    I’ll give you a good tip for next time since I am an airline pilot myself. If you ever encounter any cabin manager/crew in the future and they tell you that whatever you do is against the company’s policy verbally you can simply tell them that you respect that but you would appreciate it if they could provide you with where in the cabin crew operational manual of the specific airline you’re flying on specify that passenger taking videos is not allowed in the cabin. If they tell you they don’t have it, they’re lying they could possibly have them on their iPad and/or paper copy which is a must on-board. If they can’t provide you with physical evidence of the company policy then you have all the right to do whatever you’re doing. Never accept verbal “company policy”. It’s bullshit.

      with due respect Noor ji.. i can hazard a guess that you aren't from South Asia.
      we.. are Gods.. we .. are B E Y O N D.. policies, rules, laws, courtesies, etiquette.. and make (or break) and follow and unfollow them as per our convenience.
      it makes white privilege easier at times 'cause slavery still is cantilevered on us in some morphed form
      and in general ..our obsession with fairness (of the skin).. fairness of our acts, omissions are subservient.
      even you wouldn't follow your own advice had you had the GOOD fortune of flying with the petite aunties of the erstwhile Induan Airlines and Air India back through 80s 90s and some even today.
      well... they were petite when they wrre hired (during the Ice Age).. later became aunties..trade unions, employee unions and govt. apathy help retain raise/ perks.
      back in 80s 90s they'd themselves provide the complsints book or otherwise give out the name/designation of the authority whose shoulder we could cry on.. once a fsmily.member even had one such aunty give the direct cabin number / fixed line of her supervisor's boss!!

      I’m shocked to be honest that a pilot would encourage passengers to disregard crew instructions. By all means this particular flight was not managed very well at all by the crew...however civil aviation authority requires passengers to follow crew instructions... way to have your crew’s back dude

    Don't ever compare yourself with Sam chui.... He is paid to give good review ... Unless he travels on economy them Only critics... But you Josh honestly you are realistic and I think airlines should focus on wow a pax instead of shut them off.
    Who has nothing to fear , has nothing to band in filming

      Sam Chui is the biggest sellout in the aviation industry. I stopped watching his vids a long time ago.

      And then didn't seem realistic at all .... Not on a real traveler level...
      Josh is better in this way he just shows what a real pax would see or feel

      EITAN TAL He’s gotten so good at what he does he can make Air Koryo look like Qatar Airways 😂😂😂😂 Eventually a lot of TH-camrs can’t resist the appeal of exchanging a good review for super elite treatment (Non Stop Dan and Qatar airways, plus his review of the E-2 really pissed me off). I just hope Josh doesn’t sell out in the future. So far, so good!

      It's vlogs like this which makes it helpful. Anyone can be nice and yes no airline is 100% perfect but we want to know how worst can an experience with an airline gets. And of course, we want to get what we are suppose to get for the price we have paid. If an airline can't give us what's worth the price and safety, then what for purchasing?

    The fact that they left the cart there for 15 minutes is just unacceptable. At ALL times they have to move it to the galley. Its just dangerous and the fact of how they acted towards you. Wow, just wow. I am speechless.

    This is why competition is always good in the market. When one or two airlines shut down the other airlines becomes more dominating in their behaviour.

    To be fair, if I was a paying passenger having to sit next to someone that is vlogging or constantly talking and filming, I would find it pretty annoying too. Maybe a fellow passenger complained to the cabin crew.
    Having said that, rudeness by the staff is not acceptable.

    Sam Chui does have great content, but any frecuent traveler knows he gets special treatment just because of who he is. Not the real deal.

    As an Indian, its embarrassing to say that I'm not surprised at this. There's always been a feeling of being unwelcome on every airline in India. They treat you as if you were flying for free and don't deserve anything extra in terms of hospitality and service. Just the bare minimum is alright by them. I do understand that some of them are overworked and underpaid, but that doesn't mean the customer takes the brunt of it.
    Kingfisher and Jet Airways were an exception to this rule. Maybe even Paramount. But unfortunately all the above mentioned airlines are no more. Vistara really has the potential to be a world class product from India, but unfortunately it doesn't seem so.

    Not many people who travel in an aircraft like to be filmed or video graphed. I understand that this is an airline review, but an aircraft is a public space. There are rules to be followed! There are any vloggers today, ranging from experienced to starters. Also, one must respect the privacy of the airline crew too. Theyre not objects for your youtube views.

    Hi Josh, I flew Vistara on the same sector earlier this year and the crew were great. I think this is a crew thing and not an airline thing. Sorry for your bad experience with them. I fly for work and I hate when you get on a flight and the crew are not friendly. I watch all your videos and I do respect your judgments. Good luck man and keep flying and posting your wonderful videos.

      It may be a "crew thing", but the CEO's email that only said (twice) they were "investigating" was not part of a class act. I wouldn't have Vistara on the top of my list.

    Hi Josh, being an Indian and being a frequent flyer of Vistara. And mostly the crew has been courteous and well behaved but as an Indian it is not at all our culture of such behaviour and hospitality . I will make sure to convey this incident to Vistara since they claim to be five star airline.

In an organisation if your shit at the top it eventually feeds down the chain. These kind of people don't know what constructive criticism is and really shouldn't be employed in the "SERVICE" industry.

      What are the passengers to do in turbulence or an emergency? ......... or even to go to the toilet? I flew Jet internally in its early days and it was excellent so obviously this has not been maintained. Now when I visit family I fly to Chennai and take the train.....every bit as good as our long distance trains here in Australia.

    But Vistara is a very good fleet. It is the best airline like IndiGO. Vistara is made by Tata group so they are kind, welcoming. I too travelled through Vistara they were very kind.

    Yeah, I think that trolley being left where it was was ~not accidental~ at all. More a sort of "in your face" act. I would be very interested to hear if they do come forward with some sort of explanation or "clarification of the policy."

      Passive aggressive bitches...I've seen flight attendants bully passengers in ways similar to this. They are smart about it so if you complain, they have a plausible reason for their actions, and try to bait you so that if you assert yourself (such as gently pushing the cart back to get out/use the lav), they can lie/exaggerate and say you were being "aggressive" or "disruptive"...and of course, they know even with fellow passengers defending you, the crew's word is almost always taken as gospel.

    I don't think you are the only one who's had this sort of experience with Vistara. What's funny is that Air India is becoming more friendlier than the private airlines. But that's a different discussion.

    Josh, you’re at the top of the game with your trip report videos, please keep them coming. I worked in the field of airline operations for 27 years until an unexpected health problem meant that I could no longer work in my beloved aviation, or do any work at all. I miss my colleagues, the fun, and all the travelling I used to do. I’m housebound now, but your videos make me feel as though I’ve done the journey with you. Thank you my friend.

    Your reviews shows how they treat a normal passenger and that is what we want to know what good is in knowing how an influencer is being treated and about travel I do agree it could be full of challenges and not always as romantic as in pictures on Instagram. And you are doing a great job 👍

    I really think Airlines should start training their staffs to react properly to youtubers and other social media influencers. Instead of acting so uptight and in the end creating a PR nightmare that they can't control

      Disagree - I think there should be a mutual respect between passenger and cabin crew. People can feel VERY uncomfortable when being filmed or think they’re being filmed, especially while working. However, the cabin crew could have handled it better. I’m tired of hearing about “influencers” - get a real job!

    Please continue to do what you're doing - realistic, unbiased reviews. I think that is what drew me to your channel in the first place. We're not flying premium classes all day every day and our experiences aren't always red-carpet worthy. It's good to see the realistic side of things.

    Brother there were lots of hijacking in India during 1980-2000s and many terrorist attacks that's why airline, metro, railways, hotels,malls, etc. are strictly instructed to prohibit recording, check onboarding customer thoroughly. That's why you see alot of checking and restrictions in India.

    Your flight reviews are so genuine and raw that it really gives us unbiased reviews. That is your trademark, please dont loose it. Keep it up! At least the airline would be able to see where they can improve, rather than keep on lying to the public hiding behind their star status but their service is terrible.

    They were great when they started but complacency has soon set in. Probably their focus is now only on international routes at the cost of ignoring domestic ones. They've only become more arrogant and find them heading the Jet Airways route but no point providing them a feedback or even complaining. They won't even care and it will just go into a blackhole. Infact, all carriers are the same and we don't have much choice.

    Every time I fly IndiGo I love it, they deliver what they promise and they never over promise and I found them better than Vistara

      Indigo has done some incredible things for me twice. When their flight was delayed (once it was their fault, the other time it was weather), and I was losing my connecting train, they actually gave me a free connection to my final destination! Can you believe that? They promise minimum, and charge for everything, but on what they have promised, they deliver way beyond what the law demands. You get better than what you expect.

    Josh: Anyone chooses to compare your reviews with Sam Chui's channel, are mistaken. Sam Chui is a great (and complete) aviation geek Vlogger, and not focused only on Airline Reviews. He is way passed that. If one wants ONLY Airlines reviews, there are few good TH-cam channels, and Josh's (gotravelyourway) channel is one those few good ones.
    It is obvious that Vistara has either completely taken a turn towards bad service, or it is just one of those set of crew who are all angry that morning.
    Nevertheless, one cannot fly 100 times to find out what the true service level of an airlines is. Only a random flight like this will be taken into consideration and reviewed. If it is bad, then overall, it is bad.
    Shame on Vistara. Very disappointing. I would rather save my money and fly a low-cost airlines with no service, than paying higher fare for bad treatment.
    P.S. Seriously, I can't believe the CCO would un-follow a feed because, they were critical about their organization. What a childish thing to do. This is the clearest sign that the airlines is not interested in knowing what could be changed, corrected and improved. May be they don't teach that at Dartmouth and UPenn (Wharton), eh!

    As a middle class Indian - My first choice is always Indigo Airlines, they are affordable, friendly service and the food is great as well. Major part is their connectivity to almost all domestic airports in India 👍🏻

    Well josh in that case I would like to give my small review for vistara where I choose a very basic economy seat which didn't had anything except tea/coffee complimentary. And in my flight I ordered "Rajma Chawal" onboard by paying extra but they were so bad after coming home I had my stomach upset. And I felt in a way that it is better to choose airline like IndiGo or Go Air ( I don't consider SPICEshit anywhere) rather then paying more to vistara for economy.

    Josh,I just started to subscribe to your channel. I am so so happy to voice my opinion on Indian Airlines. First time myself and sisters traveled to India. From Delhi to Mumbai we were treated very poorly by the staffs. We looked Indian but can't speak the language because of that were ignored, and the business class was very dirty. We travelled from Canada to Dubai with Emirates business class. We were respected treated with dignity and respect. Can't wait for the pandemic to subside and travel with our favorite Emirates Airlines .Never again with any Indian airlines. You are the best in speaking the truth.

    Its long overdue that you addressed the "elephant on the plane". The theatrical performance, arse licking, pig (when eating) and sleeze bag with female cabin crew!! Sam Chui is so fake and cringe worthy.
    When you did a "behind the scenes" at Heathrow with Nigel, it was absolutely fantastic, educational and we appreciated the efforts involved to score a look at what happens.
    Stay humble and true to yourself always and keep your credibility intact. 5 star review!

      Sam Chui is more widely known and pre arranges his flight filming so the crew are already prepared and go above and beyond just for him. Josh is stuck in the middle. I love his honesty and reviews but until he gives advance warning he will encounter this more often especially with certain countries.

    I recently flew premium economy with Vistara about 2 weeks ago (end Jan 2021) and had a great experience despite COVID-19 precautions in place. I think you just got unlucky with some particularly bitchy and grumpy flight attendants. I would take down their names and complain to Vistara, cause they are generally very good! And my current favourite indian airline. On another note, love your videos! Keep up the good content!!

    True, i totally agree with you. I have seen Sam videos as well. In his videos he always says good things. I like your honest reviews. Now coming to this video, it is not only Vistara, but most of the airline cabin crew in India don't welcome you with a smile. Even when you get out they don't even care. These people give value for money. They say Hi hello to VIP passengers only. They judge you by color and appearance. Adhiti Devo bhava.. is a joke.. it is only in books.

    Thanks for the video, Josh. In India the problem is with Delhi-based crew. Many of them think no end of themselves, and it cuts across airlines. The crew from other bases in India like Mumbai are much better behaved.

    alright, I’ve been on Vistara many times and crew were quite nice and the service was nice as well, so this is probably a problem with the crew and not the airline. Just a suggestion that u fly Vistara from Delhi to London it’s a long haul flight , and the plane is a Dreamliner it also has an on board entertainment system. But yeah India will only start internationally next year after lockdown and more ppl r vaccinated

    😂😂that didn't age well! Still remember your first Vistara video, probably the crew were ex-Jet Airways from your A330 video.
    Regarding the no filming policy, that's just people who didn't go through the books carefully! You aren't allowed to film in certain areas of Indian airports because they are partly owned by air force. Crew are told about this and they misinterpret it into a complete no filming policy. As for pilots, we aren't allowed to do so in the cockpit.

    Josh, if I compare your reviews with Sam Chui, yours are so much more relatable. My trip doesnt get announced to tens and hundreds of the airlines employees. What you find a disappointing experience is a living everyday reality. That is exactly how we are treated by these so called "5 star Indian airlines". I am so glad that you have brought this up out there. I know Indian passengers are not the most well behaved in terms of baggage allowances and airline etiquettes and can actually demotivate airline staff but you did nothing wrong. Right from the onset you carried that positive mindset and then being treated like this, it is truly disappointing. Deepika Padukone should rethink about her endorsement.

    I love Vistara. Vistara is my favourite airline due to following reasons-
    1. Most delicious inflight meal in India.
    2. Most courteous and gentle cabin crew (from my personal experience).
    3. Fastest rewarding frequent flyer programme in the world- Club Vistara.
    4. Same baggage allowance as international flight if domestic and international flights booked on same ticket.
    5. Cheap access to lounge for economy passengers.
    6. Free upgrades to Business and Premium Economy using upgrade vouchers.

      There are tons of ad-blocking browser extensions. Just use one of them. I haven't seen a single ad on TH-cam for a LONG time.

    I have travelled to Gujrat with Vistara airlines. The staff is good and welcoming. Yet all have a right to share their veiws and i respect your veiws.

    I suggest putting the origin and destination of the flight in the video description. For those who love aviation it is always relevant information.
