Well said! The old Vantage V8 feels like you couldn’t afford a DBS but you want the performance. This car feels like you don’t want the big boat super GT DBS but a nimble fun yet elegant car. Really hit the sweet spot.
I think if they had stuck the DB10 front end on, made the interior a bit more stylish and took £20k off the price, then it would have sold in bucket loads. As for the MB engine, I think that was a good idea and they were always going to be stuck with an out of date info system due to competing with other MB cars.

I want to love Astons but I just don't find them as desireable as the previous generations like the DB9. I remember when it came out in 2004 and saw that awesome video in Top Gear when they raced it to Monaco. It sounded amazing, the interior was gorgeous and it was one of the most beautiful cars in the world back then. They have to improve the design of the interior because the one in the Continental GT is just better. Sadly, Aston Martin seems to always be a few years behind its competitors. Relying on cool factor is not enough to compete when other manufacturers are making better cars.
DB9/DBS is the best looking modern Aston they’ll ever make. Nothing will ever come close, Vantage is OK, just OK, looks a bit stubby to me, and i dont particularly like the Vulcan style front end either. Needs to more subtle.
when I was looking at The New Vantage with nice options £150k was asked - now that car can be bought for £90k just 2 years later - too much for anyone to loose, I found it to be a brilliant car to drive and a striking object to behold. This is an excellent piece J .
Originally I hated the look with headlights that are too small but it's slowly growing on me. At least they're trying to fix it, unlike the F-type which they've now ruined haha.
@Rick York I should specify - They've ruined the 'new' F-type with the hideous aggressive front end/headlights. Thankfully for all of us, including yourself - the older ones are cheaper and come with the option of a manual or SVR version
@@LukeEvans55 The new F-Type is the vehicular equivalent to present day Lil Kim, fucking ruined. The car was so original so beautiful and matching the concept it was based on joining the ranks of cars that are 1:1 with its prototypes. But the new one threw all that in the fucking bin, an absolutely horrid front.
I just bought a well spec'd Vantage, and all I can say is this car is truly impressive. The info system, everyone likes to rip on, is completely fine. I find it no better or worse than what was in my Stelvio or my Porsche Cayenne. If I were to compare the info system to the latest and greatest in 2022, yes it is lacking some features, but I didn't buy this car to play with the infotainment system! You certainly don't need to touch the manual to learn how to use it! The only thing I wish I could do, is display WAZE for nav purposes with CarPlay, but what is provided works great for everything except that! As to the the actual drivability of the car, and that is what I bought it for, it is simply spectacular! Yes a Porsche GTS will beat it on the track and 0-60 but not by much. Where I find it so much better than the 911 is in its interior. The 911 unless spec's with the full leather package, which is very costly, is rather boring and generic inside. It's kind of reminds me of sitting in a Tesla, which is horrible! In addition, here in Chicago, everyone drives a 911. Drive 5 miles and you will see 20 of them. You never see an Aston on the road. At this level of car, I want to be different. Having the Honda Odyssey version of a sports car doesn't interest me and to me, that is what a 911 is. The other car I was seriously considering was the AMG GT. I loved this car until I saw one in real life and drove it. The ride quality is punishing and the car just reminds me to much of a Dodge Viper, which I never really liked. I did love the engine in that car however, but with the Aston I get that engine but in a better looking package. If you are looking at a car in this category, do yourself a favor and take one for a test drive. Also if possible, look at as many colors as you can in real life. None of these cars photograph well except for the China Grey version. The Q colors have so much depth and character to them, they must be seen on a sunny day, in the flesh. Lastly, a lot of these cars were spec'd in full Alcantera. Personally I can't stand the full Alcantara interior, find one with the full leather interior. Good luck in your search, this is truly a spectacular car that deserves far more praise than it is currently getting!
What are your true opinions on the new vantage? I know for sure if I bought one a year ago and then this year they revamped it with like 100 more hp a new front end and better interior id be pissed !
Yeah. I don't understand the obsession with it. It should only ever be used on areas you never touch. For example, in my car it's on the headliner and interior A pillar.
James A Brown i'm surprised he didn't ask about this before uploading this video, then. If that is his only evidence for "poor build quality" then the claim is unfounded.
I personally think these look amazing. Previously to this, Astons all looked a bit samey. Even a lot of petrol heads could not tell which model was which. This thing looks fresh and modern and is one of the best looking cars on the road. I think they have wimped out with the new grille.
I like the new one. But if I had the money for it, I´d still go and buy the last generation V12 Vantage with a manual gearbox. Cause that is the car I lust after and not just like.
Should’ve made it similar to the superlegerra. At least have uniform design language in the headlights. This looks like some sea crustacean. The ones that have eyes on the bottom that stare up at u when u flip it over.
Can I say that in the flesh this car just works. I fell in love at the pre-launch release and still love everything about the look (inside and out). But the greatest thing is it’s feedback on a long drive, this is a true GT car. I had the previous model for 10 years and while it was art on wheels it lacked the power necessary for a sports tourer. Problem solved!
Totally agree with you, I will never get to like that front and now in 2024 as we have a new Vantage reverting to the traditional Aston front shape, Aston realised they got it wrong.
the miata esque front end was horrid and the main reason i am thinking of staying with my f type line or going to the R8....I feel they were too hesitant with making the front end as equally as unique as the rear. They did a great job with the rear, despite having to retain the safety features required per most governments, they should have created a similar front end that was mirrored. It looks like they ran out of budget while designing the front end and were limited by the chassis they were working with. Interesting to hear from the designers and engineers as to what went wrong with the front end.
@@aprilmayjoon Marek Reichman seems to go through a few mental disfunctions when designing some cars. He has a talent of "ruining an already great piece"
I own a 2006 Vantage, it’s in Aston at the moment, am considering buying one of these as they are the most Gorgeous looking sports car in the world to me, love the interior, love the aggressive rear end, love the handles if it’s not broken don’t try fix it! Sound is one of a kind love it, love all the suede, when I get in mine, I still love the smell!
I may be in the minority here, but i really like it all around (yes even the interior). Normally i celebrate more classically styled cars and Aston Martin is one of my favourite companies bacause of this, but i just really like it for some reason... However, Aston Martin still fucked up with this car. Why you ask? Well, looking around at AM owners i've seen and met in my life, their average customer is around 150 years old. Styling a car in this way was suicide, because they completely missed their clientele. AM seems to not really know who their customers are, unfortunately.
I get the feeling Aston have been trying to shake that image somewhat, and appeal to a younger and more dynamic demographic. That might be their downfall if they alienate their loyal fan base entirely though.
I bought a DB-9 because it exudes class. It is my daily driver because of that V-12. I can’t get enough of that Cosworth sound and feel. I have never seen a Ferrari I thought was as beautiful. The biggest mistake was not putting a V-12 in the Vantage. It is just TOO ordinary for an Aston. I’m 57. Aston DID NOT miss their clientele. The Vantage just is not special enough.
But this attitude is what killed Harley Davidson. A company that caters to an aging client demographic will fail. Like Harley Davidson. Aston Martin needs to attract the younger demographic or else AM will cease to exist as a brand.
I think photos and videos don't do it justice. I feel it definitely stands out in person I saw one in a navy blue with black accents and it looked so damn good.
I lucky enough to own one of these, I could have bought an 911 (ten a penny), or a GTS (nice but a bit conspicuous) but the Aston in comparison just has something special about it. It’s visceral, fun, seriously quick and a bit of a handful if you don’t respect it. Personally I love the looks but that is subjective. The interior is OK, a bit dated but certainly comfortable and very roomy (I’m 6ft 4). Agree on the price though. I managed to get a pre registered car with only 30 miles and Aston gave me a 25% discount, otherwise I would never have paid the list price. Second hand they will be a terrific buy, that Merc engine is pretty bulletproof. Most important of all though, it puts a great big grin on my face every time I drive it, and for that reason alone I’m a very happy owner.
I couldn’t agree more. This is my car in the video and I thoroughly enjoy it. It replaced a 991.2 911 Turbo which was fast but bland. On the same roads as in the video the 911 Turbo was faster but so much less involving. It was like being in a video game, quicker acceleration and more grip but so inert. You just don’t feel part of the package and it sounded like a vacuum. On paper it ticks all the boxes but as an ownership proposition it felt a bit of a let down. I never parked mine and walked away from it and turned around to gaze at it. The new Vantage ticks my boxes on the road and track. It looks absolutely beautiful in the flesh, the interior whilst a bit dated actually feels special and I much prefer buttons over touch screens. The new 992 is over complicated in my opinion. I love the noise, it sounds epic, the handling, the fact that I’m involved in the driving experience, and even at 40 MPH it feels special, very special. I never fail to enjoy looking at it from any angle. Colour is subjective but China grey looks fabulous and that’s why I bought it. There’s a colour for everyone within the Vantage range. My car has been fault free over 11,000 miles, and I dispute the paint wearing issue James pointed out. The panels aren’t rubbing and the mark is due to me closing the tailgate with a strap of a bag caught in the gap. I use it as much as I can and have enjoyed its ability on the track too. I’m fortunate enough to own a few nice cars to choose from, but tend to end up behind the wheel of the Vantage more than others. I bought my car at 4 months old with a massive saving, making it cheaper than a 992 Porsche with a few options. More power, better looks, better sound and a chance to be part of an exclusive brand. I’m not a Porsche hater and have owned a 981 Spyder since new in 2015 and have a 718 Spyder PDK coming to join my collection. The Spyder is way more enjoyable to drive than my 911 Turbo was, it also has some character. I’ve had nothing but positive feedback from all who’ve seen my Vantage in the flesh but wouldn’t care if it wasn’t liked but anyone. I simply love it and intend continuing to enjoy it for a few more years. Glad to hear you are enjoying your Vantage as much as me. The Aston community is a great bunch of proper petrol heads.
The Vantage is certainly a far more exciting drive than the 992. I am keen to see going forward how Aston get on as they allegedly now are not doing discounts anymore, but I fear that means they just wont be selling many cars for the next 2-3 years
@@JBthemanwithcars Hi there, I see you on the Aston forum (it was your link that sent me here). The new Vantage does seem to get some stick, mostly by those who have never actually seen one in the flesh let alone driven one! Oh well, I’m happy to just carry on enjoying these amazing cars p.s I love Porsche (and AMG’s) and whilst I chose an Aston it doesn’t stop me appreciating them for the amazing cars they are.
@@JayEmmOnCars they have just reduced the list price (slightly) which might explain this. I think you were right on the video, they over supplied the market last year and left dealers with lots of unsold stock on forecourts, hence some pretty drastic deals to get these units shifted (I was happy to oblige!). I love the Aston brand and hope the combination of DBX plus some tweaking of the Vantage styling (and price) brings them more buyers. The world would be a much sadder place without them.
Because F-type does everything new Vantage does better and old Vantage is miles better looking and more what everyone says they want = gorgeous, naturally aspirated, manual, hydraulic steering. There is no way I'd buy a new Vantage if I had the money.
One of the most 'handling feel' acclaimed cars in the world, designed with Senna, is EPS. That car is the NSX.. same module is used on the S2K and you never hear moaning about it there either. EPS done right is better than any hydro steering.
From Colorado USA... Great review! I agree with everything subjective you discussed but think it’s still gorgeous. The Vantage, the BMW m850, and the C8 corvette will be all about the same price point when I pull the trigger. I can’t wait to own one of them!
0:07 I really enjoy this song. I think the Aston Martin Vantage is very cool in Red or Lime Green. Grey is just not a good color for this. It doesn’t have the class looks of older school DB11 Aston’s, but it has a bit of subdued riot style like the 1st Audi R8 and BMW i8. My dream rich garage is an Aston Martin Vantage, McLaren 570S, 1st gen Audi R8, Honda NSX, Mercedes 190 Evolution 2, Mitsubishi 3000GT, Lotus Evora, Honda Civic Type R, BMW i8, and Nissan GT-R.
Only one saving grace. A manual transmission is available. Even though statistically nobody will buy one. The plastics that constitute the interior compare unfavorably to what you find in a Toyota corolla
20 months after this video and I've just bought a year old Vantage with 1700 miles on the clock for £116,500! The car is Skyfall SIlver with the hunter grill and all blacked out exterior packs and interior. Frankly, it looks amazing. Drives lovely too.
Your videos always impress me with the attention to detail in terms of continuity - the way the video and sound and B-roll are seamlessly joined together. It all adds to the pleasure of watching your reviews. Thanks for making the effort, JayEmm.
Pictures just don’t do this car justice. There’s a couple I’ve seen around in the bright green and black and they are so intimidating in person. The stance is low and wide and I’m impressed each and every time. I agree the front lights were an odd choice and look out of place but the rest is just stunning from all angles and the sound is still unmistakably Aston and hasn’t been too AMG’d in my opinion. Jimmy, I think your Aston videos are my most revisited, thanks for another corker.
Totally agree with you on the front. I bought a late 2014 Vantage and i love the front and would have been gutted to push a bit more money to have had one of these just to up the plate. I just can’t get to like it and now in 2024 with the new one clearly reverting to type this will fall in a gap between them as an “oops” design.
Yep, you nailed it. The front is awkward looking. The back is a little fussy lower down too. It’s a shame, Aston can’t seem to move away successfully very far from the ‘DB7 shape’.
I have a 2016 which I picked up pretty cheap brand new. I looked at this one recently and personally like the older one better. Part of the fun for me is a manual gearbox and the interior is a nicer place to be. I’d like the extra power but not enough to justify the price hike and the interior downgrade - especially not at a the $160k price point there are in the US.
Bruh, how you gonna say the front end looks uninspired, when at the same time everythring else is overstyled and ugly. This car's design is perfect and timeless.
It's unforgivable. For some reason the latest Aston interiors put me in mind of late 90s Ford Fiestas - all curves and buttons and low rent air vents. Look at what JLR just did with the F-Pace and XR interiors - that looks a level above this.
it was fun to look but nightmare to used... reason why nobody want used.. one that front.. the last vantage at least had good gril...that just so so modern sport car.. which keep remind me of my 370z.. whch hell alot of cheaper than that thing..
I loved this car as soon as I saw it. Its shapes, curves and slickness is so Aston Martin, so James Bond. Especially the way the B pillar flows into the back of the car.
It's a bit unfair to complain about the looks when it's still in grey primer, I'm sure it will look much better once painted (I know the grey primer colour is the finished paintjob, I'm ridiculing it).
A well done take on the new Vantage. Nobody is more critical than an owner of the last generation. It’s far from perfect with valid criticism of interior and exterior. Yet I loved mine for the all too short time I had it. The car had a personality. And competence. Made me smile.
I loved the old generation of Aston so much I can't imagine Aston doing better for me. Original DB9 is still one of the most pretty cars ever. New Aston interiors seem the biggest let down as the old generation interior was so amazing when it came out. Bentley probably did it right with their central screen that can fold away.
I really love this Vantage more than the now dated looking VH platform one. This new Vantage came with 2 front grill options, a smaller, subdued chrome grill or the blacked out larger grill like in the example you're driving. I never noticed the tiny headlights on the launch versions, but now that you said something I can't unsee it! Lol
Excellent video. As a former V12V owner I might have been a customer for this but when it came out I didn't like the looks and it was too expensive for me. Ironically, unlike James I do like the interior and I am very happy with the infotainment - I bought a 2k mile DB11 instead. Odd to dislike the door handles - surely it's a positive to retain an Aston trademark. And now you can have keyless unlock and starting that is an enormous step forward. Incidentally my DB11 key is a fancy chrome piece. Were you using the spare key?
I like how it looks personally , never had a problem with it, but everything else doesn't keep up with that look. It is obviously a GT car, it should've been toned down a bit to compete with regular 911s or cars like Roma and similar. And it looks miles better than F-type. Good review!
I’m surprised at peoples negative opinions on the looks of this, I think this is one of the most beautiful cars I’ve seen, that back end is spectacular
Most excellent point made by any car critique. 'As all infotainment sysems become obsolete as the years go by, you should be able to make it go away, Volvo style'.
Watching this in Jan 2024, my brother having just bought a 69 plate example in blue... The front-end has really grown on me since I first saw the car in 2019. In blue the swoops, curves and creases work very well. With gloss black splitter and grille surround it has purpose and form. Side profile is beautiful, especially when the vent/blade is in a drilled black seracote-type finish. Gorgeous at the back-end. All I'd do is make the sports quad exhaust have larger diameter finishers as they look a bit apologetic. It needn't apologise though as it sounds incredible. Body fit and finish and interior build quality first rate on a 2019 17,000 mile car. It's solid as a rock. Prices have firmed-up a lot since this revised and you'll easily pay £90k for a decent spec car of that age. £100 for a top spec.
Wait a minute.. did I understand you correctly about the payment plan? 1000 up front and then another grand every month for two years? 25 grand for an Aston? That's quite a bargain indeed.
@@JayEmmOnCars Even if I had the money, I probably woudn't. I doubt I would fit in there comfortably at almost two meters tall with fairly long legs. Plus getting in and out would literally be a pain. To me the current trend towards SUVs is actually fairly convenient as they allow me to get in and out comforatbly - plus they are quite practical when you need to transport stuff. Did most of our last move with my Ford Ecosport. Even got the disassembled bed frame in there. The name may be contradictory, but it actually is pretty fun to drive (although it can probably not hold a candle to this Aston here)
@RichJW That would very much depend on your requirements. If you don't like them, okay. But there are people to whom they are entirely adequate - myself included. I am watching videos like this to see what else is out there without wasting my time and money on checking out all those cars myself. Sure, i could have a bigger and more powerful car, but the reason why I don't is because I simply don't NEED it. Plus most of the driving I do is within a radius of 70-ish kilometers around my place of residence, including some urban areas - in which the comparatively small size of the Ecosport and turbo are actually quite useful.
Great review very entertaining. I personally like the look of this Aston a great deal. The Mercedes powertrain will if serviced properly will likely hold up. And to get one at the right price on the secondary market at a steep discount from original MSRP makes it even sweeter. 😎👍
I've seen three so far. One in that lurid Lime Essence with that weird petal-like wheel, silver grille and graphite exterior package. It was just... wrong. The other two is in China Grey and Q Elwood Blue, both got Black Exterior Package (black grille, exterior parts, etc), and they looked fantastic. I especially dig that muscular hips. Not trying to share any fetish whatsoever.
Aston Martin's have been known for their large head lamps. That has been intrinsically their signature design identification, combined of course with their Grille. It's akin to the BMW Kidney Grille, Ferrari' s Round Tail Lamps, Porsche 911's Iconic slanted hood & up right Head Lamps...
I've been to local Cars and Coffee meets in my town. There's a couple older V12 Astons as well as a couple newer vantage models. The older Astons are proper head turning cars. I want a V10 M6 and a V12 Vanquish so bad!
Best honest review out there. As a potential buyer I thought: The front-end is hideous; why spent extra on a C63 engine; cluttered interior. That was the end of that buying decision
One thing car journalists tend to omit - and is sadly the case here - is the vehicle's lighting system. For those who occasionally find themselves behind the wheel after the bright shiny thing in the sky disappears and darkness descends, it's actually fairly important to be able to see what's in front of the vehicle. And yet, journalists remain silent on this important topic. I happen to know someone who bought the new Vantage and then promptly got rid of it because its after-dark capabilities were exceeded by a passing geriatric glow-worm. The same problem used to be true of the previous generation of Jeep Wrangler (my head-torch literally outshone the lights on a rented Wrangler). Turns out, seeing where you're going at night is really very useful. Shame no one seems to take that into consideration.
@@huss03 Have you seen this model in the flesh or heard one for real? probably not. most youtubers rate the sound from what they hear from a youtube video. lol. Mercedes amg engines are the best developed in the world. Just look at F1 and Pagani. This model will be a timeless future classic
I don't mind the front too much. It isn't perfect, with lights being too small, grille too big, but it kinda works. My issue is the taillights. I absolutely hate that needless curve they added.
Agree on the inside. That stuck on Merc screen looks cheap and nasty in a Merc, let alone in an Aston. They look like something from Halfords. I prefer a car without screens. They don’t age. Screens very quickly look out of date.
I disagree. Have had a Jag F type, it’s great. Not great like this. Sounds good, feels fantastic and it’s fastAF. I think it’s unfair to compare the F type to this. If the screen was bigger that would be ideal. Idk I’m an enthusiast of cars; definitely hits the buttons enthusiast wise which is something the prior model didn’t do. It has evolved. It’s isn’t for a casual driver. It’s got some Maserati in it. It definitely had some passion and soul to it now. If you are looking for a cruiser get a S class or E class. DB9/DBS is the best looking modern Aston they’ll ever make. Nothing will ever come close, Vantage is OK, just OK, looks a bit stubby to me, and i dont particularly like the Vulcan style front end either. Needs to more subtle.
So true!!!
when I was looking at The New Vantage with nice options £150k was asked - now that car can be bought for £90k just 2 years later - too much for anyone to loose, I found it to be a brilliant car to drive and a striking object to behold. This is an excellent piece J .
Thanks for stopping by as always Roger
£150k would make me feel loose too.
I always thought that 90k should have been the price point to begin with. It never seemed like a 150k car.
@@LukeEvans55
The new F-Type is the vehicular equivalent to present day Lil Kim, fucking ruined.
The car was so original so beautiful and matching the concept it was based on joining the ranks of cars that are 1:1 with its prototypes.
But the new one threw all that in the fucking bin, an absolutely horrid front.
@@LukeEvans55 agree, Jaguar *totally* dropped the ball with the F type facelift, the first gen was gorgeous & had character.
how are they trying to fix it?
@@samueljones3668 😂😂😂😂 I’m looking at new new ftype sideways lol. But i love it
I just bought a well spec'd Vantage, and all I can say is this car is truly impressive.
Alcantara is nice, but having every single surface covered by it just makes that particular interior look kind of nasty.
Nice until after you've touched it 5 times!
Yeah. I don't understand the obsession with it. It should only ever be used on areas you never touch. For example, in my car it's on the headliner and interior A pillar.
Not to mention it looks like the buttons and vents are just thrown in there
Alcantara is optional, there are 3 other interior options to choose from which are shown in the configurator.
Imagine the mess of the interior after eating 4 packets of pickled onions crisps and brushing the oily crumbs off onto your passenger's seat.
The boot lid alignment issue would have pissed me off on a Dacia,no mind this "premium" auto.
The boot isn’t taking the paint off. I closed it with a handle of a bag caught in the gap.

Nah, it looks modern. It’s good to have a futuristic looker in the sport category, leave tradition to the touring cars.
Should’ve made it similar to the superlegerra. At least have uniform design language in the headlights. This looks like some sea crustacean. The ones that have eyes on the bottom that stare up at u when u flip it over.
I actually like the looks of it. Beats anything Ferrari and lambo do tbh.
There is nothing more elegant than an aston martin, that brand has the class that ferrari and lamborghini lost years ago
Beat only Ferrari.
I agree, although I also love Ferrari. Especially the Roma, which I guess makes sense considering how similar it looks to a Vantage.
@@travish.8545 that Roma is quite lovely
Have you seen the roma? It looks like this car just nicer with better proportions. This car is nice but i find it looks too small.
the "old" ones were timeless classics, they whiffed on the design of this one. The front always reminded me of a very angry Miata
Thrilled to read your post ! I’ve felt that way for a while
I think the rear looks nice, but the front is just not it imo
My thoughts exactly on the front end ...
the back is near perfect. They just need to revamp the headlights a bit. The shape of the front is fine.
Shit now I cant take this idea from my mind , now it looks like a angry Miata to me
Can I say that in the flesh this car just works. I fell in love at the pre-launch release and still love everything about the look (inside and out). But the greatest thing is it’s feedback on a long drive, this is a true GT car. I had the previous model for 10 years and while it was art on wheels it lacked the power necessary for a sports tourer. Problem solved!
I like Aston Martin but this is literally just a re skinned AMG GT.
Even a while later the front end looks like a merging of a stretched Mazda MX5 and and old MX6 (remember those?). It has a really 'Japanese' front.
Totally agree with you, I will never get to like that front and now in 2024 as we have a new Vantage reverting to the traditional Aston front shape, Aston realised they got it wrong.
How can you fail to mention the mx5 style headlights........ absolutely killed it for me!
the miata esque front end was horrid and the main reason i am thinking of staying with my f type line or going to the R8....I feel they were too hesitant with making the front end as equally as unique as the rear.

They seem to have gone right up again in the past year.
3 years later they just started appearing on autotrader for under £70k
I may be in the minority here, but i really like it all around (yes even the interior). Normally i celebrate more classically styled cars and Aston Martin is one of my favourite companies bacause of this, but i just really like it for some reason...
However, Aston Martin still fucked up with this car. Why you ask? Well, looking around at AM owners i've seen and met in my life, their average customer is around 150 years old. Styling a car in this way was suicide, because they completely missed their clientele.
AM seems to not really know who their customers are, unfortunately.
I completely agree with you, the car according to me is fantastic, but it doesn't fulfill the desires of their clientele.
Asia and China are the market this is aimed at. They have a much younger buying demographic - under 40 years old.
I think photos and videos don't do it justice. I feel it definitely stands out in person
I saw one in a navy blue with black accents and it looked so damn good.
How does anyone hate the new vantage. This is one of my dream cars.
Bad dream mate

JayEmm is such an honest an independent reviewer. Fine stuff.
Yep, you nailed it. The front is awkward looking. The back is a little fussy lower down too. It’s a shame, Aston can’t seem to move away successfully very far from the ‘DB7 shape’.

Getting rid of the glass key that you could push into the dash was foolish. That feature was so cool and made starting the car an occasion
I really like that. That spec, that colour, those wheels, even the badges. Yes please!

It's unforgivable. For some reason the latest Aston interiors put me in mind of late 90s Ford Fiestas - all curves and buttons and low rent air vents. Look at what JLR just did with the F-Pace and XR interiors - that looks a level above this.

100% agree with you.
DB9 is the prettiest, of sort the modern astons, and its close relatives like the Vantage.

Just 4 words; I want one too!
Having owned many performance cars, I now have a 19 plate Vantage and it’s absolutely superb 👍🏻

It looks amazing!! Saw one in the flesh recently
Watching this in 2023 as they’re now going for 75k.
In 2024 these are looking good value for a sports car with Aston heritage, and that front end has grown on me versus the facelift they introduced.
this car is beautiful, they stand out on the road so much. I had no idea people didn't like the look
Looks like a Mazda, sounds like a Merc'...never excited me one bit.
Haters will be haters. I got mine for Christmas and I love,it!
I wish Volvo still owned Aston. Now they do brilliant interiors and infotainment systems
Volvo never owned AM, Ford owned both....
@@Suprahampton Premier Automotive Group
Ford Aston Volvo and Land Rover
@@francobanzini665 yes, Ford owned Aston, Volvo etc. Volvo didn't own Aston
The only car TH-camr who's videos I watch from start-to-finish
With the new frontend I love the new vantage the interior is a little unfortunate but I've always had a soft spot to Aston Martin.
I think this car looks absolutely stunning. Everyone is just jumping on the hate bandwagon. I've seen 2 now on the road and look awesome in real life
@@huss03 Have you seen this model in the flesh or heard one for real? probably not. most youtubers rate the sound from what they hear from a youtube video. lol. Mercedes amg engines are the best developed in the world. Just look at F1 and Pagani. This model will be a timeless future classic
For me it looks stunning
I don't mind the front too much. It isn't perfect, with lights being too small, grille too big, but it kinda works. My issue is the taillights. I absolutely hate that needless curve they added.
Its hideous sadly. Front especially and inside. Like the engine but why not get more power from it, not less. Jag F type is nicer and cheaper
Nothing nice about an F type interior especially
Sunday morning drives with this are fantastic.
Hey,
You videos are getting more entertaining , ou are maturing into the role well. Good on you, keep up the great work!
Thanks very much, I appreciate it
They've lost their purity, that's what it is, none of that N/A goodness, they went straight to AMG for the interior system and turbo engines.
Agree. And it doesn't sound refined. It sounds like a car a thug/villain would drive
i love the look man and the engine and everything about it
I agree with you. It isn't a car trying to look like a Ferrari.
