I can't anymore with WB. Poor judgment, poor management and poor hiring for key positions.
WB gets what they deserve! They didn’t get much profit from the first one either which was never needed! We wanted the Leto movie which would’ve made bank!

Yeah. My main problem is that it’s fairly limited since having Batman and Lois son as the new Batman, Jimmy Olsen, Robin, Batgirl dead. It was inevitable the universe would’ve failed after the Snyderverse anyways. Honestly we could’ve finished it by now and still gotten the reboot.
Here in latam, all dc movies are looked at from Warner Brothers among older fans. Younger people might see it as dc and that could be what they are playing here, they want to attach their failures to WB because younger audiences recognize these movies under dc.

I had an interesting experience earlier today talking to someone that would be considered a member of the general audience and the topic of Superman came up... She told me how much she loved Henry Cavill and couldn't wait to see him as Superman again and I was the one to break the news to her that he was let go almost two years ago and they cast someone that looks like his baby brother and put him in a baggy suit so that you can't even see his muscles... Needless to say, she was pissed and very disappointed... This made me wonder about how many millions of people may be out there who don't follow the business like we do and are still expecting Henry Cavill to be Superman the next time they see a Superman movie only to be surprised when they see a trailer with Superdiaperman... Time will tell

I have a bit of a hot take. I didn’t think rebooting was a bad idea. I think the mistake was not finishing the story first. Give us the Ayer Cut, Man of Steel 2, Batfleck V Deathstroke, and ZSJL2-3 then reboot.
The me the only way to save DC at this point is to continue the SnyderVerse as an Elseworlds. ZSJL2-3 at the very least, and WBD doesn’t have the money, license it off to Netflix.
No matter who they had hired to head DC, they needed to recognize that they are simply a shepherd of these properties. Frankly speaking they are in too much debt to spearhead a reboot successfully. Strictly speaking in business you build the base and then that this profits and reinvest into the business. Not everyone will agree on the end product, but the bottom line is the bottom line.
And so falls the house of Wayne.
That's what happens when they make strange things for their project and announce weird project such as kiteman, booster gold when there are real character that are yet to be shown on live TV
It’s stupid to reboot while these other DCEU movies are still being released and keep some actors as the characters in the previous DC Universe like Amanda Waller, Peacemaker and some of the Suicide Squad and call it a reboot which it’s not it’s favoritism

As sad as it is, maybe this will stop James Gunn from being able to destroy dc with his awful ideas in the dcu.
Do think that the joker sequel could’ve focused on giving the fans of the first movie what they wanted, set up a third movie and then finish, maybe connecting it with another director’s DC Universe. But that’s just my opinion, did enjoy it, overall, as an enjoyer of the original film.
The Joker was a pointless exercise of a movie because it just rips off parts of the plot from great "the king of Comedy" movie. The only person this benefits is JP with his performance. The Joker is a boring movie on second viewing and I could not get through it, even the first viewing of the movie keeps you wondering if anything really exciting is going to happen. Lady Gaga is the most attractive thing about this second movie and it is something that is a big curiosity only. If they had done this movie the right way they would have made the Joker an origin story for the DC. Yet again WB have no real plan and direction and are starting and stopping projects from a connecting story level with every few movies and screwing them all up at the same time. It started with Justice League which after they put right and released Zack's Vision they still did not carry on with and it is just been one big screw up movie after movie. Dump them all and get Zack Snyder back with his crew and those actors and do it right and let the directors do there thing. DC is now all over the place with multiple directions and screw ups and they are just wasting money and peoples time. The thing is Joker 2 may well be the better of the two Joker movies but not liked as it is just different and as I am told a miserable dark experience.
The moment they said that Joker 2 would be a musical i knew the movie was doomed. Don't get me wrong, I love musicals but not in Joker.
I’ll still see this to form my own opinion because what I liked most about this is it NOT being anything like a comic story. My least favorite part was me thinking the Waynes. 🤷♂️
I just thought they used the archetype in a neat way and the laughing condition was so ch a cool thing . I’d actually use that in the comic canon if I was rebooting a main comic series. I heard the spoiler ending though and I thought it sounded VERY corny.
James Gunn is doing a copy and paste with superman he's copying the avengers on how all the heroes were originally separate until one lie bought them together same as SvsB and justice league copy and paste that's the Gunn way 😅😅😅😅😢

No matter how good The original movie is , There is always room for a another better sequel. Look at avatar for example it just gets better and better. In my opinion its just certain directors that lack confidence and creativity and go into it with the mindset of " i cant recreate what i did for the first" 🤦🏾♂️. I hate when people blame how good the original movie was when the sequel is bad . Instead people should blame Todd Phillips Himself for this whole mess. Not Joaquin Phoenix or Lady gaga , Or the idea itself.
Yep, this is the only sensible take. There was totally still enough material for a solid sequel, literally just do Harley Quinn’s origin, and then have some sort of climax where they lead a city wide riot and end up dying together or something, easy layup

The rumored budget was $364 million and at 1st i thought it was ridiculous given how cheap the reveals have been and the no name actors in the critical roles but now I believe it is similar to that due to them not releasing any info on it
Joker 2 started filming shortly after Gunn was hired and the penguin got delayed due to the script and actors strike penguin began filming in March of 2023 and since it got delayed it finished filming in February 2024 that’s why dc studios distributed it and not joker 2

If I was WB’s marketing team I would get an early start on promoting Superman with a profound teaser to distract from Joker’s failure and to get everyone excited on a new beginning. Drop a teaser a week before Halloween. Then go radio silent until the Super Bowl. Let momentum slowly build.

I don't understand why gunn wants a younger superman and then hires the other heroes that are older then cavill except for hawkgirl. The other thing and main reason why I don't like gunn is why shut down superman and lois there season will be done in the first week of December plenty of time to sell the movie as different from the show 🙄

I think the reason we are barely getting any marketing is because Peter Safran still has the horror movie mentality on him. The conjuring universe is the second most financially successful cinematic universe after the MCU.
Only difference is they are horror movies with lower budgets. They just need like 200m to be success. Horror audience and superhero audience are different. I should know I’m both of them.
Hopefully the marketing will be good enough.
