Hope you enjoyed the video. I’m not a documentarian. I just filmed a small town through my eyes. A lot of people have visited this town and since I’m in Alaska, I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to visit this town as well. Thanks for your continued support. It means the world to me.
Absolutely and they try to say there is no God so who created this beautiful scenery in America??? Did it make itself? Yeah right that’s hard to believe

You have no idea how much you helped me see the world because I don't have the money to travel , you are my eyes and ears through the world I am 24 years old and I'm all the way in Chicago. Wishing you best of luck and to be safe please ♥️🥺

The Whittier tunnel was built by the military and finished in the 1940s. During the Cold War, it was meant to be a base of operations in the event of a nuclear attack. The military had special high tech training cars built just for that purpose. I remember, in the early 90s, I read an article about the military trying to sell the train cars because nuclear treat was diminished. Another fun fact, Portage was an actual town on the highway side of the mountains. It was destroyed in the earthquake of 1964.
Welcome to Alaska! I am long time resident of Anchorage and Palmer and have a Newmar Baystar and have been camping and RVing since the 70’s. Your introduction to Whittier is very suited for this amazing town.
Brings back memories of my time stationed in Alaska when I served in the Army ❤ I am now 70 so it was a long time ago 😂 Thank you for sharing your travels makes me smile a lot ❤
Whittier A hub / jumping off point during the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill 1989 response. Begich is pronounced "bay gitch". Reindeer are domestic caribou. Antlers have velvet on them, male and female have antlers.
Bro I saw a documentary about that town! A old couple are like the superintendents, they own their apartment in there. The WHOLE TOWN is in one building. This was amazing!! I wrote this before watching it. I'm hype.
It’s def more white people here. Growing up I barely had any black role models 😩 When I’d have a black doctor it was like a unicorn. Still kinda the same really but since we have so many people moving here “to start a new life” and soldiers with their families, we are getting more diverse.

Worked and lived there for a summer deckhanding on a charter boat. Ill tell u now, its beautiful. U missed a lot of amazing spots. By the tunnel on whittier side is a road that leads to a trail up a mountain. As well as old bomb shelters. If theres hikers out there, goto whittiers horsetail falls trail or portage pass. Its mind blowing.
I was in anchorage 2 weeks ago and I could not believe my eyes driving on that highway. Alaska is so beautiful. I tried to go to whitter but I got nervous about the tunnel lol.

I took the Alaska Marine (Highway) ferry from Bellingham WA to Juneau then got onto another ferry from Juneau to Whittier. I got off the ferry with my truck then drove home to Anchorage. It was an awesome experience!
That deer was in what they call velvet. They shed their antlers every year. Thats how the new ones come in and the deer rub them on trees or whatever to get the velvet off.❤
Nomi , I'm so glad you're exploring this. I heard about this town years ago where everyone lives and thrives under one roof. Thank you for sharing. So excited!! 🧡🌺

We went to some of the same places you did, but never did get to see inside Begich Towers. Thanks for sharing that with us.
