Conferences and networking events are coming back in full swing, which means it's time to order a new stack of business cards - well, instead of that, how about you only have one card that includes all of your contact information and can even have links to your social accounts or portfolio?
With NFC Tags you're able to set them up easily and cheaply and without the need to spend copious amounts on cards you're going to hand out or lose anyway.
They are available in a number of different shapes, sizes and even colours. In the video, John is using a white plastic card like this: amzn.to/3xVRY30 but you can also get keychains, stickers or other form factors cheaply on Amazon or your favourite online seller.

You can but it requires a special printer. Most print shops can handle it for a couple bucks

You can purchase the tags in a variety of different shapes, colours, and sizes or you can customise your own with stickers and whatnot. Covering the tag with a sticker won't impede its ability to be read
Can you put your name number and info in so that it will automatically save as a contact under the clients phone?
I use it with a link tree link where I have all my info and from there they can save contact info on their phone

If you need an extra app on iphone, it is not so smart.
Is there a way to link it to your business? So that all employees have it linked to a profile the company creates (vs the employee going through the App Store to set up). Example: employee gets card. Opens their profile on company website. Hyperlinks social media, email etc. and then the cars automatically goes to this profile.

Yes, of course you can do this! Since they accept any URL, the sky is the limit on what you can do with these.
Just setup a page for each employee, then give them a card that points to their individual page.
You can even setup automation tools that automatically create the page for new hires, or gives them a login so they can customize their own pages. It's really fascinating if you have the time to tinker.

After I edit the info on the card, how do I ensure that it comes up on other peoples phones? Because unless I set up the automation myself, I haven’t been able to get any NFC tag to “open” on a phone.

If I were to print a sticker (for branding purposes) and place it on one side of the card, would it interfere with reading the card? I wouldn't think so but wanted to know if you've done that yourself.
It'll still work, NFC chips are pretty strong enough to be able to be used through fabric, so a sticker wont be a problem at all. I'm currently doing the same with no issues

Sounds like a cool idea but as far as we know you can't - you watch can read tags but it can't broadcast them. If someone knows differently we'd love to be proven wrong!
You could probably put a NFC tag on your watch band so you turn your wrist over for them to scan it.
I wrote the data onto my card but it doesn't pop up on the iPhone when I tap it. The NFC Tools app can read the data, that's it. How do I enable the pop up feature ?

Hi, when i use NFC tools i can program the card with a website, but I can use the contact option.
When click the contact mode, it behaves good with the app. But when I try to read the tag. The IPhone don’t read anything. Any sugestion?
The iPhone has a limitation of only reading the url (at this time anyway). The best way to handle this is with free web hosting or GitHub with a vCard file

yes. 13.56 Mhz. 125KHz is the frequency for RFID communication.

Can you password protect your NFC card thank you love your videos
Good question! There's nothing built within the app to allow password protection, but if you did want exclusive access, you could program the NFC card to send to a password protected site.

Where do you get the cards from?
He mentions Amazon which seems to have many options but I’m reviewing compatibility with the NFC tool mobile app to write the data. Haven’t been able to confirm which cards are compatible as of yet.

I got a nfc tag but I could see the nfc inside so I covered it with paper and got a card for free
it's easy when writing an url. But what about basic contact information ? I don't have an url or a website. I've used NFC tools as well as the exact card you are using in the video (bought from Amazon). When i write the card with contact info and no url or social media account, it doesn't work
Same thing happen to me I'm doing it right now and it ain't even reading the card. May have to pay for the pro version 🤦♂️

Not sure there's anywhere that'll do it with the generic NFC Tags that you buy on Amazon. If I were looking to get that done, I'd probably hire a designer off Fiverr to make designs to the specifications of the card, then print them out as labels
Just scanned an NFC business card from a door to door salesman. Where is it stored on my Samsung Galaxy 21? Or is it even stored anywhere, or just disappears after the initial viewing? Thanks for any help.
It depends how the NFC card is programmed. If it just brought you to a web page then it's not stored anywhere.

Sorry , but when a client is opening my website and all the tools connected to my website with my NFC card, can he download or save all that information in her smartphone as an app so she can use it later any time she needs?
Because when i bought a card before for 80€ , i could do it , and that is really cool and important.
Otherwise the client will lose all the information several minutes after scanning my nfc card.

My think is depending on where your digital destination is going. If your website then can they “save to home screen”?
In my researching this for paid monthly nfc platforms, it seems like you can have the recipient have your details saved into their contacts.
(I only recently discovered this technology and am learning best use practices).

Only if it’s unlocked some NFC apps allow you to lock the card which means it’s permanently locked so not even you can change what’s on it so bear that in mind if you do lock them.
