- A business card is an important tool for networking, building relationships, and getting new clients. In the Tech space, we rely heavily on our mobile devices as both a work and play tool. This video will show you how to create an NFC business card that can be used by others to learn more about you. You will gain a new level of control over your marketing while still using everything you have now. There are no subscriptions or 3rd party services needed; only a smart phone, an NFC Card and 1 app.

Hey There, An NFC tag is a simple data memory without any security mechanisms (other than locking memory to read-only). These tags are intended to store freely readable data in NDEF format. No authentication or protection mechanisms against reading of tag contents (or copying of tag contents to other tags) are standardized.
There are some tags that allow a short password in the form of a 32bit value. However it's passed to the tag on detection and usually done through a custom app of some sort.
Can i use this app in an iphone?

Hi Tamara, that's the great thing about NFC. On Android you can natively share information with no App required. Certain versions of iOS also do this but some require an app. You may have to check the iPhone versions.
But to answer your question. No, generally no app is required.

NFC has been in the android SDK's for many years, even the very old versions have it, however. You need to look at the devices. If the hardware of the device doesn't support NFC then the android software that it runs obviously won't have the option.
So to answer the question. Almost all versions of Android support NFC but only around 80% of Android devices have NFC Hardware
hello Bren I try to use NPX to write my digital business card but it store the information but it not tag with phone. Do I need to pay the license for NXP App ?
Hi There!,
That is very strange, No it will work without any licensing. You can also try an app called NFC Tools.
However, if it wrote successfully. It won't be a software problem. Are you trying to read the tag with an iPhone or Android? Keep in mind that iPhone reading NFC Tag's only works on certain phone and software versions.
It should always read on Android though.
So can I save the contact information to the card as well as a URL so that way when a person goes to tap the card it gives a option to save the contacts and then another option open the URL

That's a tricky one. You see you can load all these details on there but the last written item will be first in order of reading for a smart phone. The phone readers only read the first partition of the NDEF of the cards.
If anyone finds a way around this please let me know. I'll make a video on it but for now as far as I know you can only do one particular dataset at a time (either URL or Contact but not both)
Can you write multiple actions to 1 card.
Example is to load contact and create a calendar reminder?

You can write multiple records to a card but the reader (your phone) will only execute the most recent record added to the card.
However, if you use the NFC Task app on your phone - You can use that app to execute different automation functions. However, for those same functions to work on other people's phone. They would need to have the app already installed

Hey! So I get mine from a place called Netram Technologies in South Africa. They don't ship internationally but I am sure you can get them from Amazon.
You get many different colours but black pops the most and gets scratched the least.
I recommend a black NTAG216 card ✌️

How to write to nfc with picture on contact When I try it says file to large
Hey man,
Yeah you won't be able to write the picture to the contact. Pictures are too big for NFC chips.
Maybe you can use some kind of online service that hosts the contact and your direct the person's phone to that online service which contains much larger contact details such as pictures etc etc

Hi King,
Yes of course that is possible - I think the best way to do this would be to use a Linktree or a web URL which links to the handle of your Instagram account. IE
instagram.com/brenmaartens.
When the Mobile reads this link, it will automatically ask the user to open the URL in Instagram.

The nfc tag only triggers whatever you set it to do. In this case would be to add a contact detail.
As far as I know an NFC tag will not ask or draw any information from any party

Hi Sharad! The process works exactly the same for iPhone. However the very latest version of iOS is a known problem that NFC tags don't scan without having an NFC app open. Apple is still fixing that but all other versions of iPhone will work.

Hey Wayne! I wish we could make one however these cards have special wireless chips inside that allow this magic to happen. I have another video that explains how it works called The Difference between NFC and RFID 👍🏻

That would be a great idea.
You could use a simple web URL that links directly to the place you would like to review.. When they tap the card, the phone will take them to their already logged in Google Reviews Page.
Let me know if you want that card to look like a business card.

What if the nfc option is not in mobile
Hey man so you just need to check. Most new mobiles today support NFC. It is standard but some older phones or less popular phones might not include it. Please check!
So in this case where one may not have NFC in their phone, the card may be printed with a QR code with same data what is written in the NFC chip. So the QR can be scanned and the contact is shared

this is great... but... can someone explain why you need the card at all? You use an app to write to the card over nfc, then you use the card to transmit data over nfc to the recipient... can't you just do it directly?
That's a great point!
In theory there is no reason why you wouldn't be able to do this from phone to phone.
This would be a limitation of the phone manufacturers not enabling this as a default option across all operating systems to share contacts with no prerequisite apps installed.
I'm sure it's going to be the next step. !

This should work. If you're using an iPhone there is a different method to use for loading contacts onto your card. I will make a video about this soon!

Hey man. Which part don't you understand? You can get these cards on Amazon. Just look for NTAG216

@@blendermaster7686 yup! That's exactly it. Use the app I used in the video. NFC Tagwriter or NFC tools. And just tap the back of your phone and it's done. There is another video on my profile that's explains it further. It's the video called the difference between NFC and RFID

Hey man! Those will work however the NTAG203 is an older version of the NTAG213. It has less memory so you won't be able to store too much data.
Try find the same cards but with the NTAG216 chip. That's exactly what you need to use for a digital business card 👍
