  • My POGUE (SEIKO 6139-6002) taught me a valuable lesson. A lesson about aftermarket parts, but also that you can enjoy a watch even after finding out that it is not as original down to the last piece as one possibly (and foolishly) expected it to be after doing some superficial research. With SEIKO watches, the devil can be within the details. Nonetheless, I think it is very important to make an informed purchase, as we watch enthusiasts cannot expect to be handed the information bit from each and every dealer online nowadays, even if I wished it to be like that. Some even hide the truth on purpose, but many of these SEIKO 6139 watches were not babied but used as proper tool watches. Therefore, the spotless ones online are either real rare birds that come at a premium or someone helped a little with some aftermarket parts.
In this video, I will show you on my own POGUE, how and where you can spot the aftermarket pieces after I’ve already shown you in my other (first) video of the SEIKO 6139 Pogue, why it is such a historical and relevant timepiece!
