Your instructions are wonderful! I must add that your voice is soothing. I have started watching other tutorials that were with talented artists but their voices were uncomfortable to hear. Talent plus encouraging presentations is a joy! Many thanks. 🥰
Your tip about using just a bit of pencil-marked guidance for placement purposes (both in this and in the rose tutorial) has helped immensely. I can tinker with angle, curvature, etc., until they look natural before committing with paint. I'm much more confident that I'll be happy with the final result since I've been able to visualize it in advance. Many thanks!
So, so much to learn. I realized watching this my biggest flaws…overworking in every aspect. Calm voice, solid advice and lovely paintings to the rescue.
I use your tutorials to learn new subjects. Thank you for being so careful, meticulous and accurate in your portrayals of natural subjects. I love nature and is so much fun to do these botanicals in water color!
All so lovely, Harriet. When I was young, we lived in the country, and each summer I'd pluck that little thin "thing" from the honeysuckle, sample the sweet juice that was behind it. Nice memory. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us.
Finally....I have found a left handed painter😁. I really enjoy your style of painting. So excited to get a brush in hand and begin painting. Thanks for your wonderful teaching skills!
If things get better after pandemic is not so heavy on our lives I will join your patreon. I cannot do it right now. But you are my choice for a very good lesson every video I have seen. You teach so well, so easily. I have watched so many many different people teaching in TH-cam videos. I had to stop and think deeply about who I would choose for patreon. There are many very good artists here teaching. But you are by far the best. Calm, quiet, simple subjects, very controlled and easy way of teaching us. I think you should get a reward or teacher of the year on TH-cam or something. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this. I'm 71 and just learning and it isnt easy some days. But I'm trying to do it every day. Blessings to you sweet lady
I absolutely love your channel You simplify the steps to painting much more than I have found anywhere else Your lovely warm way of talking makes it a pleasure to watch and practice Thank you Jean
I'm new to watercolor. I love watching you paint. I find you very inspiring. Thanks so much and may 2021 bring many flowers and sunshine into this crazy world we all live in.
I found my place.....after watching you and painting from your videos I've come to enjoy my watercolors so very much more. I just ordered two of your books ...I'm just in love with your work, method and personality. You are a treasure.
All of the flowers are beautiful my favorite is the corn flour. I wish I could paint like you you do it with such an finesse. Your paintings are so delicate and beautiful. Thañk you for sharing your painting techniques with us.
I love painting flowers and since it is winter and the pandemic is still with us, your wonderful video is such a bright spot in the day! Thank you. Very much.I have subscribed,
Lovely, delicate blossoms. Thank you for your tutorials, they are so enjoyable! Interesting to see that your wildflowers are a bit different than the ones here in the US. The honeysuckle is a lot different, but the rest are pretty similar.
Sorry to be so offtopic but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost my login password. I would love any help you can offer me!
@Willie Zayn Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
So love this. It's always so calming to watch and listen. I had fun playing with watercolors and your methods this summer. Very peaceful and centering. I'm looking forward to it again next summer! In the meantime, I'll watch and live vicariously through your brushes. Cheers!
Love watching you work, .....you make it look so easy lol....just got watercolours today lol......mmm l WONDER if lol lol..........ps,I'm delighted to see you're a left handed artist also yeeeaaay.....TFS x
So simple, yet gorgeous. My favorites are the honeysuckle, corn flower, and red campion--can't wait for your next video (saw the preview on IG) to put these all together! Thank you for sharing.
Oh Harriett! I am loving these flowers!! So beautiful and simple (when you do them)! I would someday like to paint a group or pile of colorful flowers with a black background! I had this idea because there is an advert for flower arranging classes on my screen and this pile of flowers is so beautiful! I know that is for someone a bit more experienced but I think that it is a fun goal! Thank you for taking us along step by step!💕💕
Love these as always your ability to make it look so easy is inspiring. I assume though that it's like anything else, practice, practice, practice...then you can be comfortable with your strokes. Also, I think another key is knowing exactly how wet to have your brush, cause a lot of times mine is either not wet enough or too wet!
Yes it sounds like you're instincts are completely spot on Lawrence. I paint pretty much every day so it's still like second nature to me, however I still make plenty of mistakes. Best thing is to keep the attitude of every mistake is a useful learning experience.
Another comment from me, I enjoy making my own greetings cards, if I can master your work these will be lovely for Easter and Birthday cards...Thank you,. Deb x
I just receiveed your book ( in french for Christmas) it is beautiful ! I think Your videos will help me to understand the brush strokes … I am a beginner and I find difficult to choose the good brushes …
Patrizia Ward Thank you so much for your lovely paintings. However could you please mention what brush sizes you are using for us learners. I’m so enjoying your videos. Thank you.
Just for clarification, a rosehip (or rose hip, rose hep, or rose daw) is not a type of rose, but rather is the fruit (which you included in your picture!) that forms on various types of rose plants. But in any case, these are beautiful paintings and easy techniques. Looking forward to trying them out!
Oh my yes I agree with all you say. I will too join her patreon when I can afford it. we are awaiting a tax refund and then I will go for it. I love her style, her quiet demeanor and her talent so so much. I feel I become a better artist if i emulate this beautiful teacher
I just found your channel today and have already watched several videos. I love the way you teach! Is there any chance you could do a tutorial for that beautiful Eucalyptus that is hanging up behind you? Thank you for all you're doing to teach us beginners!
Thank you so much. These tutorials are immensely helpful. Is it possible for you to add the size of the paper that you are using please? It's difficult to gauge the sizes of the illustrations on a screen.
Thanks Harriet! Personally I'd find it really helpful if at times you could do close ups of the petal strokes, I'm on an iPad mini so can't quite see the shape of the campion leaves and can't zoom in 😬 other than that fab as always 😍
Ciao, bellissimi i tuoi fiorii. 😃 Che fiori sono i terzi e gli ultimi che hai dipinto? Gli altri penso siano fiori di campo e un papavero. Scusa se ti scrivo in italiano, ma non so l’inglese. Ciao 😉 Un saluto dall’Italia. 🇮🇹

Ah that's wonderful Kim. yes however loose I'm painting I need to have some kind of structure in there to make sure it works.
Thank you for the simplified flowers. I was intimidated by the detailed Honeysuckle. :)
