I have an original Pogue!!! My dad brought from a business trip to El Salvador, I was in 5th grade. Man, the stories I have with my watch which still looks extremely cool, runs pretty well and use it daily. It is really a surprise that it was sufficiently famous to make a new edition
I owned the blue dial version back in the day (early 70's) and wore it for years until the hands fell off. Sold that recently but have always been interested in the yellow version. This one works for me and I'm glad it has the solar movement over the old automatic. This is simply a better watch.
@@FPV_sk8 the full charge signal at the 6 o’clock dial is at the 46 minute mark and not at the 45 minute mark if that’s your question. You can just put it in chronograph mode and then the hand is at the 12 o’clock mark.

I generally like the style of stuff from the 1960’s and 70’s, so this was right up my alley. I bought one in Japan last month and have been very happy with it. I have even had people ask if it was a vintage watch, so the color combo definitely has 1970’s vibes.
It’s a nice watch, but I don’t’ understand why they wouldn’t use the case from the SRPK17, which is nearly identical to the original. They could have added gold subdial and it would have been identical homage. I do understand the reasoning with the reliability of the solar movement…
I didn’t know anything about the original Pogue, but after reading about this new imagining I knew I had to have it. Learning about the history increased my appreciation. Bought it online as soon as it was available and love it.
I own a SSC911 (silver dial), and it's a great daily driver that punches well above its price in terms of aesthetics and wearability. If you like this color scheme, buy it.
Really like this watch and have recently (two days ago) purchased while on a business trip to the USA. Was surprised that this watch is already being discounted by Seiko retailers by 20%. Meaning I saved £200(UK) on RRP back home in the UK and I love it. Really enjoying the videos especially recent CIA/Panerai Thank you
I have one of these A friend purchased it for me from Seiko Dreams in Ginza Not only has it come from the home of Seiko, it was £150 cheaper than the UK rrp which is £600. £450 is a very satisfying price for this watch. A massive result especially that the Seiko boutique in London had sold all it's first allocated shipment before it was released. I absolutely love this timepiece
Great review Teddy! Purchased the watch a few weeks back and I’m loving it. The yellow pops and has already been a conversation piece with several friends.
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the AMZWATCH, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
Great review, I have had one of these for a month now, I really wanted Seiko to make an updated version of the Poque so when they released this it was a no brainer, now that I have one I have to say I really do love this watch, it looks fantastic, nice weight to it too
I think the comparisons to the original apogee are meaningless. It’s not a re-issue, and never claimed to be. What I see is a lovely watch in a stunning colour way with excellent tech specs… and I want to own one. Trying to find one to purchase as we speak!

My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from MAMACOO
Teddy, Great video (as always). As an owner of a non-Pogue 6139, the new Speedtimer captures the essence in a much easier to wear piece. My 6139 runs beautifully but has a 1970s power reserve which means
They should also make an automatic version, its an amazing color combo. I wore the original one for a bit, it's so nice on the wrist. Of course it was a refurbished one, with new dial and bezel.
I was SO looking forward to this, but 21mm? Pin and collar? Bottomless pit date? 24h subdial? One micro adjust?? Way too many minuses for me. Great show, regardless!
the date window is not only cheap looking for this price range, in the closeup shots it is machined so inconsistently in the corners and sides making it look like a rounded square often found in $50 aliexpress homages. Its not like they cant do it, they're just being lazy with th design. look at the $100 SNSX models with a much more refined date window.
Classy integration of old and new, functional and stylish. Turtle-esque case of old Pogue is dated and bulky. Curators may gripe but the new release is a great watch. Lotsa people like old cars but not to drive everyday.

Yes, @GinkoJoe is right, a bunch of minuses but not one of my watches is perfect. This one is great fun to wear and gets more comments than a lot of my "better" watches. Recommended!
It is unique and stands out in a sea of black and white dials. I had the white speedtimer, great quality and felt substantial on my wrist. Unfortunately legibility with all the white wasn’t great. This new one solves that.
Pogue’s Seiko was a 6005 (North America ), not a 6002. I’m still wearing my 6139-6005, Dec. 1975 for the past 48 years. Purchased at Macy’s for $145 USD. Still all original dial and lume with no water damage.

Thank you, Teddy, for featuring this watch. I have been looking for a sunburst yellow dial for quite sometime and this is just what I am looking for. The only thing I will do, when I purchase this watch, is replace the bracelet with a navy blue leather rally strap which, in my opinion, gives this watch an additional bit of sportiness.
What an impressive number of useful complications in one beautiful watch for under $1,000!
