for 20 years and loved it. I lost the watch and have been missing it since 2004. I considered buying a used one, but didn’t really want an old watch. Then this came and I’m happy again. Love it :)
@@FrederiksbergFestspil hey Freddy thanks and welcome to the channel 😎👍 yup they nailed the colours on these and I think they might release a closer replica soon 😜
That dial is superb! I think this is Pogue inspired but not a Pogue as such. That being said its a gorgeous watch and seems like a solid piece! Thanks for sharing man!
Attractive looking watch! Love the colours, build quality & the brand. Not to sure about the bracelet though. Stainless steel looks robust & nicely polished. Definitely an all day wearer & also most probably for a night out as well. £600 sounds a lot for this watch but money very well spent once it’s on your wrist! 👍🏻
You are correct. A lot of people are complaining it's not a real Pogue but nowhere in Seiko's marketing will you find them claiming that it is. I blame TH-cam creators for creating this misunderstanding. They've just released a famous dial colour. Whilst I was in my local dealer buying mine, the Seiko rep was there and he told me this watch has been a massive hit worldwide. We all know that Seiko do great dials but this is on another level. I find it hard to take my eyes off it. PS I suggested to him that Seiko should release a proper Pogue reissue like they did with the 5 sports 55th anniversary. It doesn't have to be automatic, because the original didn't have running seconds, and the sweeping chronograph hand could be taken care of with a meca quartz. Hopefully he'll mention it back at the office 😎
@@AndySmith4501 hey Andy thanks bud and welcome to the channel 👍😎 yup agreed on all counts although i reckon if they did release a pogue reinterpretation it'd cost 1500... 😅

I just happing to be shopping around for a mechanical chronograph, don’t have one in my collection. Boy were the good mechanical Chronographs pricey. So I narrowed it down to Bulova Pilot Watch and Seiko new Chronograph with the “Pogue” colors. I really like the colors on the dial for the new Solar chronograph, so I was able to get one from Japan. Cheaper than if I bought it in the USA. I agree if this was a true “Pogue” watch it would be a mechanical version with day and date on the dial.
Funny you should mention the date window, i have a Citizen Avion and didn't realise it actually had a date until i had owned it for 6 months, Great review, colour scheme not for me but love the speedy ❤
I mean it’s a Pogue color way, so I can see why some people would call it that or make a reference to it as a Pogue. It’s common around brand names to refer to something based on its looks or whatever, since it’s what we’re reminded of.
@@thetimebombardier Ah, I see! Thanks, by the way! I only recently discovered this thing and I really want one. I have one - a silly watch but fun. Agree on the date window. Why do watch reviewers mention the fact that the crown is unsigned? What difference does that make? I don't even look at a crown on a watch - I have some chinese watches with signed crowns - it doesn't make them worth more. Anyway, solar power and sapphire crystal for £540 was pretty good as far as I'm concerned.
@@garyshepherd9226 hey Gary thanks bud, how does the golden colour grab you? I liked signed crowns and many modders add them to seiko mods, some just look good but yes they don't any intrinsic value just fun factor I guess 😎👍

Its a gorgeous watch. The colours and detail are fantastic and the lume keeps on all night until morning.
