    Thank you very much for the videos about NFC, they helped me a lot, I work with 3d printing producing samples, and often the salespeople in my company want to know what material was used, time to print and mechanical properties, to show customers, and then I thought of putting these NFC tags inside the printed parts. I believe it will help salespeople and is a great way to make a good impression in front of the customer.

    • @minhsao

      No the QR codes that is shown in this video is not dynamic. You can use websites like I recommended in the video to create dynamic QR codes, but it will cause you a subscription fee... I made my own and I will be publishing a video on that soon... so stay tuned. As far as modification ... you can't modify information on the QR code.

Anyways to answer your questions the vcard file (VCF) in the demo is just another URL. unfortunately it will only hold one URL. however, the NFC does have contact fields, however that information is not automatically picked up by IOS. It is dependent on the phone. This demo and most of the commercial smart business cards are banking on that most people have iPhones. The default iPhone browser is Safari and it works well with safari to pull up contact etc. I am sure you can do the same with certain android phones, but some may require manual config. I do not have any android phone so I can't test it. Maybe I will get one if this channel gets big enough or if this video hits 1M views :). Good luck!

    Does the nfc function work without any internet connection on the phone??? Most of us here don’t use mobile data, so kinda hard to share info if it requires internet

    • @minhsao
      @minhsao  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes and no... so there is a way to store contact info into the NFC, but iphone doesn't pick that up automatically. That is an implementation flaw of the Apple iPhone. So to do that you will need to manually open up a NFC reader. So the short answer is NO based on this video's implementation we will need to have an internet connection to access the URL to the vcf file. But again that is why there is the second method of using the QR code, which I talked about in this video. Thanks for your question and good luck!

      @minhsao  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes that’s a great idea and yes it it totally doable!! But to do this you will use different URLs that can be linked to the same VCF. You can use a url shortener to do that and simpler look at the number of times that shorten address has been triggered. I hope this makes sense and helps.. good luck!

    Good morning, in the meantime, I congratulate you on your videos.
    I have a question: I tried to follow your instructions and it works, but instead of saving the vcf file on Dropbox, it is not possible to indicate in NCF Tools the path of the file inside the iphone?
    Let me explain better: if NCF Tools through the specified dropbox address, displays the vcf file, in the same way, if you could put the address of the vcf file (which is already inside the iphone), it should not work the same?
    But I don't know how to indicate the path of a file inside the iPhone.
    Then, I have another question:
    If we send our business card to the other person's cell phone via the Dropbox link, how does he then save it in the contacts?
    I have not succeeded.
    Thanks in advance and congratulations again for your videos.
    Roberto.

    • @minhsao
      @minhsao  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes .. it maybe possibel to get the NFT tool to point a path inside the iphone... but it was be the path inside the scanner's iphone which will not have the vcf file or the contact information. The best way is to have the NFC itself to have the contact information as part of the memory, it is possible, but IOS doesn't support auto NFC scan for this field.... good luck!

    • @robertomorzone1480
      @robertomorzone1480 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@minhsao Thanks for the reply.
      In the end I decided to get to the vcf file with a link and place the file in the datrabase of my site.
      But a strange thing happens, the iphone reads the nfc card, opens the contact and saves it in the phone.
      With Android, it doesn't ask me to save the number on my mobile, but it asks me where to download the vcf file.
      What am I doing wrong?
      I noticed that the nfc vcards that are on sale open a kind of page (it looks like a landing page), and then from there, they allow the contact to be saved on the phone using a button.
      But with android, it always asks to download the vcf file.
      In your opinion, is it complicated to build a page to which the link of the nfc points and then from there, make it so that through a button you can save the contact in the phone?
      Thanks in advance and sorry for the many questions.
      Congratulations again for what you publish.

    • @minhsao
      @minhsao  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah... so did you know that V1ce actually don't change anything in the cards. In short, they are using a URL forwarder, and when they say you can change it dynamical, it is simply changing the forwarding URL. So I can actually accomplish this by using a URL shortener and then use the Shorten URL as the link inside the NFC. Then when I want to change where it is going, I simply change the URL inside the URL shortener site and I now have a way to switch between different vcf . I hope this makes sense and helps. If there are interest I may make a video on it. Good luck!

      @@joakimus74 There are few vendors out there that provide URL shortening services… however, I did not trust them… so the only other option is to roll your own. I built one using yourls.org … I actually registered a shorten domain name and hosted yourls in docker. It works pretty well and I can control and manage my own shorten URL and do dynamic QR / NFC tags.

      It will work with iPhone, but with android it various because depending on the version of the device NFC may not be natively enabled. Unfortunately NFC reading is not a universal standard. Good luck.

      The ones that I used are NTAG215, which BTW, links are in the video descriptions. amzn.to/3CKsEwc or amzn.to/3xprQKv . But in reality since we are just storing an URL, I don't think the size really matters that much. But NTAG215 is what I had in hand and what worked in this video. Good luck!
