Well said Aaron. Warner Bros. had Cavill announce he was back and Gunn took it away two months later. I think when Cavill announced his return that was the most excited I have seen fans of DC in a long time.
Because there's power struggle inside DC films. One side want when soft rebooted Henry cavill superman, another side want hard reboot DC universe. What we got is wasted opportunity with Justice League sequel........
what I will say, a lot of what James gunn has announced, are projects that majority of the audience has NOT asked for. What he should have done was just announce a Superman film and only work on that. then, after superman, establish your Batman and WW solo films so that the TRINITY are established. Then, after those films, he can throw in the B-side characters that are not in the spotlight. It just seemed like he had a layup and decided to pass the ball back for a contested three-pointer shot.
James Gunn wasn’t in charge when WB refused Batman Beyond. Maybe they might green light it later. Plus Gunn didn’t even announce all the projects so Batman Beyond is still on the table. The creators of the film also said it’s not off the table.
That’s what I’m afraid of. I’m worried he won’t let the film be made because he doesn’t want any other Batman film competing with his. Or it will get made but he’ll add some of his humour and duck jokes to the film and just ruined it.

Shazam wasn't a weird project. Shazam is a big golden age hero. He has a great concept and it was a good film. Both were. You can't compare it to superpets or fucking Black Adam or Blue Beatle. Other than that I agree the slate looks like dogshit. I don't think they understand we NEED Justice League yesterday. With the classic team members. It should be a continuation of the Darkseid storyline. But if not. They should have fast tracked a Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Superman project. Then jumped straight in to a JL movie with new Flash, Batman and possibly Martian Manhunter. Have them take on Braniac in the first movie and move toward Darkseid again. Period. This isn't rocket science.
At this point all we can do is hope that Gunn "right the ship". I have accepted that Snyder isn't coming back (for the DC Universe at least) and both Snyder and WB have moved on as far as DC comics is concerned. I'll go see "Superman" with an open mind, while hoping "Rebel Moon 3; Director's Cut" gets released.
I believe the DCU is going to come together just fine. It was acknowledged that it would be an uphill battle. Most likely due to the troubles of the old regime and divisiveness of the fans. I enjoyed Zack Snyder's run with DC but it's done. Him and James Gunn being friends could possibly bring Zack back to a certain degree. Co-produce co-direct, you know inch him in a bit at a time. Zack is already in, doing the animated prequel to 300, so it's looking good for him.
Problem with DC is not director but studios meddling and script. Since Bird Of Prey, every DCEU movies is rushed and lack of comic accuracy. What worst is connection between previous movies lost. If mcu is like river going to sea, snyderverse is a big tree branches to other movies. Looking at James gunn upcoming superman legacy, you can see a problem. First is not solo movie which superman fans want because there's plenty superman story that need to be adapt to live action. Second, there's no "superman side character" that supposed to living in metropolis such as Martian manhunter, Steel and superboy but instead we got D-list justice league member who are very obscure because James gunn want change their background lore. Third, is krypto the dog is a sign that this movie is no longer sci-fi but instead action comedy to pleased Mcu fans and family friendly. And the biggest issues is David Corrensweat age, superman legacy supposed to be Clark Kent at the age of 23 but David will be turning 33 next year which means superman live action will be shortened 10 years. Should recast with 23 years old actor from beginning. I can see WB meddling while James gunn picking his cast

The movies from then on had better Rotten Tomatoes scores, sitting better with critics and audiences, something they (Walter Hamada, DC) were looking for. We all see that a good critic score doesn't necessarily mean more money. Comic book movies do not have to be solidly comic book accurate. That would then make the movie too predictable for those who keep up with the comics. Now Superman, the movie is named, no longer Superman Legacy. People are judging, hating on it before even seeing the complete product. I myself will wait for the complete product to then critique. So far I like what I see. This kind of reminds me of the time we were about to get Justice League:Mortal an already established world of heroes with no origin story to begin with, just jump right into the story directed by George Miller. James Gunn is a great writer and has shown he can handle an ensemble cast and not lose who the story is really about. Even while surrounded by existing heroes the story is still about Superman. Can't wait for this movie!

Time to put the excuses to bed. Spider-man: No Way Home, Shang-Chi, The Eternals, Black Widow, and Venom, all released the same year as The Suicide Squad, and all those movies had larger box office grossings than The Suicide Squad. It simply was a box office turd.
I agree. How are we supposed to get excited about another one of James Gunn's weird vanity projects that nobody asked for? The studio is broke and they continue to back a failing studio executive that doesn't know how to cater to the DC fandom. Nothing they're doing makes any sense 🤦.
Gunn has yet to prove anything to me. His personal social media stuff that got him fired from Disney is repulsive enough to get me to say no to anything that he does. But I’m a DC fan and want to see these characters on the big screen in the best way. But judging by his previous movies and his tweets, I just don’t think we will get what we want. And as a paying customer, I won’t settle. If Superman happens to blow me away, I will be thrilled. But at this point, I’m only looking to watch it when it hits streaming for free. I waited for the Flash to hit streaming and I was let down greatly by it. It was a mess and I believe that’s because of Gunn’s interference. I hope I’m wrong, but at this point, I don’t think so.
If people don't like The Batman, because it's another grounded take on the character, i think they'll like the Dynamic Duo. It will have characters that we didn't get to explore in the Snyderverse, that are very important to Batman. Grayson was killed off camera, so we didn't see Bruce teaching him to redirect that orphan's anger like how Bruce had to learn for himself. As Batman, he had to have seen cops and civilians killed by his rouges. But Jason's death must have hit a thousand times harder than any of that. And even after his resurrection, Bruce still didn't kill the Joker, showcasing the strength of his morals. (The DVD where you get to pick alternate endings is pretty cool tho) I don't want Pattinson being the Batman for Brave and the Bold. I'd prefer both a new actor and a different Batman. One that we can see up against some of the more fantastical villains, that don't make sense in a grounded and realistic Gotham.
Oh and still believe it's waaaaaay too early for a Batman Beyond film. A lot of it hinges on fans knowing about Batman (Bruce), because I doubt they'll adapt the series or comic book origin of Terry.

Superman L has a high budget. Add into market budget and if WBD spends lots of marketing then it move the metric up. Higher market cost always make it tougher to make money back. I haven't heard anyone else say the Cavill's costume looked, or could have looked cheap, nor do I think any of the other costumes in snyder's movies looked cheap. Steppenwolf wasn't that great, but good in Joss Weadon's cut, but looked good in the Snyder cut. As far as the things Gunn is coming out with, most of them aren't what I would have liked to see as initial offerings, and even though it's a personal opinion, I really can't see a large number of people being exciting over something like Creature Commandos, which for some reason reminds me of Scooby Doo every time I see it. It could be good. I don't know anything about it, and for that reason, it's not something I want to see from him right out of the gate.

Would’ve been better to release the AyerCut instead of TSS and make Peacemaker after rebooting, imo. Although I wouldn’t mind if he was a DCEU character who jumps into the DCU. Doubt it. Yeah, animated Batman Beyond, well, if they didn’t want to make it live-action, they could’ve still made it that way. Say, both Aquaman 2 and The Flash in the summer, the first movie with Batfleck and the second with the original ending to set up that film and release it in December, 2023. Spin Master doing the action figures...I wonder with all of the characters that are in the movie, will they even do all of them for action figures? I know Spin Master did all of them for Black Adam, but Dr. Fate was literally no where to be found. But Gunn's Superman has more characters, I don't see Spin Master doing every one. The days of science fiction is leaving they think only comedy sells I remember the days in thr 80s when Sci fi didn't have jokes but the movies was so entertaining like Legend it's a classic that should be remade it had humor but only scarcely. Other films that was good with little humor are Alien, Terminator ,The Fly just to speak on a few were there comedies yes even comedy Sci fi but we had serious ones as well now we only have jokes and there pervy in nature and not everyone want to see that I remember watching Wonder Woman with Linda Carter not very humorous but entertaining and a classic..They are appealing to this new gen mentality which is kinda porn hubbish they think they we loved Tomb Raider the video game cause of a chic in daisy dukes climbing rocks which is stupid and sick . Wb always want mcu 2.0 in their DC films. The reason why snyder got DCEU because Christopher Nolan bring him because Nolan believe snyder's superman is really grounded although snyder's superman is earth 1 post crisis superman which is supposed to be serious and sci-fi. It is an absolute disaster that all the Zack Snyder's follow up movies were cancelled and what WB done with no vision. Since that has happened these other movies made in a silly lighter style have not really performed as well and more resent Marvel movies have not been up to it and have had bad reviews. James Gunns Superman Legassy will have to be very special for them to carry on but its still looking like a long screw up. Still looks like they should have stuck with and let Zack Snyder do his thing and take the great direction there was on BVS. Marvel still have to up there game again as they still have not got the the past heights but bringing the Russo Brothers back is great. The only good thing DC have said they will do is Swamp thing but the rest sounds real silly except for the Matt Reeves Batman movies but we still should have Zack Snyder back to do his movies and finish it. The thing is with James Gunns suicide squad a lot of the general audience thought it was a sequel to the studio cut of David Ayer’s suicide squad which was a horrible movie which is why I believe Gunns suicide squad tanked because people thought it was a sequel and it had a lot of the same elements of the studio cut of Ayer’s suicide squad I guarantee you this won’t be the same case for Superman

what I will say, a lot of what James gunn has announced, are projects that majority of the audience has NOT asked for. What he should have done was just announce a Superman film and only work on that. then, after superman, establish your Batman and WW solo films so that the TRINITY are established. Then, after those films, he can throw in the B-side characters that are not in the spotlight. It just seemed like he had a layup and decided to pass the ball back for a contested three-pointer shot.
That's what people asking since DCEU started but nope. WB didn't want to do that and that's why they hired gunn who known not to follow comic
James Gunn wasn’t in charge when WB refused Batman Beyond. Maybe they might green light it later. Plus Gunn didn’t even announce all the projects so Batman Beyond is still on the table. The creators of the film also said it’s not off the table.

Other than that I agree the slate looks like dogshit. I don't think they understand we NEED Justice League yesterday. With the classic team members. It should be a continuation of the Darkseid storyline. But if not. They should have fast tracked a Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Superman project. Then jumped straight in to a JL movie with new Flash, Batman and possibly Martian Manhunter. Have them take on Braniac in the first movie and move toward Darkseid again. Period.

At this point all we can do is hope that Gunn "right the ship". I have accepted that Snyder isn't coming back (for the DC Universe at least) and both Snyder and WB have moved on as far as DC comics is concerned. I'll go see "Superman" with an open mind, while hoping "Rebel Moon 3; Director's Cut" gets released.

I believe the DCU is going to come together just fine. It was acknowledged that it would be an uphill battle. Most likely due to the troubles of the old regime and divisiveness of the fans. I enjoyed Zack Snyder's run with DC but it's done. Him and James Gunn being friends could possibly bring Zack back to a certain degree. Co-produce co-direct, you know inch him in a bit at a time. Zack is already in, doing the animated prequel to 300, so it's looking good for him.
Problem with DC is not director but studios meddling and script.
Since Bird Of Prey, every DCEU movies is rushed and lack of comic accuracy. What worst is connection between previous movies lost. If mcu is like river going to sea, snyderverse is a big tree branches to other movies.
Looking at James gunn upcoming superman legacy, you can see a problem. First is not solo movie which superman fans want because there's plenty superman story that need to be adapt to live action. Second, there's no "superman side character" that supposed to living in metropolis such as Martian manhunter, Steel and superboy but instead we got D-list justice league member who are very obscure because James gunn want change their background lore. Third, is krypto the dog is a sign that this movie is no longer sci-fi but instead action comedy to pleased Mcu fans and family friendly.
And the biggest issues is David Corrensweat age, superman legacy supposed to be Clark Kent at the age of 23 but David will be turning 33 next year which means superman live action will be shortened 10 years. Should recast with 23 years old actor from beginning. I can see WB meddling while James gunn picking his cast

@@boboboy8189 Birds of Prey came out during the time Walter Hamada was running DC. A whole new plan was underway to move away from what Zack had started. The movies from then on had better Rotten Tomatoes scores, sitting better with critics and audiences, something they (Walter Hamada, DC) were looking for. We all see that a good critic score doesn't necessarily mean more money.
Comic book movies do not have to be solidly comic book accurate. That would then make the movie too predictable for those who keep up with the comics. Now Superman, the movie is named, no longer Superman Legacy. People are judging, hating on it before even seeing the complete product. I myself will wait for the complete product to then critique.
So far I like what I see. This kind of reminds me of the time we were about to get Justice League:Mortal an already established world of heroes with no origin story to begin with, just jump right into the story directed by George Miller.
James Gunn is a great writer and has shown he can handle an ensemble cast and not lose who the story is really about. Even while surrounded by existing heroes the story is still about Superman. Can't wait for this movie!

Gunn has yet to prove anything to me. His personal social media stuff that got him fired from Disney is repulsive enough to get me to say no to anything that he does. But I’m a DC fan and want to see these characters on the big screen in the best way. But judging by his previous movies and his tweets, I just don’t think we will get what we want. And as a paying customer, I won’t settle. If Superman happens to blow me away, I will be thrilled. But at this point, I’m only looking to watch it when it hits streaming for free. I waited for the Flash to hit streaming and I was let down greatly by it. It was a mess and I believe that’s because of Gunn’s interference. I hope I’m wrong, but at this point, I don’t think so.

I'm sorry for James Gunn's loss but he needs to be fired or demoted.
If people don't like The Batman, because it's another grounded take on the character, i think they'll like the Dynamic Duo. It will have characters that we didn't get to explore in the Snyderverse, that are very important to Batman. Grayson was killed off camera, so we didn't see Bruce teaching him to redirect that orphan's anger like how Bruce had to learn for himself. As Batman, he had to have seen cops and civilians killed by his rouges. But Jason's death must have hit a thousand times harder than any of that. And even after his resurrection, Bruce still didn't kill the Joker, showcasing the strength of his morals. (The DVD where you get to pick alternate endings is pretty cool tho)
I don't want Pattinson being the Batman for Brave and the Bold. I'd prefer both a new actor and a different Batman. One that we can see up against some of the more fantastical villains, that don't make sense in a grounded and realistic Gotham.
Oh and still believe it's waaaaaay too early for a Batman Beyond film. A lot of it hinges on fans knowing about Batman (Bruce), because I doubt they'll adapt the series or comic book origin of Terry.

I haven't heard anyone else say the Cavill's costume looked, or could have looked cheap, nor do I think any of the other costumes in snyder's movies looked cheap. Steppenwolf wasn't that great, but good in Joss Weadon's cut, but looked good in the Snyder cut. As far as the things Gunn is coming out with, most of them aren't what I would have liked to see as initial offerings, and even though it's a personal opinion, I really can't see a large number of people being exciting over something like Creature Commandos, which for some reason reminds me of Scooby Doo every time I see it. It could be good. I don't know anything about it, and for that reason, it's not something I want to see from him right out of the gate.
Like in sports, just because Gunn was a good player on team Marvel, doesn't mean he will automatically be a good general manager for team DC.

Yeah, animated Batman Beyond, well, if they didn’t want to make it live-action, they could’ve still made it that way. Say, both Aquaman 2 and The Flash in the summer, the first movie with Batfleck and the second with the original ending to set up that film and release it in December, 2023.

Spin Master doing the action figures...I wonder with all of the characters that are in the movie, will they even do all of them for action figures? I know Spin Master did all of them for Black Adam, but Dr. Fate was literally no where to be found. But Gunn's Superman has more characters, I don't see Spin Master doing every one. The days of science fiction is leaving they think only comedy sells I remember the days in thr 80s when Sci fi didn't have jokes but the movies was so entertaining like Legend it's a classic that should be remade it had humor but only scarcely. Other films that was good with little humor are Alien, Terminator ,The Fly just to speak on a few were there comedies yes even comedy Sci fi but we had serious ones as well now we only have jokes and there pervy in nature and not everyone want to see that I remember watching Wonder Woman with Linda Carter not very humorous but entertaining and a classic..They are appealing to this new gen mentality which is kinda porn hubbish they think they we loved Tomb Raider the video game cause of a chic in daisy dukes climbing rocks which is stupid and sick . Wb always want mcu 2.0 in their DC films. The reason why snyder got DCEU because Christopher Nolan bring him because Nolan believe snyder's superman is really grounded although snyder's superman is earth 1 post crisis superman which is supposed to be serious and sci-fi.

It is an absolute disaster that all the Zack Snyder's follow up movies were cancelled and what WB done with no vision. Since that has happened these other movies made in a silly lighter style have not really performed as well and more resent Marvel movies have not been up to it and have had bad reviews. James Gunns Superman Legassy will have to be very special for them to carry on but its still looking like a long screw up. Still looks like they should have stuck with and let Zack Snyder do his thing and take the great direction there was on BVS. Marvel still have to up there game again as they still have not got the the past heights but bringing the Russo Brothers back is great. The only good thing DC have said they will do is Swamp thing but the rest sounds real silly except for the Matt Reeves Batman movies but we still should have Zack Snyder back to do his movies and finish it. James Gunn's DC just looks like kids stuff.
I just want snyder to finished his justice league trilogy and DCEU should ended that way. Meanwhile hire Brad Bird to do superman movie and not James gunn

Not to mention that UGLY collar thats not a batman suit its an abomination! The designer said he wanted the cowl to look like a skull! That guy is clueless batmans suit is not the Phantoms suit which has the skull as its underlying theme! Batmans theme is a bat!
