  • With the new Houdini 19 comes some changes to the pyro solver and workflow. In this video I want to show some simple examples and setups for making pyro simulations.
By default in Houdini there are a couple Pyro examples for you to try. That is where the videos starts, by loading an example and taking a look at the setup of that example.
Further you will see how a simple custom example is setup. You can use any shape you want convert it to a volume and use the pyro simulation on it.

    00:19 Pre-made example
    05:55 Custom setup
    07:01 Pyro solver settings
    09:44 Axis force
    13:00 Solver tweaks

Hi - Love your videos! Can I ask about your computer setup? I don't get nearly the performance you are and I have a core i7 Alienware gaming laptop - I'm going to be building myself a desktop and want to make sure I get the right components to be able to really use Houdini simulations :)

With Houdini 19 you should by default have something that looks pretty decent like in the video
